I like both Gold and Imaginary friend because they are different concept. Gold will be good for show opening song like born to be. Imaginary friend is a beautiful song with amazing mv, vocal, visuals and dance. Imaginary friend is probably itzy best song so far. ❤❤❤❤❤ Thanks for the reaction .
I think that when the English version of Imaginary Friend was released, Apple Music said that the song was about the parasocial relationship we as fans have with kpop idols. That's why they keep repeating they are our "Imaginary Friends" and they will keep us safe and dreaming but in contrast the song and mv look cold almost sad, having an imagery of the girls running in circles, being hurt and trying to stop the bleeding without succeeding, being scared and harmed by shadows that can't touch them but the itzy girls can feel them, the girls trying to cover lia's eyes at the end, a butterfly pinned to a wall, so beautiful and still so we can see it carefully but so in pain at the same time. Actually Lia herself said that we as fans get to decide if imaginary friend is a good thing or not. Absolutely stunning, not many songs in kpop invite to reflect about how we consume our favorite idols.
This is by far, their best song to date!!!! Having Lia lead it in the beginning and seeing her presence again (OT5) is what we've been missing ever since she took a hiatus. Something about this song and MV brings out emotion out of people. So many KPop friends I've talked to say this song is such an emotional vibe. They have nothing to PROVE in 2024! They did that already when they debuted like a damn lightning bolt from the KPop heavens. Now, it's the evolution of ITZY and what these women become as they mature and get older. Gold was the worst song on the album and it’s 1 of the only 2 title tracks I don’t like and 1 only the like 10-15 ITZY songs I don’t like.
