I'm hoping to get mine by the Christmas Holiday season! It'll be fun filling up a 1TB card for this bad boy!! I hope you get yours next month can't wait to see more of your vids!
Exciting indeed!! It has just been announced in the discord chat that the first 1000 devices (across all skus and color options) will start shipping this thursday (26th oct 2023)! After that they will crank up production to meet the remaining backing orders till the end of november.
They actually restocked the Base version since the IGG campaign was extended till the end of the month (oct 31st)!! You can check my link in the video description :)
It depends on your contribution ID and sku. Currently AYN is shipping out 1000 units of various skus and color variants until friday. After a short pause to optimize processes they will ramp up production to meet all early bird backers until end of november, so they said! So fingers crossed, i'm sure you will get your notice in time. Do set your expectations to end of november tho (for the shipping notice at least and then depending on where they'll have to deliver your order).
@@InuGamiac ooooof heavy days. Thanks mate. To be honest, i should probably just forget that this thing even exists. Im in the 8000 mark so who knows how long i will wait. Pity though because I paid 500 pounds for it so i think that might swing things in my favour. They obviously a small company and the focus now is getting the reviews out there so that would explain why those guys are getting it so quickly. Supply and demand eh.
I'm really looking forward to my unit! Everyday I'm looking at the shipping dashboard lol. Atm I'm just preparing my SD card. I got a 512gb micro sd which SHOULD be enough space. Also, I switched over to cold grey several days ago. I really love the black but when I saw some fingerprints on the system in videos it did kinda bother me even though it wasn't TOO bad.
Haha i can totally understand, i was contemplating about switching to cold grey as well (bc cold grey looks pretty awesome) but mine was also shipped already so i'll stick to black :D Hope yours arrives soon! It's super exciting
AYN did want to ramp production by now but with the past black week and the upcoming holidays it might be possible. Fingers crossed that you'll receive yours earlier than you expected!! 🤞🤞🤞
I think having people with different experience levels of emulation on RUclips is a good thing, we're at a place now in 2023 where people of all different experience levels can enjoy emulation and covering the more casual side of gaming is just as important as the expert side. Not every gamer needs to be dialling in every setting possible for an emulator and not everyone wants watch a highly complicated video where if you do an hours work following a guide you gain a small boost in FPS. Overall all gamers just want to have a nice gaming experience.
Thank you for the encouragement!! I'm definitely a beginner when it comes to that but learning new things is fun so i hope those who watch my videos look forward to grow with me as well ✨
Exactly!! I wanted to believe in them but was still expecting something along the lines of end of december 2023 or january 2024. They have really worked on their time/project management and we are definitely seeing the results now.
It's exciting to have Linux in AYN Odin 2 because even being ARM, Linux is a much more mature system with access to plenty of open-source software and emulators that we don't have on Android. Even ps2 for example, we have for android but the developer is no longer supporting the app so we're not going to see updates... But for Linux we have constant updates and improvements in these emulators... And there are some PC games with ARM support or that can be played using translation tools (such as proton, but most games will not work)... for exemple for the AYN Odin 1 they ported Windows and some games were indeed playable , such as Skyrim, etc. And you can dock your Ayn Odin 2 with Linux and use it as a pretty powerful Linux desktop. So yeah, it's pretty nice. Since I just care about transforming my future device in a emulator powerhouse and I don't care about android gaming, I would be tottaly on board in installing Linux on my device, especially if the community support a specific/good distro focusing on the device (basically a Linux based custom firmware especially for ayn Odin 2 focused on emulation... We could even unlock ps3 emulation with that). :) so that answer your question. You're welcome.
Thank you for the detailed explanation!! The additional linux apps do sound pretty interesting... It would be great if the Odin2 could really run a few windows games well, for now i've only seen one reviewer who unfortunately failed to execute winlator but that might change over time as developers get to it. For me, using the Odin2 for emulation is also good enough for now, of course i'd be absolutely hype if ps3 emulation would EVER become possible with the 8gen2 processor. That's probably going to take a while tho, if it ever happens.
Well, the Base model starts at $299 with 8GB RAM but i get what you mean. It really comes down to what the use case is gonna be. I also own a steam deck but it's just really too hefty (for me) to become a proper travel companion, so i'm really looking forward to playing around with the Odin's smaller form factor. Tho i myself also play more pc games, it's gonna be great for emulation up to ps2 and switch (tho i really pray to witness ps3 also becoming available to android)
Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, Lenovo Legion Go and Ayn Odin 2 destroyed every other handheld consoles from other companies. For the price these 4 devices are the king of every handheld consoles.
I’m looking into the odin2 and like the grey one because of the Super Nintendo vibe. Sweet

Thanks!! When did you order yours? If it was a while back then the chances for you to receive it before christmas should be pretty good :D
I ordered 2 hours after the indiegogo drop lol
The gray one is soooo clean
A channel all about odin 2? 😁 subscribed!
Hope things improve for you and the gaming continues to spark joy!🎉
Thank you for your support and the kind words! I just received my shipping notice today so there's definitely more to come 😆
@@InuGamiac Yaaaay!

Which games did you find ran playably well? I'm just starting out with Yuzu and super excited to see what i can play!
I just did. The Base, cheapest one, just sold out.

Is there an actual shipment date? . I bought the max early bird oct14th but haven't heard anything back since purchase?

Most just want to play with very little tweaking that is how you buy a device , if you love up to ps2 then you buy Odin 2@@InuGamiac
It's hard to believe considering ayn's track record with shipping

$450 Odin 2...... Rog Ally about $700 but does it all up to current pc gaming...tough call

Talking about linux, I only consider linux as second OS. There is planty of good games on Android, that I really want to play.
Looking forward to seeing what people will do with linux on Odin2! What android games would you recommend? I for myself like to play RPGs lol
Anyone try Android game: N.O.V.A 3

For real, the value you get for the prices is unbelievable! Love to see this, us end users can only benefit from the competition ✨
