Totally agree with your review, Alisha. I liked how it defined my curls but hated the "sticky" feeling it left on everything it touched. I tried it again combined with the Curl Enhancing Smoothie and it worked much better.
Use it with the leave in they have. A little goes a long way you get a nice soft hold with your twist out and no sticky feeling. It is tricky to use but once you figure it out. You get a great yet soft hold. When I first used this product I over did it and thought it was greasy and sticky. I recently revisited it, used it the right way and now I'm in love, lol.
if the product comes and is clumped together like jam/jelly its not a bad batch just whisk it for 5mins with a fork and it goes back to normal and doesn't seperate again after that. no clue why it comes like that though
Gave this gel souffle another try after using it unsuccessfully years ago. I got the best Bantu knot out ever on my 4c hair just using a tad like some suggested layered with hair mimosas honey. A little tab will do!
I just bought this. ..and they must have fixed it..cause its perfect...I hate my twist outs usually..this left my hair moisturized..not sticky..no residue!
The product is meant to be melted in the palms before application. Apply after your leave in. Emulsify to a smooth gel in your hands first, don’t apply it in clumps. It’s got great hold and shine especially after you SOTC
When I got it at the beauty supply in Toronto, I think I got a bad batch. It seperates and clumps into balls. I have tried several times to use it for my wash and gos, but it never dries. I was going to give up, but now seeing your gel souffle I think it is just a bad batch..sigh.
OMG.. could not get that gel on my hair because it was all in chunks I could not mix it to where I could apply it... the chunks just would fall to the floor. It was a disaster and I’m going to return it tomorrow. I had never seen a hair product like that... it was like a sticky jello dessert
Did you say this retails for $18??!! Where did you buy it? I purchase mine at Sally's Beauty Supply for $11. Good review by the way. I have a love/hate relationship with the product. I'm still trying to perfect my technique while using it.
MsLonda1218 oh wow!!!! I bought at BCI Scarborough. The more watered down it is the better is it. I know how you feel. It takes some playing with the consistancy but now I prefer it over the curl enhancing smoothie
@@FruitoftheVine That is pretty high too. It is $9.67 on Walmart.com. If you show them that price in the store, you should be able to get it for that price too. Not guarenteed. The most I see in their prices for Shea Moisture is $11.99

Lelo Hey =)Glad you got it to work for you, it is a tricky one lol
It works great with the Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style milk so moisturizing.
I just used this product for the first time. It gave my hair a great shine awesome smell. It separated my curls but my hair feels crispy
+sujey Gonzalez try using on damper hair next time. If you still don't like the feel lemme know and I'll suggest some lighter products for you 😀

Thanks for this tip! My last jar came like this, and I was going to take it back to the store.

Girl they are still giving out "bad batches" I wonder if it's a formula change

I love your hair color!! Do you color it at home? If so, what color is it?!
+peeweerocks2002 Thanks. I got it done at Studio Fontana
+Alisha's Guide it looks gorgeous! Thanks for replying!
Oh, I see about the price. Canada vs USA.
+MsLonda1218 It is about $18 here in Canada.
Go to walgreens or walmart! They sell it for around $10!
+Jessii Carney They don't sell it in Canadian Walmarts and we don't have Walgreens here either =(
Ah, I see :(
What is your hair porosity? That may the reason you can't layer the products
My hair is quite porous always soaking up product and moisture in the air lol
I just bought this product at cvs for $9
+Kyelon Lee What a steal!! I paid so much for it! Hope you like it
Kyelon Lee no way! I literally just bought it at my cvs for over 15 dollars!
@@alishainc Where did you pay $18? I am curious to know who sells it that high!!!

It works better if you heat it up first.
Interesting. Never thought of that. Thanks for the tip
I like this product however the build up is unbearable
Agreed. It does build up a lot watering it down helps a lot
I didn't like the fact that it's sticky
Por favor, me puedes explicar en español??
+Marlin Peña I only speak English though
It took me forever to wash the Curling Gel Souffle out of my hair.
+Deyonna Tate lol it can be intense that's why less is more and a good clarifying shampoo is probably a good idea 🙃
