Adam Smith Changed Nothing, Colonialism & Slavery DID

Smith was not a political or a social reformer. He was academic. His prophecy about labour being a source of value and payment of wage (even subsistence wage) goes against the tenets of the institution of slavery. Similarly, his argument for free trade and trade is beneficial for both the trading countries negates the basis for colonialism. Still, l you are right in the sense that Smith was not the torchbearer of the anti-slavery movement or anti-colonialism.
