Bhairava was fighting against Ashwatthama even in the climax. He tells Ashwatthama that he came prepared this time, probably he lost the first fight against him. You can see Ashwatthama stop Bujji Robot with his hands too. Basically, he upgraded Bujji after losing to Ashwatthama in the first round which messes up his ego and now all ready for the climax battle.

My guess is that after losing from aswathama Bhairava will follow them to Shambala and this time they will fight for a while then he will probably join them and then they will together fight with the complex or however the story progresses.

And there are a lot of playoffs and a lot of drama in that one sequence which is not likely going to be in the interval. It's not like the first half is just 2 action sequences imo, the movie has to show a lot of characters , too much to explore in each world. So the character arc of Bhairava should come circle by the end of the movie not just in the interval.
