As someone who has slacked off during their entire bachelor's degree for cybersecurity, this video was awesome. There is so much more I want to learn and do. A lot of programs that I didn't even know about but look extremely useful and engaging. Also, you're really pretty❤️.
Thank you!! I'm really glad this could be helpful. Wishing you all the best in your learning and whatever path you decide to take! You got this! 😄🙌
One video for Bug Hunting (Beginners 0 Knowledge)
I'm crying, I was feeling so so overwhelmed as a Cybersecurity major with 0 background in IT and little funds. I'm so grateful for your videos, your aura is very calming and reassuring. I have some anxiety and was doubting myself in this field, especially with adhd. But this gave me more confidence and a clearer way to go about this. there's a lot of gatekeeping in this field, so this really helps.
You know why she left her cybersecurity jobs? Watch this you video and see how many sponsors she got from reputed companies!!
So what lmaoooooo
@@trabucks so how do you trust what she says is feasible? Her advise purely based on how much they paid her, not how effective the courses are
@Discover-Hidden because compared to my own research and watching other channels and listening to numerous podcasts I find her channel has similar information to those I named. When you're pursuing the actual field you see similarities but shown in different ways and methods
@@trabucks lmao goodluck

Please let me know if you think my road map is good: All are free except 5th. Taking 1 month for each. 😊
1. Isc 2 CC official course + exam after 3rd point.
2.cybrary IT and Cybersecurity foundations with labs ( networking fundamentals, scripting and programming, Operating systems, cybersecurity fundamentals)
3. Cisco Junior Cybersecurity Analyst ( foundations, networking basics, Networking Devices and Initial Configuration, endpoint security, network defense, cyber threat management)
4. Google cybersecurity professional certificate from Coursera
5. Hands on project like capture the flag, git hub open source contribution, heck the box et al .
Thank you 😊❤
I just passed my sec plus this week. Cant wait to start ccd or bt1 for hands on training.
Cloud security here I come.
You got this!! 😄💪💯
@@WithSandra cloud security and AI/ML is my Dual-specialization.
@@michaeldickerson98what certs do you have or recommend getting? I want to get into this field as well one day.
I needed thios today! I was just looking for an updated roadmap for GRC, thank you!
Great insight and information! I am currently studying for my Certified in Cyber cert from ISCC and looking forward to working on the labs.
So what makes you actually believe than anyone can realistically do this in 2 - 3 months? This is more like at least 2 - 3 full years. Has anyone actually gone from zero to hired in cybersecurity in less than 6 months? I dont think so.
There have been such cases
for real especially the comptia security+ book is lot to read in one month
I think she was referring to the Google cert being completed in 2-3months. Definitely not all she mentioned in the video. Sec+ is a 3-4, if not 5 month study by its itself.
@@tl0470 ok
@@tl0470 some people say they do in a week. Also, some of us needs jobs soon.
Sandra thank you so much for putting together this video. I felt the value of the information provided was exceptional high even in a condensed format.
If I was to follow the roadmap exactly as your explained how long do you think it would take to complete everything? Quickest and longest estimates? Thanks in advance!
Great video and much appreciated! What's your stance on ISC2 Certificate in Cybersecurity certificate (🤔)
Be back with my job by the ending of the year … 😗( lemme get the work)
Best of luck in your role!! :D
Wow, this was a LOT of info, gonna have to watch it again and jot down what I want to do lol
Thank You Sandra. This video was very informative. I'm torn on what to do because I always wanted to pursue cyber security. Back in college I was a Security, Risk and Analysis major which I did enjoy the classes. But I had to take a C++ class which killed my interest entirely and lost complete interest. I don't want to learn how to code but I do want to get into tech. I just don't know if maybe I should pursue something else outside of cyber security now.
I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about cybersecurity or the tech field in general. Realistically, would you still recommend pursuing a career in tech in today’s environment? It seems like the sector is coming down from a high and is already on a downtrend. From what I’m hearing, the market isn’t really looking good for entry-level positions, as employers want mid to high-level employees. Also, considering the impact of AI in the coming years, is a career in tech something I should even consider for the next 5-10 years, or should I explore other options? I appreciate any advice or insights you have to offer!
Your content is very helpful. Thank you very much for sharing.
This is such an amazing road map thank yoU!
Thank you Luca! Glad it could be helpful :)
thanks gorgeous for the info
Thanks again 💛🌻
Great advice for beginners!
Helpful, what will be the summary of this video, top 5 certs and hands on lab to be ready for a job?
Hi Sandra, your video and insights really helped me so thank you. :) Just want to get your opinion about Sec+. As a cyber security analyst, would you recommend taking it despite having a SSCP from ISC2?
Most of the entry level role are looking for Sec+ in particular. I stood my ground with one recruiter who rejected me outright because I do not have my Sec+. I told the recruiter that I have SSCP which is comparable with Sec+. :D
Yes why wouldn’t you? You could pass without even studying. Just get it
@@user-hb7rt2xp2t The cost of maintaining these certs.
ISC2 requires you to pay $125 AMF. If I have sec+ comptia’s annual fee is $50 it’s like paying $175 annually to maintain those.
IMO I would rather take maybe Cysa+ or CASP. But I would like to be strategic and think about it thoroughly if its worth taking sec+. If the logic behind it supersedes my reason then I will take it. Lol
@@user-hb7rt2xp2t
Mainly because of the cost of maintain these certifications.
For ISC2 you have to pay for $135 AMF, then for Comptia you need to pay for $50. I would like to see if there is a value of having two identical certificates. I would rather take CySA+ than Sec+. I just want to get the opinion of others and think about it. If it supersedes my reason then maybe I will have to consider Sec+ over CySa+ then.
This video was incredibly helpful and well-structured. Thank you for sharing such valuable information!
As someone who has already passed the CC exam and obtained a Google Professional Cybersecurity Certificate, I'm currently working towards the Security+ certification.
I've completed Professor Messer's Security+ RUclips playlist and the book 'Get Certified Get Ahead.'
However, I'm unsure if I'm fully prepared. Would you recommend also reading 'CompTIA Security+ Study Guide' by Mike Chapple and David Seidl?
Hello bro i have an doubt do i start with A+ or security+ as a beginner?
Hi,
While studying for the A+ exam is beneficial, you don't necessarily have to take the exam itself to pursue higher-level cybersecurity certifications. Consider exploring options like the Google Professional Cyber Security Certification on coursera (if u dont wanna pay the subscription do it on youtube at @Google Career Certificates
they upload all the content except assignments or quizez on ) or the Certified in cybersecurity (CC) offered by ISC².
@@NAVEED.I so what do I start with?
@@manthanjoshi6298 if you have background with computers go for security+
@@manthanjoshi6298I would recommend climbing the ladder if you can do it inexpensively through a program like WGU. A+ Network+ Security+. All three exponentially increase your hiring chances.
hi sandy :) do you believe a computer science degree is necessary for cysec path or is it feasible with the roadmap you have mapped-out :) ?!
Did you start out with A+ first?
@withsandra Great comprehensive video with Tons of information.
Also wanted to congratulate you on your Silver Play Button! You definitely an inspiration for me and my creator journey.

i have important information as well:
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I basically never passed in maths.
But I am a good learner and I was excellent in other subjects.
I am very very very poor in maths so should be pursuing a career in cybersecurity if maths is the only thing I am concerned about.
I know only basic maths addition subtraction, multiplication, division and nothing more than that.
Please reply.
Anyone else here with experience in this field love this channel but know the is 100% false for a beginner? And look at the course costs at 2k+ at "at least 100".
One commented correct as why make videos on your expertise. Because Google will pay you more than your company!
How do you feel about getting a degree in cyber security?
people are telling me to do cissp , its hell lot of costly.....the knowledge is good but not a practicaal stuff, that make me think, is it really worth. If anyone has already done it then do share your exp and how it helped you
You forgot the best blue team platform which is lets defend..
can i complete this courses using a tablet?
We want to learn Bug Hunting and Bounty
Thanks for the recc! I recommend watching @Hackersploit for this, he's awesome
Would you say the A+ certification is worth to get right now? And if I do, should I start applying for jobs? Or should I wait to get my Security + to apply for a job. I am also in college for cyber security so im all over the place.
If you're getting into cyber, then I'd go straight for Sec+. It's info heavy but the A+ is2 exams to get fully certified, which means 2x exam fee ($400+), where the Sec+ is already $400, it just doesnt make sense to get the A+ financially unless you're also considering starting a career in IT first then pivoting into cyber. Studying for the Sec+ while in college is perfect timing, and you likely alrdy have technical knowledge on the basics from your degree so you dont need the A+ as a pre-req. Best of luck studying!!

How do I find different cybersecurity groups in my area ?
Bsides.org! :) They're the biggest cyber local groups out there
@@WithSandra Ok thank you so much!!
Cyber Security is the most boring tech career in the industry. Not only you will lose your job if your company's data get breached. But you will lose other opportunities if you have bad references. People think it's a rewarding field. No! I will not recommend it unless you can handle the truth of it.
Actually, there's more hiring after a cybersecurity breach based on this Stanford research paper 👀 digitaleconomy.stanford.edu/publications/cybersecurity-hiring-in-response-to-data-breaches/ Though I cant argue about cyber careers being boring since its different based on what you look for in a job, I've had some boring roles but many of them have been pretty fun, also depends on your team/manager! Appreciate your thoughts on this!
Dang who hurt you
Oh stop the pessimistic angle ...if a data structure is attacked...it would just be nature to require by natural default ...to add or improve with more countermeasures.
This is simple cause and effect instincts.
@@Dee-zy2xv ok 😂 good luck 🤞
This is like saying if a IT Technician causes some issue to go unfixed he or she will go without a job. Or if a Software Developer causes a bug he or she will lose their job. People make these mistakes everyday more than you think, most of the time you keep it except you get trained on how to prevent it in the future
