But look at these three guys who have nothing to do on Christmas so they just make a cooking showdown instead XD. And Mafumafu really went "Let's make Soraru-san happy". They're so precious

If I remember correctly, butter is used for making the batter lighter.
Edit: I got this answer on Google
It allows for steam and carbon dioxide to be trapped in the batter as it is bakes, which causes your cake to rise. The butter also helps to create a light and tender texture in cake batter.

I just realized that mafumafu is taller than soraru hshahshhs but i think amatsuki is the same as mafu or maybe taller?

Yep, Mafumafu is taller than Soraru-sama (176 cm). I believe Mafu is 178 cm. And I am not so sure about Amatsuki's.
Amatsuki is the shortest among those three! He is around 173 cm i believe
