Seeing as you asked for thoughts on this years waxstock. 1. Far too many ceramic coating companies. 2. Arrive and shine was pitiful, barely 15 cars took part in what is touted as the biggest car detailing show in the world. 3. Questions need to be asked by the organisers why some of the biggest brands did not attend. Maguiars, gyeon, autobrite direct to name just 3. 4. It was far too spread out and the stands all seemed to have shrunk, is that because of the eye wateringly high pitch prices? Soft99 has gone from having a huge stand to 2 small gazebos and limited products avaliable. 5. Maybe it's time to introduce a payment for parking to offset the pitch costs then maybe some of the smaller British brands would come back or turn up for the first time. 6. The main stage interviews were poorly attended, after talking with lots of people, no one is bothered about the opinions of reviewer/promoter groups being so high profile on the day, bring back more of the demonstrations and instructional content. I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts on my thoughts. Nice haul you got too. 👍🏻
@@pmbrowny absolutely awesome response. For me I want to see a bit more going on on the day also. More professional detailers giving demos on the stage as opposed to just on their stands. It seems the traders were being charged crazy prices and had to scale down their operations and some just purely refused to pay the eye watering prices. I want to see more smaller brands attending and they just cannot afford it. Stand sharing should be allowed for the little guys to make it worthwhile. It certainly isn't what people expected and if our opinions matter then maybe for next year there can be huge changes to the format 👏👏👏
@@triggerhappyautos it looks like we're of the same opinion about the prices and smaller brands, stand sharing is a fantastic idea that I didn't think of, it definitely makes sense because this would work because so many of the smaller brands are not upset if you choose or prefer a product from another company because the smaller brands will more than likely ask for help from one another and what better way than to work alongside side each other on a stand.
@@pmbrowny Exactly mate. The brand aren't all necessarily against each other at all. The majority are happy to help each other out and I have many stories of occasions where this has happened. One from waxstock was John from Angelwax giving Josh from Wax Gurus a sample of his matte wax to play with as he had been struggling to blend a product for matte paint. Absolute respect for each other. I love that part of the industry. Obviously some aren't so happy to help others but it would be great to see the little brands sharing stands and pack it to the rafters with traders 👍👍👍
Good points, as an individual I used to love going as there was Autoglym, Autobrite, Gyeon, Maguiars etc and all these were absent this year for some reason. Also absolutely nothing going on the stage in the afternoon. After an hour I left as it was boring. It was only Gtechniq that had any appeal to me. A few years back there was Mike Phillips on stage amongst others and was really good. I will be reviewing the companies going before attending next year. Shame as I love detailing as a weekend warrior! There was no new magazine from PVD either. Big names like Pan the Organiser or Forensic detailing would be big names I would like to have seen there for example.
Ya know i never thought of the entry price. There is a car show here outdoors with not half the stands for €40 a man. Any show is as good as you make it. If i werent in TCB would i have enjoyed it as much... Socially no but i got lots of stuff to use. All new to me. Thanks for the mention also.
@@christycribbin889 absolutely mate. Seems a massive divide between people about how the show went down. I would have liked to have seen a bit more there but socially absolutely fantastic 💪💪
@@alankelly1542 Cheers dude, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was really excited with what I came back with so I'm glad others agree haha. 🤣🤣🤣 Get a bucket and get the list together. It's a belting day for socialising that's for sure, would be great to meet you there next year 👍👍👍
This was my first waxstock and like you I enjoyed seeing people and hearing differing views. I did expect more stands but the cost, I'm guessing, is prohibitive. Its as though it just needs a bit of a firework up its rear end to give it a bit more atmosphere. For me a DJ and more traders etc would increase footfall and give it a lift. Also for me some celebrity detailers on stage giving some demos etc would be awesome! Let's hope for a bit more next year dude. Thanks for your comment 👍👍👍
@triggerhappyautos I was at a wedding, oddly, only an hour from Coventry, not one I would've missed or I'd have been in trouble 😅. Hotel sounds a great idea 😀
i went this year, and not as many stalls there from what i remember, saying that last i went was pre corvid ,2019. from what i remember waxstock shut for 2 years 2020-2021, back for 2022 was it? i attended 2015 - 2019 and have met a bunch of cool guys, jason rose, mike philips, those years were the best, mike signed a couple of his guides i brought off him. ive got a bit of wax obsession also, not as many as you, i use mine tho lol. yeah so i did not go until now and did think there were a few companies not there that i missed. Was a good day mind really enjoyed. i was hoping the arena would let auto finesse back into the show, sucks that. autobrite not there, meguairs not there, auto finesse of course, loads of stall not there this time round,.. ticket prices are ok, as long as they don't go up much more though. spent a bunch of cash myself lol.
Thanks for watching mate. Yeah I agree, it just needs to be packed to the rafters with more traders. Although the more stands means more spending 🤣🤣. Oh I love my waxes too, some are for using and some are just for ornamental purposes. Much nicer than stamp or coin collections 😅😅.
