  • Today we spent the day getting the seeder out of the shed and all hooked up so we can check it all over in preparation for the 2023 seeding season. Whilst we had the time in the day we also got Wally started and got the fire unit off and the Norrish seed and super bin on and gave it a run up!
    Seeding is only two weeks away!!!!!!!

    I recently drove from SA to Perth and back and seeing farm land in WA was a treat, huge fields. Good to see some aussie farmers doing regular uploads!

    I have been watching a dairy farmer from the UK (Funky Farmer) and wondered if there were any Aussie farmers doing regular videos. And low and behold find a West Aussie, brilliant.

    I have a question, I know you guys in WA are big on tram lines. How come you don’t put your track machine out to 3m spacings so it tracks the same as seeder.?

    • @tomsbrookfarm
      @tomsbrookfarm  Год назад +2

      You are right we are big on tramlines and Controlled Traffic Farming (CTF) the reason this tractor isn’t on 3m is because we we bought it, it was one they had in the lot ready to go. (Sort of an off the cuff purchase) so we didn’t get to build it to what we wanted.
      The new tractor coming to replace this tractor is out on 3m however and all our other gear is as well.

    How long are the augers on those headers? Looks a fair bit longer than the standard 28.5''

    • @tomsbrookfarm
      @tomsbrookfarm  Год назад +1

      They are longer, I can't remember the length of the top of my head but it is the longest auger you can get and then there is an extension at the end to get out even further. Its so that we can run our chaser bins on the same track as the header!

  • @mangodriving6757
    @mangodriving6757 Год назад

    hey mate, just wondering if you run a hydraulic booster for the seeder/cart

    • @tomsbrookfarm
      @tomsbrookfarm  Год назад +1

      No we dont, the John Deere has good enough oil flow that we dont need one. There is also the advantage of the two oil pumps so we can split the load between them for best hydrolic flow
