SE2 Alpha takes me back to SE1 (with insane visual improvements), with the community already creating amazing ships and pushing the engine to its limits!
exactly, it has more features than SE did when it first launched into early already, im excited
Absolutely.
Also we know that we can trust these guys not to abandon it half way through BC if that were to happen it certainly would have happened with SE1. Many said it would happen but it didn't and so here we are.
Here's to another decade of smashing spaceships into each other as a sacrifice to the almighty KLANG
I bought it. I havnt played it much because, well... There isnt much there yet, vut i wanted to support because i agree, its going to be something special
I hate it when people were demanding the ALPHA to be released earlier and they kept complaining but when ALPHA finally released, then they complained that the game was incomplete and that they had wasted their money, it's as if the words ALPHA and EARLY ACCESS weren't clear enough, when it was actually advertised everywhere where it said SE2, if you wanted a complete game you shouldn't have bought it during alpha and then gone and actually spent enough time playing as to make refunds impossible, and then they go and leave a negative review. These people are annoying and disappointing. Just give the game some time, the SE2 team at Keen are working very hard to make this game perfect.
Apologies for crash out
Make that top Comment 👏
Justified crash out and they also didn't have any incentives like skins or getting to play a few days early for them to preorder so it is really on them
Personally, as a 27-year-old, Space Engineers has been my go-to for scratching that "Minecraft-itch" ever since planets were introduced. I’ve played a lot of Minecraft, ARK, and other survival-crafting games, plus a variety of different genres, but I always find myself coming back to SE-probably once a year-playing another 30-50 hours on a fresh world.
The survival start in SE is, in my opinion, absolutely peak. On planets, the first objective is getting into space, and on the more hostile ones, just staying alive is already a challenge. My personal favorite is starting on the Moon, mostly for the vibes-the lighting is just so damn good. The danger at first doesn’t come from hostile NPCs but from the environment itself. But then, I’ve also spent entire nights messing around in creative mode with a friend, with and without mods-building wobbling laser cannon towers or at the beginning of early-access, slapping dozens (or hundreds) of thrusters onto a massive slab of armor and crashing them into each other, or drilling holes into asteroids and turning them into bases, just imagining what could be.
While I haven’t bought the Alpha yet (I just started a new SE1 world, and one of my favorite franchises (a certain monster-slaying game ;) ) is about to get a new addition, I’m excited to hop into SE2 in a few months and start building. The possibilities the vRage3 engine seems to bring look absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait.
My one big hope is that SE2 offers more progression for pure PvE players like myself. For example, when you first leave the Earth-like planet... now what? On servers with friends who have little or no experience with the game, starting on an Earth-like planet makes the most sense, but we’ve more than reached that “now what” moment. Changes like putting uranium exclusively in space make expansion feel meaningful, and I hope to see more systems like that in SE2. Prototec is a good start, but I’d love to see even more unique resources across different planets-maybe an exclusive alien laser weapon that requires a special ore from an alien world, or a rare defensive material that only exists on Triton. Composites of ores found on separate planets could encourage exploration, and AI-controlled drones that feed into a conveyor network could add a new layer of automation that players have to oversee.
I absolutely see the potential for SE2 to become this amazing mix of factory-builder, survival, and space-crafting PvE, and I wish the whole team at KSH all the success and motivation they need-and then some!
-drunkenly written by me, made readable and hopefully still bringin my point across by chatgpt. k thx bye
Can't wait for survival mode.
@@XCharlotteMorningstarX That's actually far from the truth.
Transparency ftw 🔥
Lol

This game is going to be the next pinnacle of what a sci-fi survival game should be. I'm proud to say I was here at Day 1 ❤️
Checking the feedback/support forum every day, so that we may yet see a more enjoyable survival experience once that comes along!
I am working on a Steam controller layout it's great so far for walking around and piloting but not building still working on it will share when I get it decent if you wanna use controller on SE2.
0:52 lol the way he started the shhh in shaped for a split sec I thought he was going to say "looking back Space engineers one was sh*t" 😂😂
No hate love keen and the games but it made me giggle
I just never play SE in creative mode. So im just gonna wait for the survival update. But I'll follow along with the dev. Spent almost 1000h on SE1. I intend to do at least the same in SE2 once survival is up and running. Keep up the good work ❤
1:10 Thanks for showing my Fighter "Ashura" (Dart_002), I'm really glad you enjoyed my build!
Cant wait to see this take shape.
One thing I would love to see is a competitive multiplayer mode, you get a block that you need to protect and other teams have to try and destroy yours while protecting theirs.
Limited amounts of blocks and such.
Could do a variety of settings, on planet, in open space, on a moon, inside an asteroid etc etc.
I think it would be a blast
The future looks bright; Its still very early on, but communication like this makes it easier to have faith in the project; plus, for being so early alpha, it looks good performs well and has loads of room for creativity. Keep it up!! Personally looking forward to Wheels, Rotors, Pistons, and other gadgets to really add the engineering element to things!
honestly if you push out survival faster you will put a smile on everyones face let people craft/mine at least - give them a reason to play & interact with the world ( I hope you see this long time fan! & I hope it doesn't take too long to roll out the survival slice x.x good luck looking forward
57 secs O.o thats my shipp xD the green freighter
I have watched videos and agreed with the roadmap completely. There is no issues at all. Should I report small bugs?
yes :)
Will start testing it more thoroughly once the option to change keybinds is in.
And for the love of Klang, put panels in. I Panels, L Panels, [ Panels, C Panels etc., and Light Panels.
Also, Corridors, Room Blocks, and Passages +++.
Hoping all SE1 blocks will be in SE2 eventually, and more.
That game needs a vr update
it dont!
no
I love SE. I don't really have any desire to play SE2 in its current state. bought the pioneer edition anyway, just to support :-)
I'm excited for when I can stream it to my Steam Deck. The controller input worked halfway (b rolls right, but there's no button that rolls left lol), but my latest attempt didn't recognize Steam Deck input at all. I'm impressed with the controller input for SE1, and I hope that the same or better is implemented for SE2.
One thing I would love to see in SE2 is Cosmic Storms, it would look amazing, as the metro storm was cool but with the graphics of SE 2 storms would look stunning.
We have got to get multiplayer in soon. I enjoy it but multiplayer makes it so much more enjoyable.
Looking at SE2 I understand that you are the craziest guys in the observable universe!!!
I am a simple person, I see Cali Class and I click like
we need more blocks over and out!
The Mega Maid made me laugh. SHES CHANGED FROM SUCK TO BLOW!!
Seriously though, I won’t be playing until all the blocks are in the game. I’ve already bought it but my PC needs an upgrade too. So that’s two reasons to wait.
00:52 I thought Arron was going to say something else then. 🤣
It would’ve been so funny if he said that
I think a demo would be great bring in new player mkre data and feed back seems a win win to me why not?
No views is crazy! It's still awesome hearing Aaron's voice in a SE2 video!
Will you be adding a small gravity generator for space engineers 1?
A good idea for the team: give new and SE1 players a chance to try this before buying. Let them see if it's worth their investment maybe release this alpha version as a demo so people can experiment. That way if they like it and want to experience all the other features released after they will buy! Just an idea! Love the work you are all doing ❤
I like the idea of a demo a lot. Even if it is just to see if the game will run with your current system
@Sawell123 exactly, especially since this version of the game so far is basically a tech demo. Maybe after the next update comes out they leave this version as a demo for people to try out the new game before fully commiting
can we get a merge block that can be disabled at will ? meaning once connected it all serves as one grid but when detached it becomes it's own grid ? like you having modular drills on demand when you need to swap it out from example extra cargo or something ( like a way easier way to detach things ) i feel like landing gear/magnetic plate etc isn't enough for some types of builds. the grid system kinda needs some extra rules to it. when locked = one grid when unlocked you separate into 2 grids. and easily lock into 1 grid again, could add some nice piston movement when locking and have different animations for the locking side as to the locked side. ( like 2 different blocks where one is the thing that is inserted into the lock the other IS the lock ) this also means any conveyor needs to be able to function if you want to swap to drills which sends stuff to the cargo from one " grid " to the next but it's technically 1 grid when locked.
alot of words trying to explain it, tldr; new locking blocks where you have 2 grids become one grid and can also separate into 2 grids again for easy swap between drills and weapons and cargo.
I wanna play soooo bad!!! Unfortunately my laptop is on a memory strike.....
When Invert Y-Axis? I want to be part of the raw rough early experience, and can't play because of this missing feature. You talk transparency. No commitment or comment has been made as to when this might be fixed. Please at least give a clue.
0:43 ie: fund it...
Please add mouse inversion, thank you.
The only reason I'm not getting it yet, is because I'm playing with a friend and I'm worried I might not be able to go back to the first game and enjoy it as much.. 😂
That being said, would like a guesstimation of when multi-player comes out for this one, I can see it's pretty late on the roadmap..
We released a game without working doors. We need your feedback.
Join us on the journey of door development. 🤣
Hell at least they didn't slap a 70 dollar price tag on it an call it good, honestly if we're gonna be involved in a developing game then from a certain perspective I'd rather have community input for 95 percent of it rather than just the last 5 especially considering we aren't really going on nothing here, but that's just me, Medieval Engineers might've left a sour taste but while it was active the dev cycle was a good ride, and frankly if starting from scratch is what it takes to get another decade of progress from spaghetti code mess of SE1 then so be it, call it 'jaded positivity' I suppose.
@@sarianosblack1519Entry price till it releases and gets DLCs.
it's an alpha. Not a "released game" I'm surprised it works as well as it does and looks as good as it does. Now, it could have been more specific on just HOW limited it was, sure. But it's still an alpha, not a completed released game.
Hello there.
Believe me, I wanna get the game now and start testing l. But unfortunately my low end machine can't quite handle it. However, there is definitely one criticism that I can give about the game that I have always given. Give me space cows 🚀🐄
It runs ok on my boyfriend's laptop.
@stavinaircaeruleum2275 My PC was grown in the fields of Idaho. It has a MSI GPU running on FX 750 drivers. When I tried to play it, the game closed and a message pipped up saying my GPU doesn't have support for something. I forget what tho
Quick question!
Will everything I build in early access be deleted after the full game releases
I doubt it, but I also doubt it'll work once proper power systems are implemented
Dear Santa,
Seemless, tileable windows please. I need a 1x1 window without frame, so I can make windows in whatever size I need.
I am currently playing SE1 and need a 5x4 window for my Refinery building.
And a good mod interface/api so modders won't have to fix their mods with every update. Again. I don't care if I have to use mod io or Steam.
A decent UI would be nice to. Especially to configure amount, difficulty, behavior of npc encounters. MeridiusIX aka MES "retired".
Why this game is better than Blender or UE? There you can also make nice 3d spaceships and share it with others
Aka you give them money while they use you for free labor 🤣 What a time to be alive! The digital slave age is beautiful!
Still better than Microcraft
@@Myrkanth Still a sh*t model for us players. How about give the players that are paying to help them by giving them something. Incentives, discounts, special gifts, anything other than absolutely nothing. They entice players with "you can play our "game" now!" which means jack squat since you are building the game for them and again, you give them money to do so.
@@BaliAgha They literally said don't purchase the alpha if you're expecting a game and I'd hope you know what alpha's purposes are in its stage lol. Yea that sounds so enticing 😂 and y'all are just upset because you choose to ignore researching a product before you buy and want to spend your energy pretending to be vigilantes and blame devs.
Please consider moving up the addition of multiplayer! Me and my friends would love to play together, even in the game's current state of development.
O can’t wait to play SE 2 in Xbox! I love how it looks!
How about having control remapping?
THANKS SO MUCH FOR USING MY BUILDS KEEN (gruller65) keep killing it
The Alpha is cool and all but It's stupid expensive for what it is. Should have started at 15$ and gradually work It's way to 40$...
I get your sentiment, but at the same time, why? You're getting the full version of the game whether you buy it now or later. It's not like the 15$ version will contain any less features. You're paying the full price for a full game with the only difference that you are able to shape the features of the full release which comes at the risk of the game not becoming the game you want.
Seriously, if you want a full game for the price, then don't buy it yet.
Amazing video, Despite no jobs and people can no longer afford to live, people will be lining up to live off the government. Acquiring $63k monthly is indeed a blessing.
Where did you get that figure from?
Well, I picked the challenge to put my finances in order. Then I invested in cryptocurrency, stocks, through the assistance of my discretiotnary fund manager, Amelia Naik
Wow I know Amelia Naik. Her platform maintains a unique perspective and is very transparent with their investors. Regardless of whether or not she outperforms. I will forever stay invested!
Same here I have made more than 90k
God bless MRS Amelia Naik. God bless America🇺🇸
I’m not here to converse for her to testify just for what I’m sure of, she’s trustworthy and best option ever seen.
"Vertical Slice 1" - missing half the blocks.. So maybe vertical slice .5?
More blocks, even when not having function!
2.5 minutes to say nothing.
Space Engineers 2 couldve gained Hundreds of thousands of players instead someone was like lets BURN MONEY by releasing the game in an early access ALPHA stage were we dont even have gameplay... New players first impressions "why is there nothing to do" and "im gonna refund and tell people not to buy this Game" yep good job guys u know how to burn Money.
Medieval engineers remember
When space engineers 1 is capped off and finished I say those devs go over to medieval engineers and finish it.
I remember years of upgrades in m engineers even when barely anyone was playing that thing
It's weird how you start by describing this video as a "deep dive" when there's quite objectively nothing deep about it.
S1 version 2 ...
first
we're paying for a demo....
We’re paying to support keen and be a part of the development
It’s not like they bloody lied about what would be there in vertical slice 1
I see it as I pre-ordered the game, but they are letting us play it during development...
@FM_DOS_GURI Damn really?! If only keen had said so multiple times for the past 6 months
not quite, we paid for an alpha. so close, though!
If English isn't the OPs first language I understand; if not... #roomtempertureiq
SE2 brings many desired improvements, but imo, all are overshadowed by one simple sad fact: we are still looking at these ugly, blocky, minecraft like looking ass ships… 😒
Wait till it gets out of alpha then
