Slater Fire Happy Camp, CA - September 8, 2020

This fire started by high winds and a downed power-line at the Slater Butte lookout. Winds had been forecasted to be 30-50 mph and was measured at those speeds all night of the 7th. On the morning of the 8th, this fire was spotted at around 06:30 and by the time Happy Camp Fire had arrived shortly thereafter, the fire was already at approx 15 acres. Evacuations were started within a short period of time due to the rapidly moving, wind driven fire.
This video is a small look at the devastation in the Indian Meadows subdivision about a half mile from Kingfisher Market. Hundreds of homes up Indian Creek Rd, Buckhorn Rd, and in the upper section of Indian Housing have been destroyed. Please remember to pray for Happy Camp and any help would be greatly appreciated.
