That was a monitor lizard not a leguana. Sad to see it suffer. Dogs are pack animals that react on instinct for their survival. They were protecting their territory and it's resources. The one who attacked first is usually the pack leader. If it was just one dog, the dog would have barked to notify it's human that something was amiss but when they are in a pack, instinct kicks in. Witnessing gory deaths especially if they are animals/reptiles makes it even more sad.
I'm not sure if you would consider this but you are so funny , you have enough material to do stand-up comedy or write some material - sketch? That story about the Brazilian - omg that was so hilarious , that could definitely go in somewhere.
