3:23 Here’s how I interpret this scene. Poland is glowing white because he’s like a spark of hope and compassion in the utter mess that is Reich’s mental state. That part is obvious. But what I find interesting is how Reich perceives the Soviet Union. He’s portrayed in a really ominous, threatening way. Which is strange. According to Oh Lol U’s other works, Reich and the Soviet Union love each other (personally, I don’t agree with the ship, but Oh Lol U makes it work somehow). So why would Reich be afraid? When you think about it, it starts to make sense. The Soviet Union has basically been acting as Reich’s warden for the past nine years. And even though he means well, we have seen that he has snapped at Reich before. And in his dream, Reich sees the Soviet Union as the one keeping him in his cage, punishing him when he bites. So no wonder that Reich sees him as this terrifying beast. The person I’m most worried for is the Soviet Union. For the past nine years, he’s been working to get his love back to normal. Not only that, he has been constantly berated and put under stress by the other countries. So how will he react when he finds out he’s the problem? It’ll destroy him, to put it bluntly.

Big ass assumption is that GE is actually fault for TR's illness (BTW thats also my headcanon and I already see people come at me on ao3 and say that I stole your idea if it actually pops out to be like my theory :'D). Austria-Hungary probably doesn't even know what he did to his son, but to be fair I have no idea what GE possibly could have done for TR to act like this. Maybe TR even acts like he does with ussr because he maybe sees Soviet as GE because of the close height that they have. But on the other hand TR seems to recognize ussr at least a little bit (because of episode 1's beginning).
I'm super exited for the next episode and to see more of GE (aka how he reacts) and of course TR reaction to seeing GE IF my assumption is indeed correct

Edit: nvm. I didn't see the last three seconds till now. GE is totally the reason why TR is like that. Can't change my mind- XD
Edit2: maybe GE didn't do something against TR intentionally but maybe he saw/heard/knew something he shouldn't? Or maybe it has something to do with the Reichtangle version of GE? because the picture scene with GE and Weimar/Third in episode 1 maybe speaks a bit against my prior theory (but I have to be honest. I still have a feeling that GE, for whatever reason, does not want Third to be alive anymore. Maybe he is angry towards Third because he took away his son Weimar (aka Weimar became Third, taking GEs and AHs son Weimar away, if that made any sense)?
I like your theory and can I possibly know your ao3 acc or the book name? I would love to read it since I also have some mix feelings about whether GE is a good or bad father to reich and I love angst :>
I don't think so. He's his father, he might just be extremely angry to discover his son was alive all this time without anyone telling him. In the author HC in german family, the famous german dictator made him like this, i think it's the same here.
Maybe it's not, but we saw on the first episode that GE was keeping a picture of his son. He seems to really care about him.

I'd like to think that why G.E reacted that way towards the end when UN asked him to come to also help reich since USSR said that in the past they asked them on how's reich doing and they didnt respond. And in the other episode(i think first) AHE said 'He must be happy in another world' as the last scene of the video. So maybe AHE and GE thought he was dead? But the thing is why was GE mad instead of happy or something to hear that his son isnt actually dead- i think it's kinda simple, that they lied to them thinking that their only child is gone and just to ask if they could help reich with the 'problem'. And the fact that they were supposed to take care of reich, then why did he need help? And why they kept it a secret. And AHE probably needs to stay with GE to keep him checked but AHE will prob be also pissed abt it. I'm guessing next episode GE will confront UN and the others abt it? Not sure.
