@myytfamily No, she put the country and people before herself, as she can no longer serve to the extent she want and needs to due to her health and age. @EEmB She has an Heir to whom she could have delegated tasks, not abdicated her duties and responsibilities. Abdication weakens the Monarchy, makes them replaceable and thus removable. Shameful.

They don't have a slight that they think they have to make up for even though QEII came to the conclusion that she did. She's not going to win the longevity award and she's already put in 52 years so if she feels like that she should do it. It doesn't make her any less of a queen.
Queen Margethe and Queen Elizabeth were very close second cousins. After contracting covid (again) at Queen Elizabeth's funeral, it's not surprising that her health is of concern. Many blessings to Queen Margrethe, and long live the Danish monarchy.

There will be no inauguration ceremony for the new king. Nothing like what you (maybe) saw when Prince Charles was 'turned into a king'. Our prime minister will just step out on the balcony of the parliament, along with crown prince Frederik, and declare him the king. That's it. What? There are no rules in regard to that, there are only personal preferences. QEII made a vow in 1947 that her entire life long or short blah blah blah. They are wonderful keepers of history. I don't understand why more people aren't celebrating it. I just finished watching the crown (I know how everyone feels about that but) one of the episodes had them cutting back on professions that the prime minister's office didn't feel necessary. Such as the keepers of the Swans, the keeper of the China and Crystal, the folder of the linen, The Grand Falconer, et cetera et cetera. And in the show they had the queen summon them all to explain their jobs to see if they should be done away with. You had people showing up in full regalia if you like with several hundred 100 year old notebooks that explains exactly why and where and how these professions are done and it was magnificent. It's something no other country has. I found it quite fascinating when I was watching the actual coronation because the chief Falconer showed up to get rid of birds before the crowd started to arrive it was marvellous and he does this before any of these huge tadas.@@EF5Winds
Charles and Camilla are doing fine now but they are aging fast in their mid 70s. Charles’s reign is likely going to be short like Edward VII. I don’t see him living as long as his parents. Princess Anne looks as if she will go strong well into her 90s.

You have been a great queen, THANK YOU. May your son and daugther in law follow your respectful and humble way of being this kingdom's guideline❤

🤔
So great she abdicated her duty.
@@myytfamily Shut up. Quite with your nonsense!
@@Kursiti_iswar69 Oh dear, I touched a raw nerve: abdication means abdication of post and abdication of duty: how very embarrassing.
@myytfamily No, she put the country and people before herself, as she can no longer serve to the extent she want and needs to due to her health and age. It's part of ones duty to realise what is best of the ones you serve, that is putting duty before herself or her ego, and that ment abdicating.
I hope you turn your life around and do some good with your life. It's a new year now, it's still time. You can still stop trolling online and start serve others.
@EEmB She has an Heir to whom she could have delegated tasks, not abdicated her duties and responsibilities. Abdication weakens the Monarchy, makes them replaceable and thus removable. Shameful.
Great Queen 💯
And an unnecessary abdication.
You need to get over yourself. This wasn't a slight against you so quit acting as if it was. If Frederick is going to do the work of a King he should have the title of King. It does not affect you in any way. We are our own country, why do we have to look to the UK to model our behaviour after?@@Juulmand1

Yes.
They don't have a slight that they think they have to make up for even though QEII came to the conclusion that she did. She's not going to win the longevity award and she's already put in 52 years so if she feels like that she should do it. It doesn't make her any less of a queen.
She still is. She's put in over 50 years give her a break.
God bless you, your Majesty. Hopefully a healthy retirement! ❤️🇺🇸
Queen Margethe and Queen Elizabeth were very close second cousins. After contracting covid (again) at Queen Elizabeth's funeral, it's not surprising that her health is of concern.
Many blessings to Queen Margrethe, and long live the Danish monarchy.
They don't have a slight that they think they have to make up for even though QEII came to the conclusion that she did. Her bigger problem was the back surgeries. I'm sure they feel fortunate that you're diagnosing their problems though, well done you.

I am happy for Queen Margarethe II. She should be able to live out the rest of her life doing the things she wants to do. I think that this should be done with all Monarchy’s. Why wait until the current Monarch passes away? Let them live their golden years in peace and doing what they have never been able to do. I have much respect for her as she is the last Queen Regnant for some time now.
What? There are no rules in regard to that, there are only personal preferences. QEII made a vow in 1947 that her entire life long or short blah blah blah. And every king and Queen that came before her except for one did that same thing. You have much respect for her because she's the last queen regnant for some time now? Is 14 months a lot of time for you because that's all she's been.

She will keep her title and remain queen
@@EF5Winds She will continue to be "Queen" and "Her Majesty", so much is clear since it already have been announced. Which possible combinations of that you can make, is unknown to me. I for example don't know if "Her Majesty Queen Margrethe of Denmark" is a possibility or she if she _merely_ will become "Her Majesty Queen Margrethe". My guess would be the latter, since the former is a little too close to Mary's

Will there be a coronation??
no, danes do a simple proclamation ceremony. the brits are really the only ones who do a coronation these days.
