I first got into kpop because I had just gotten into kdrama. I watched the series Boys Over Flowers, and found out that one of the main characters was part of this band called SS501. So i started listening to their music. From there, I saw the music video from Nu'est called Face. I instantly fell in love. After Nu'est, I heard the song Mama from Exo, and I started listening to all of the songs from Exo that I could find. Along with Exo came Big Bang. This was all in 2016. Then a friend of mine asked if I liked BTS. I said yes, but I think I had gotten BTS and Big Bang mixed up. Anyways, I started to listen to BTS songs, starting with Blood Sweat and Tears. And just like that I fell down the BTS Rabbit hole lol. To this day, I'd rather listen to kpop than to any song put out locally. Oh, and by the way, the song Boom Boom is what got me into Seventeen.
CL Hello Bitches got me into kpop and I watched a bunch of random groups after that. I then forgot everything lol oops but years later I came back around 2018 with blackpink. Now i’m a multi stan of both gg and bg. So many groups and so much talent I love it all.
My journey into kpop was interesting. Cause I was on the fence with it a lot after seeing how some "fans" would act about kpop which low key made me scared lol. However my best friends in high school were both ARMY and also dabbled in other groups so they convinced me to try it. So i we gathered at one of their places to find what or who I would enjoy. We reacted to a few BTS songs, Blackpink, NCT, and a few others. BUT THEN!! Straykids came into my life. The songs that really got me was Gods Menu. It was such a different vibe than everything else i had seen up until that point and i have never turned back. I am a proud STAY and fan of kpop now and always love the new wave if music that comes from each group 💕💕
Baby Army here👋🏾💜 JK started it for me with standing next to you. I heard the song for the first time on Ushers album. I’ve been learning more and more about K-pop since then.
i live in a small city in germany (literally 40k population with a majority being over 50yo) and imagine my shock when red velvet's automatic was playing in our h&m
Black Swan! Their English songs were good but not really my style but I heard them sing Black Swan on Carpool Karaoke and down the rabbit hole I went and never looked back.
For me I believe it was either fake love or black swan by bts because I had a friend that listened to them which made me wanna listen too back in 2015 I believe it was when I first got into K-pop
i used to legimately cringe at kpop a few years ago and that's mainly because i had this guy i liked that didn't like kpop and at the same time i'd never really listened to kpop before (except gangnam style is ofc kpop but i dont really like that song) so i didnt really know if it was good or not. turns out, i dated that guy, he was super toxic, manipulative, and full of crap. he didn't care if i was uncomfortable doing something, so if anything that was just a scam and it lead to a messy breakup. but then a little over two years ago, i found a youtube video in my recommended that was something about how billie eilish said the grammys did bts wrong and i love billie eilish, so i checked out the bts' grammy performance and FELL IN LOVE. it was crazy. after that, i started diving into other kpop groups too, but bts is still my main. i love them. they even helped me overcome the breakup i had with the toxic guy lmao. they really did me a favor though, they're amazing. 💜 also on a pep band trip this year, i showed one of my friends jungkook's standing next to you and she loved it, meanwhile she wasn't too much of a fan of other bts performances. i mean who could not though? it's giving michael jackson and the vibe is just out of this world. i couldn't tell you how many times i rewatched the performances and music video of that song over the next month or two after it came out. anyways!!! love your videos and reactions! :)
My dad got me into kpop with Girl's Generation - Bad Girl, After School - Bang! and SHINee - Ring ding dong, those songs are mainly the first kpop songs I heard in my life now with this video I feel really old xD😭
My first K-pop song was Haru Haru by BIGBANG. It was 2008 and I didn't know it was in Korean but I liked it lol In 2011, I heard another song by them called "Tonight" and it was right up my alley. I was hooked from there. It's been an off an on journey with music (also any other hobby) because of my depression but I can say that I never lived without K-pop since then, even if it was the same songs in rotation for a few years. I love K-pop and I love your content too. Keep going and achieving your dreams and ambitions~

You know my first Straykids song was I am you. But listen, me and my friend was walking to class one day and I asked her what song she was listening to and she was like “I am you by Straykids” and I was “oh ew” (but that’s me saying that without actually hearing the song) then added, “well I’m listening to wonderland by Ateez” (which is actually also my first song by them).
