I tried doing this back in the 80s too,no where near as good as this man,I had a gli mixer, when I bought it you got a free tshirt which had “I rely on GLI” printed on it
@@velvetmedias Beaucoup d'entrainement.
For todays laptop only Dj’s I’d like to see y’all do this without a laptop and see how many times that needle skips on you or try finding the cue points on the first try. This dude’s routine was dope.
Anybody who doesn't like this, is completely out of touch with the time period. For him to do this in 1989 is AMAZING!
Still amazing, especially compared to edm dj's now.
Especially as it was only 4 days ago, amazing time travel

Without headphones... FK amazing... Dude was sick in1989 💯
listen up people. This is what you call ''TALENT.'' This is skill is the most raw form.
Not a headphone to be seen, kills it.
Wow, what an advance in skills, style and confidence from his 1987 set
and '87 was still mind blowing, this one is too, in a different way.
Yep
Ahead of his time with the quick fader cuts and juggling like that… For 1989, this is dope!!!
Cuts and juggling didn’t start in 1989. He was watching Bronx DJs to learn because they were juggling in the 70s

Agree!
just finished the Netflix series based on him. badass
I’ll definitely check that out !
What's it called?
Reign Supreme. It’s more about the rise of hip hop in france, but a lot of it involves him. It’s a period piece drama and not a documentary fyi
