That 4 stroke really chugs up them hills nicely. Bike looks really strong and so do you. Great ride. Every time I watch one of your videos I want a 250f more and more
Thanks! Yeah, it would be hard to switch to anything else after getting used to the yz250fx. I’ve never had so much confidence in a bike. You should try one for sure.
Hey Donnie riding good - course looked really fun and technical - I am riding a 2021 fx250 with a few upgrades - like yourself moved up from C to B class here in central Texas TORCS (scrambles) raced yesterday got 4th getting faster and closer to podium was in third till 3rd lap (got passed) one thing that really is helping me get faster is standing up more (when ever possible) notice your sitting down a lot - when it's tight we have to sit down but soon as it opens up a bit get up on the pegs it will be awkward at first but over time be comfortable - get in a rhythm of sit to stand back and forth - especially when it gets bumpy (whoops) when the real fast guys come by me they are always on the pegs - take care brother
Even as slick as it looked it still looked like alot of fun. I can only imagine how sweet the course would have been dry! I have a hard time standing up, I'm afraid of the front end slipping out and my rear brake feel when standing is horrible. I need to play around with my pedal height a bit more, I think its a little too low still. Standing up while going downhill is very uncomfortable feeling for me too. If I have to brake, I sit down. I can't tell you how many times I have accidentally mashed the pedal and locked up the rear end. Any pointers from you? I feel like this is what is limiting me from getting faster. I would say I am a C/B rider, but standing up has always been an issue for me and I know it is something that needs to second nature.
Thanks for watching! I've found that some boots really limit my ability to modulate the rear brake, especially when standing. For example, I had a pair of Gaerne SG-12 boots that I wore for a year but could never get them flexible enough to feel my rear brake when standing. I love Gaerne boots but I like the SG-10 much better for that reason. I sit more than I should, mainly to conserve energy, but sitting on a steep downhill is dangerous. Standing to get your weight farther back is definitely the best way descend hills. You can also use the rear brake to help steer the bike when descending a steep hill while standing. As far as getting comfortable with it, practice it often and start with small/not too steep hills and work your way up to larger hills. Make sure your brake pedal position and your boot will allow you to feel how much pressure you're putting on the pedal.
I was there as a spectater kinda muddy ? Looking for you wanted a hat how long was track ?(miles) that place would not come up on my GPS I managed to find bridge out
When you said 7 inches of rain I thought it would be so bad your bike would not be recognizable!! On your leatt elbow pads do you were them under the jersey ? Did you have to size up on the jersey ? I was already looking at those when you said it’s what you wear! I looked online and can’t find one Mention of wearing them under the jersey and from your videos I don’t see elbow pads over your jersey. Thanks

Bid don gave me my hat thanx for the audigraph 👍
You’re welcome! I hope I didn’t ruin it! 😂

Yep, for me it’s a balancing act between good form and energy conservation. At 50 I have to conserve as much as possible. Thanks for watching!
Man I didn’t mean to mess the intro to your video up lol. I was pulling in deciding if I needed to turn around and leave or suck it up and race😂
You didn’t mess it up at all! Lol. How’s the hand?
@@DirtBikingwithDonnie broke knuckle and some leaking forks but it was a fun day all around
Man, sure looks like those trails take a serious beating with all that rain. Do they repair them after?
It’s so sandy at meridian ohv the next rain will fill the ruts. They’ve had many mud races there and it recovers very quickly.

Have you softened your suspension? Thanks for all the vids!
Yes, revalved and resprung by Fastlap Racing Suspension.
Are you still using the DJI camera?
Yes
Still liking it over the 9?
@@Spewnthereisnone Yes, the battery performance is the main advantage but I’m liking the wider field of view as well.

Sorry I missed you! Yeah, I found that bridge out too and had to backtrack to get there. Test 1 was 5 miles, test 2 was 7 miles.
I can HEAR how slippery it was!
It was, the ruts got really bad too.

Always under the jersey.
@@DirtBikingwithDonnie Got it. Do they fit your normal size jersey or did you go up one size on the jersey?
@@MR.TOYBOX Normal size jersey but I also have normal sized arms, lol. Most jerseys are pretty stretchy
@@MR.TOYBOX I had two jerseys on in this race
@@DirtBikingwithDonnie Two jerseys? Was that because it was a bit cool outside?
