You really should. There public is top notch. Food plots, big areas but there is a ton of competition so being really close by is huge I think. By that I mean get there the weekend it melts and It can be really fun. My biggest whitetail of the year! Thanks for checking out the vid!
That spot with 6 sheds on public land is what shed hunting dreams are made of! I take it you were in NE Iowa? Definitely lots of deer in the Driftless region.
Yeah iowa can be pretty awesome. I've struggled there also. And I'll agree days like that just don't happen to often. I put a lot of miles on so it's nice to be rewarded once in a while. Thanks for watching man....appreciate you!! 👊
@@angryriveroutdoors9552 Yeah from my experience it’s easier to find sheds across the border on Iowa public than Wisconsin public, the public here is few and far between and gets picked over pretty well
I have respect for you just knowing that because it's the truth!! The iowa dnr does things right! I wish Wisconsin would get on board because we have just as much potential as Iowa. It just doesn't get brought to fruition!
@@angryriveroutdoors9552 Exactly. Nowadays it’d be extremely difficult for the WIDNR to acquire more land for public use, whereas the Iowa public is going nowhere anytime soon. They also have a lot less hunters and don’t have a true rifle season like we do which really takes a toll on the overall herd numbers (not that I haven’t partaken in rifle season in the past). Just overall a higher age class of deer in IA and way more public opportunities to be had which is great for shed hunters like us!
