Melo had the potential to go much further than he did. He had great potential on defense, but lacked the effort. He had great potential to rack up assits, but chose inefficient shots- out of the flow of the offense. He had the chance to come to NY as a free agent at seasons end and be surrounded with a great supporting cast. But he chose to have the Knicks trade for him, so he could ensure his $$$. This left the Knicks gutted, and incapable of playoff success. To me, Melo is one of the biggest "what if's..." History will remember him as a great scorer... But not the great all-around player HE COULD'VE been. 💙🧡
Wade was my favorite player and loved playing against Carmelo Anthony chucked up a bunch of bricks to get 30 by then his team was already behind the Miami Heat would get the win and Carmelo got his stats but winning is more important then individual stats.
Melo is like KD, but without a ring, or the defense. Melo cannot lead a team to championship but he'd probably have a few good shot at it had him join up with other stars rather than joining the Knicks. No one can win a ring under NYK management. Not Melo's fault.
