Greetings from a Scanian, with relatives in Wyoming! A topic request for Dr Crawford: the Scanian dialect (Skånska), with roots in both Danish and Swedish as a result of the long conflict between the two countries. Notably the pronounciation of "R" (lone rhotic consonant) in Scanian and other south Swedish dialects, which is more similar to that of e.g. Danish, German and French than standard Swedish.

Great reading, it's such a great language for poetry. I believe it's from the verses 48,52,57, 59,60,62 of the Völuspá in the Poetic Edda. I'm not an expert and it could differ some between the two manuscripts, the Hauksbok and the Codex Regius.
