    Oh and another takeaway, if you use a drone for commercial work, you need to be part107 certified. Commercial work includes social media like RUclips if you plan to make an income off of that. I watched a video about this last May and then purchased the Part 107 Course sso.teachable.... I studied and learned for 1 month and then took my test. I scored a 95%, which is a testament to how good Greg and the crew over there teach. That link will save you $100 off the course and support this channel.

    2inch overlap is more than I'm used to. I've always done 1 1/8 overlap.
    Using the smart side tool for gauges and it also has all numbers for lines on the tool

    Man you always make me laugh great sense of humor. I bet you best him up when y'all were little. I personally prefer the shake shingle look. I've worked in construction my whole life and the houses I've worked on mainly we're built in the four ties and fifties etc and twenty five inch centers on walls was common with sheathing inside and outside a lot of them the inside wall finish was a fabric with a cotton type backing man can they hold some dust and rat and whatever poop pee. I should have stayed in new construction and gotten out of fixing those old unlevel unplumb homes anyways always ready like y'all's videos thanks

    Are you suppose to put some kind of flashing behind the butt joints?

  • @bchdsailor
    @bchdsailor 10 месяцев назад

    In Norway you must include at least 23mm air gap between siding and house wrap / external plaster board / OSB / ZIP-System
    Internal gap between vapour barrier has to be 48mm (also to allow for piping and electrical conduits without breaking vapour barrier)
    External wall framework must be minimum 48mm x 198mm plus internal and external air gap

    Pan flash is the only way imo, why introduce more maintenance to a "maintenance free" product. No one does exterior maintenance so imo my job is to make it a as maintenance free as possible.

      We've had corner boards over our siding here in Sweden since like forever. And I have not to this day seen a rotted out or water damaged corner in a house.
      Well that's a lie. But leaks from the upstairs bathroom has nothing to do with the corner boards.

    Caulking at the windows will also help those shingles not move away from the trim which usually results in a ugly gap

    in canada we are required by code to put straping on the sheeting around the house to have an air flow between the siding and the sheeting. except the difference in weather do you know why this doesn't apply to you guys? i just don't understand why yon don't have to!
