The general that you can get for free, you can get it in the tavern. For you to get higher and better general in the tavern, your tavern must be up-to-date. I believe 26 and up. As for buying general as a pack. Those, you can guarantee an epic general, but it is random. Sometime you get the same one more then once. But retaining the general that you want is of course depends on luck. There is no easy way to get it
@Christine Baker, I got some great news. I figured out something. So far, for the last 3 days, I'd been getting free good generals from pack without buying packs. To be able to do this, Finish all your activity in your tavern to obtain the key of conscription. That key is use to open the chest box. In that box, you will get random general for free here and there. It will not be all the time. I received 2 of E johnson, and today just received babarossa. I think that's how you spell his name.
I have all 5 of these generals but use Joseph J. Johnston as my main city defense general. I like Yi Sun-sin too. I might have to sell the others since I don't need five. Good thing is you can get Johnston from the general chest by completing all your daily activities and getting a key. Once you claim all your rewards you can open chest. Many people get him that way. I got Johnston from the general Mementos pack
@@attorneyreid7 I'm still a beginner in this game. I sort of get that it is the set up that counts more than the actual general itself. So how does one set up Kusonoki for max effectiveness? He is super strong range, so I assume he needs seige and ground refines to balance him out, and perhaps general gear that doesn't just go for range buffs?
what books should I put on Joseph E Johnston which you selected as wall best general. Can you please name them and order of skill book level so that i do not loose books and make my general? It would be really grate if you can help me.
Any thoughts on Kusunoki Masashige? He has high ranged attack (35% as well as a 20% mounted attack buff but overall I think he is lacking. I have to make a decision whether to keep him or not. I'm currently using Kiet but have just got both Kusunoki and also Yi Sun but I think I might sell one of these and wait till I get Johnston

@@jasekiely9761 i would suggest raising archers and balance it out with siege buff, on top of that a little of ground defense. Other people will have different suggestion. Snoop around to see which ia best for you

U mean you don't want to do something wrong?. There is little you can do wrong. Deoends on the type of play style you have. I'd seen a lot of players using Joseph. He's a good gen, but there are other gens too. How good you make Joseph is how you refine, gear, and cultivate him. Depends on the troops you have and how many. I would suggest you skill him with a lvl 4 siege attack, archers attack. And if you have ground troop layering or a lot of ground troops, put hp for ground troops. This can be switch and swap to fit your defensive play. Final stats depends on how high your gen is. Equipping your gen with a dragon can also increase its stats. When i say dragon, i don't mean spirit beast, i ment actually celtic dragon or other dragons if you have more then one.
As a tavern general, Tran is pretty good for a basic wall general. Ive been using tran and 80% of the time i was successful defending my castle with him. With the proper gear and skill book follows by gen and tech. Tran is not so bad, that isnif you do not have premium general.

@@818marface ahh ok i got what you are saying. If it is a purple sub it is a legendary. Epic is the gold sub. Epic sub will always have better buff then legendary.
Yeah without a good wall gen defense doesn't work. Lol right now I got kiet chilling with decent siege buffs on him as well as his base range buffs being the highest out of most defense gens. Cav buff wall gens are designed best for HEAVY ralliers but it still leaves massive defensive holes unless you refine perfectly to boost balance. - Jadwiga in my experience is a little easier to setup and make work than Boudica but that's mostly my opinion not gospel fact.

I have lvl4s...siege machine attack, siege machine range bonus and mounted troop hit point. That last one is debatable.
