My initial reaction was that the jellyfish at the end has the logos of all three idol groups, which hints at a splatfest between them.
The more developed reaction is they're wearing concert bands, so it may not be splatfest related at all..
I hope that's not the case, the final Splatfest always affects the next game and I do *not* want 5 more years of Squid Sisters Purgatory. They're great and all but Nintendo focuses a little too much on them compared to other idols

Probably so it has a direct hit one-shot window, but is used primarily like an area denial bomb when it reaches its max range. Different to normal bow where it's area denial is short range and it's direct kill is long range.

Or just... Put cover in the middle of parallel snipes? Like, its the one place where a pole in the center of the snipe would make sense, because you can right side peek from both sides. Even just putting like, a block in the middle of the grating would do so much.

JP Twitter showed off both kits of the wellstring today, the other one is point sensor wave breaker. Yes, we're getting both of them this update. Not sure how I feel about that.

@@saycap Facts. As much as it hurts to admit, the most they are extending it is to drizzle season 2024, and even that is uncertain at this point.
Rip bow players they lost
for Mint Decavitator:
- longer Dash
- really **THICC** tapshot paint
- charge slash is true melee (like grizz sword)
- no vertical slash = no ledge poking
Something else I noticed, but maybe I'm gaslighting myself into seeing things I want to see, but did you notice how quickly it goes from a squid roll into a dash-slash?
So either it can slash out of a squid roll (which would be cool and unique) or it can hold its charge. Or I'm just imagining that and it's no different from a normal charge slash.
@@lazarus3100 seems like its just a fast charge, i watched the trailer at 0.25x speed, there was no glowing. although that would be a great mechanic for a splatana
It looks like the explosive bolts of Wellstring each do at least 50 damage. The OHKO area from the bolts seemed absolutely ridiculous. Both players splatted by the bolts were not hit by the initial shot at all.
My friend and I were speculating they each did somewhere from 20-30 damage on their own. When the bow full charges they’re all super close which makes the damage look insane but we’ll have to wait and see
They did have chip damage on them though, you can see there was a bit of ink on them before the explosion. So it definitely doesn't do 50+, but it could still be pretty strong.
@@squiddler7731 Chip damage might have just been from stepping in enemy ink, which if you're not running ink defense is pretty quick to take effect.
My guess is 20 damage direct hit, 35 explosion.
1. The rivals were stuck in pink ink prior to being struck by the explosions, the damage from that would be 30
2. They died to being hit by two explosions each, meaning in order for them to have taken EXACTLY 100 damage the explosions must be a minimum of 35 damage. It could be more but 35 is the minimum
3. For the direct shots, possibly 20. 20 is enough damage for 5 arrows hitting an opponent directly to kill them, dealing 100 damage. You also see the wellstring hit the hydra with 3 direct arrows (possibly 60 damage) and then finishing them off with the other two explosions (70 damage). 60 + 35 = 90, + 35 = 125 total damage, enough to kill. Again, these numbers could be higher but 20 for the arrow and 35 for the explosion are the minimum
Splatoon JP has announced both Wellstring kits will be in Sizzle Season now, Auto/Stamp for the vanilla and Sensor/Wave for the custom.. I have a feeling this is the end
I think the Decavitator just doesn't have a projectile, but in return deals insane close-up damage and has the crazy dash, kinda like Grizz Co Stamper. That'll definitely be an interesting weapon to play around with, especially with the Bubbler being able to somewhat force close-quarters fighting.
I think regular swing has a projectile. But the charge has no projectile, painting similar to regular swing on grizzco splatana
The charged slash is also horizontal instead of vertical
I love that it's finally a big city vibe level, and the weird funky songs are back like in Splatoon 1
The funniest thing about the song to me, that it seems to include a swear word in it, that is censored.
And its a splatoon 2 band! Really capturing the full essence of the franchise

when it comes to the "censor sound", lore wise I believe from what I've seen on Splatoon wiki the ingame band SashiMori found ancient recordings (implied to be from humans) and remixed them, which would explain that.
also yeah I hope they fix right side peaking advantage in mirror/symmetry style stage design

I'm willing to bet clearing the wave with all three King Salmon will not yield a single gold scale in 99% of instances.
I think the idea with the Decavitator’s charge slash being horizontal is that you don’t have to aim as precisely to hit someone while doing it. I think the (hypothetically) more forgiving nature allows you to play around the charge slash much more frequently without the weapon being insanely difficult to perform well with, which sounds really fun to me and I’m excited to try it.
Custom Hydra possibly getting screen makes me so sad :( getting hit by screen is still very disorienting for me because of the noise it makes (I’m autistic and very sound-sensitive), it pretty much forces me into taking a ten minute break. I refuse to use any weapon with it because I don’t want to potentially disorient someone the way that it disorients me.
Hydra is my main. I love Hydra to death. But god. I can’t do it.
Personally, the game is already so loud that I can hardly even focus, and dealing with the sound of the screen effect is worth it for the dulling of the audio that the rest of the special provides.
In short, screen actually helps me concentrate. But I also hate myself for benefiting from its effects while everyone else suffers.

but like, why would you even want to use it? it feels so useless?? i feel like every weapon its on has a better alternate kit
@@Auroraen its not at all useless, but if your weapon already sucks then screen isn't gonna save it. im still gonna try chydra but its not gonna make hydra useful against players that know how hydra works

I hate the idea that the last splatfest is going to be the idol groups... I think it's a teaser for a three-way Live Concert. Japan LOVES Splatoon, and I think it's a veritable teaser for that being in the works.
I think it's safe to say the map design philosophy responsible for eeltail and brinewater is finally 6 feet under. The upcoming map looks really promising
It should have been six feet under and rotting BEFORE the majority of the stages were made with that design philosophy.
So looks like the Decavitator can hold its charged slash, which is pretty neat. Ambush-type Splatana.
maaaaan i wanted the wellspring to land the shots in a circular shape since the nozzles are arranged in a circle. so think of the painted area of it as the same with the homing sub one. ... they went with the grizzco stringer approach where the landed shots are in a straight line---that makes sense for that weapon since grizzco stringer's nozzle are all ligned up.
SplatoonJP announced there'll be 2 kits of the new Stringer at once. So this is the end.

New map honestly feels REALLY safe from a design standpoint, its very much a "if you past the other teams chokepoint you can access of all of rest of the map/spawn" in TW which i think is ok, its kinda has the early main S3 design philosophy layout ideas except its not as complicated (trying to get into mincemeats or eeltails spawn for example) since the big moving ramp just connects all of it together. im 99% sure SZ will be good on this map and maybe CB TC and RM will be good if they make at least one new route from the one way drop area up onto the other teams 2nd layer section. with how they handled Marlin I feel they will add that route in at LEAST CB and maybe RM. TC might have it via the tower route.

The cover is not on the grates going to the opposing sides in turf. Normally, you can just walk across or roll across with a brush/roller with no obstructions

Kit one has Autobomb and Stamp. Kit two has Point Sensor (the eleventh Point Sensor) and Wave Breaker.

The angle of the new stringer seems to be decreasing in the first ring in the vid that the opponent had a direct when the stringer just charged shortly, the aim starts to cross out and fires arrows out at a large angle as I watch closely when it shows the charging.
Its first ring seems to serve as combact like the lact while the full charge should be for chip damage like the tri stringer.
The weapon's weakness may be low precion at full charge and relatively high ink consumption as it used 25% of the ink tank with just a few tap shots and a full charge.
Just some quick ideas after a few watches, please don't take it serious.

Stay with pencil. Right now it outclasses just about every other support weapon in the game *_AND_* every other Backline weapon in the game. Unless the meta shifts due to a new patch or pencil gets banned in competitive play, stick with pencil. If you REALLY wanna play the new Heavy Edit, at least wait until we know exactly what sub weapon it has.

10:01 I'm sorry but from one pink enthusiast to another, that is *not* purple. That is the least purple-ish pink I've ever seen in my life. If someone called it "red," then alright I see where they're coming from even though "pink" is more accurate, it is a reddish pink. But "purple??" /lh
Everyone perceives colour slightly differently to one another, so while something may look like pink to you, it could very well look purple to Gem.
People are acting like the Jelly has some deeper meaning, but maybe it's just a representation of the devs wiping sweat off their brows after making 3 full splatoon games.

7:13 -- If it is Turf War three is a difference. Turf war does have the two blocks on the top of the center spire (they look different here, and maybe a little taller, but they are there), but what is new, at least for Turf War is the blocks in the middle of the grate bridges.
I thought Zones also had the blocks on the top of spire, but don't remember if they have the blocks on the grates, and fairly certain they don't.
The way the jellyfish is looking at the sun makes me think the current splatfest( which we know is about a meteor because of the fest art) or mr grizz heading back into the atmosphere

I've heard that any splatana can already do that.
That’s actually possible for all splatanas, the gimmick is moreso that it’s horizontal, plus the large dash distance.
All of the splatanas can turn at the end of their charge slash already, so no.
There’s also the much more obvious gimmick of the charge slash being a really wide horizontal slash so

We already have too many specials. Also the accessibility department clearly stopped looking at the special ideas last year, so we'd probably get more junk like Splattercolor Screen
