How to Quote Friends in WhatsApp
In WhatsApp you can select a message you want to quote in your reply. To do so, open a conversation thread of your choice. Tap and hold on a message you have received. Tap Reply. Now you’ll see the quoted message above the text box. Type in your message and tap send. If you want to remove the quoted message, then tap on the x button.

Its changed in newer versions. Now you swipe the message to the right to quote it.
