As a Uruguayan resident, the salt water issue is horrifying. Even purified, boiled water, can be disgusting to drink more than a glass or two. It's mainly an issue in the capital city of Montevideo (I often travel 2 hours away on the weekends to visit my family in Maldonado, and the tap water there is perfectly drinkable, even straight from the tap). Sadly, it's been an issue due to a pretty serious drought, and even on the days it does rain, it's incredibly underwhelming when compared to the meteorological predictions, and of course, at best a shameful lack of foresight by government officials, and at worst, a disgusting case of unethical practices to help Salus, by far and away the largest bottling company in Uruguay, which as expected, does have ties with the government.

Now the normal person not paying attention believes "equity" is simply a good thing, but leftists know it means wealth redistribution. "Diversity" sounds wonderful, but leftists know it means they can exclude straight white men totally and everyone will say that's fine. "Inclusion" sounds good for normal people, but leftists know it means excluding everyone who has not signed onto the latest updated leftist ideology patch.

Of course, the word diversity means different things to different people ,but how I’m understanding what you wrote, it sounds like you’re generalising too large of a group of people. I highly doubt people would say that diversity is everyone but white people. Diversity just means to be have a variety of people including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, races etc. Isn’t diversity a good thing? I can only speak from experience so it might not mean much but in the past I’ve been pushed away because of my skin despite my qualifications but with an increasing diversity and effort to be diverse, I’ve been more accepted and peoples once bad perception change. It generated me quotes with complete citations that seemed to connect to the topic I provided, and referenced authors that were within the field of the topic, but then when I searched for the article titles, quotes, and isbn numbers on databases like JSTOR, they were completely made up!! Students may be relying on these resources and quotes for their college work not realizing these are completely false, generalized content created by the AI. This could jeopardize their academic integrity and get them kicked out of some college programs if they don't do their due dilligence and double check these references...

I worked at Chick-fil-A for almost two years and that diversity and inclusion thing was ALWAYS there. It was in the hiring manuals, applications, training videos, and just about every step that CFA couldn't discriminate against employees *or customers* regardless of x, y, or z, (with an "etc." in place of sexual orienation btw). I don't care about it as a company, I only found out about the homophobic thing after I was hired and wouldn't care less if CFA took a huge hit in business from this. But conservatives are on a whole other level of this shit. I thought it was bad with history and books, but this is just pathetic.
By the way, at least half of the people I worked with, including myself, are queer. Tonnes of people held up the line saying they were glad to still have *ONE* place that held to white Christian values when gay men salted their fries, lesbians made their frosted lemonades, woc filled their drinks and a nonbinary person washed the lettuce for their salads. This is ridiculous.

There's plenty of good stuff still to make. Stop going back to the same old well and come up with some new ideas. We've already seen this stuff. As for casinos, the last time I played black jack at a $20 dollar minimum bet table, I won 3 hands in a row and they switched dealers. Won another hand and switched again. Lost 3 hands, then won 1 and switched again. It felt so weird to have a new dealer every other hand that I cashed out and quit. Just feels sketchy now.

I got curious and started using it to recommend movies to me and using it as a 'rubber duck' when I'm doing world building for various projects. That thing Always answers in the affirmative. It is clearly programed to always "yes and" you and it is very obviously just grabbing bits and pieces of information and slamming them together in a way that makes sense in the context of what your asking it. Is it helpful? Yes. Without question. Is it a valid replacement for research and real human deliberation, critical thinking, and decision making? No! Not even a little! It even Tells You. When I ask it stuff it is constantly reminding me to look into things myself and conscious of this that and the other thing because there is more information out there then what it's providing me. There is a warning when you open it up that says "This thing does not always give you factual information and does not know how to fact check itself so be careful."
I think the issue comes down to technological illiteracy. People hear "It's an AI that answers the questions you ask it." And assume it's capable of literally anything because it's a computer and they don't understand Limitations in technology as a concept and they aren't asking anyone who *is* technologically literate to help them understand whats going on.

They had a little mermaid cosplayer in the lobby and when little kids would come in their jaws would drop to the floor when they saw a mermaid. All kids had the same reaction. Kids don't care about race, the movie is for kids. It seems so weird to have a problem with the race aspect of the film.

They could have made a "new" story with black charcters and i doubt anyone would have a problem with it.
Where the controversy comes in is changeing old stories, people are resistant to change they already have a version they like and it makes it feel like you're saying there version isnt good enough because its a white person, so it has to be remade to remove them.
Of course the executives know exactly what there doing the controversy is free advertising and kids dont give a shit about controversy or have any connection to the original stories. So disney can do there little cash grab with virtually no consequences

If the casting of the live action Little Mermaid bothers you, you are racist. There is no way around it. You can’t say “oh they changed it, and that’s why it bothers me” because they didn’t change anything, they hired real people to play fictional characters. She still has red hair, a green tale, and purple bra, and a beautiful singing voice. She is still the character Ariel, the only “change” is he skin color. If you don’t like Disney remakes, then end the sentence with “I don’t like when Disney remakes their cartoons” but if you finish it with “and changes the characters to black” then you have issues with race that you need to unpack, preferably in therapy.

Disney had promised a more faithful adaptation than the original animated movie and instead it went even more off the rails when it came to unfaithfulness. Woke - "A generalized ideal depicting Equity or another form of racial handicapping to facilitate another races benefit (often to the sole benefit of party leaders, see BLM donations for reference), commonly used to earn favor within a far left democratic community at the expense of conservative to liberal democratic communities. Often depicted through racial superiority complexes such as 'black people cannot be racist' which are, inherently, racist in origin (other examples may apply). Though promoted as equal minded and fair it is commonly delivered in a ham-fisted manner similar to religious advertisement or 'bible thumping'. Example of a "woke" quote, 'If you don't believe what I believe, you're not just wrong, you're evil'."
