- Fixing stripped threads in aluminum or steel is a simple job if you use a helical thread insert - whether the name brand Helicoil or another one. In this video I'll show you how to drill, tap and install the repair insert.
Tools Used in this video:
Helical Thread Repair Kit: amzn.to/3sVYLV0
Use Red Loctite on the Coil. Keeps it from unscrewing out.
I hope its never needs to be unscrews for equipment repairment
Awesome video demonstration 🍻
Thanks
Those coils can be use for m4*15mm bolts ?
I don't have anything as small as m4, but I suspect there's either a coil style or an insert
Where does the tab go once broken off?
This hole goes all the way through, so it fell on the driveway
@@YoshimoshiGarage I see. So if it didn't go all the way through, would you fish the tab out with a magnet?
Probably, yes. Or a shot of compressed air
So, how long are these taps? My 6x14mm aluminum hole stripped out.
The 6mm is about 2.25" of reach pas the tap holder
@@YoshimoshiGarageI love the way you use metric and imperial in the same sentence just to confuse people a bit more bit like Double Dutch 😮
Without having them at hand, I guess you could count the ridges. Should at least get you very close.
