I bought my Punto Evo 90hp diesel top model last month. Went on a trip from Hyderabad to Pune and returned back. I can say that this is the best car in this segment. It's competitors stand no where near this car. Takes in all the bumps very easily. Leg room is enough for tall person like me. It feels like a tank from inside. It is secure with superb build quality, unlike other plastic cars offered by other car manufacturers.

I got this car for a quick spin. The "thud" sound that I got when the closed the door assured me of its build quality. Its ride is a wonderful compromise between comfort and agility..
People have misconception about fiat brand in India. It basically supplies engine to most car brands including suzuki. Fiat punto has nill maintenance and is the safest car in its segement or even compared to higher segment of Suzuki or hyundai. I own a Punto and all parts available locally. Maintenance cost is almost as low as swift and i feel might be even cheaper than swift maintenance since it doesn't require any maintenance besides regular oil change.
I own a Fiat Punto active, Petrol. It belongs to the first batch of Punto sold in India. I still feel it is new. Solid as rock.. Can make 360• turn without much fuss..

The very solid build car ever. Can jump into the very deep bumps and can come out in one piece very easily. Unlike swift and other premium hatchbacks. Loving this car and feeling proud to own this one. Best of best car ever...

safety by unique double striker air beg, pushing machine on heavy accident, Anti rolling sys, Fire prevention system, unique suspensions by loaded of 7 technologies, unique max most Ground clearance, top speed till 190-200 n comfortable balancing speed of 180, Piston temperature balancer, Six direction protected beams, Rotational Immobaliser sys in all variants n other safety features make this car unique that no brands hav capabilities to provide such huge unique features in any Sedan n hatchback
Forget styling, Punto Evo is the most value for money hatchback in its segment if ride, handling and safety is taken into account. It is the cheapest to service, given that service intervals are much larger and has excellent mileage. Only if more people realized that before jumping into the usual Swift-i20 bandwagon. Evo really stands out in a see of uninspiring Korean and Japanese cars.

now , turbo lag almost reduced in new version of punto. love it even driving after accent viva 1.6 for 5 years. love it
@Autoportal , could you please review the car again. Engine and Interior have been upgraded in all the versions of Punto Evo now.

Thanks for your reviews. But, can you please provide a few more details in your reviews? Like if the rear seat is foldable or not, if the other versions have any other cabin colour, the fuel efficiency expected, color options and of course price range. An in-depth review is more welcome !

I decided to buy punto evo 3.1 emotion finally
i own punto , spares are all import some made in brazil some german and some italy so very costly , every thing is different in fiat cars normal road side machine cant work on fiat cars even the screws the clips are different . the normal rear plastic window handle cost 1890 rs not joking , fiat sell each little plastic clips for 100rs they are mad , each wiper are made in germany cost 1000 each , break pad 3000 rs wtf fiat things we are not european who earns in euro . the quality of fiat is gr8 but spare are not available on open market and dealer dont give you spares if u dont repair with them , well there is 99rpm.com where u can buy spare. i will suggest don't go for fiat , toyota , maruti , renault is far more better . i bought fiat when i was 23 just fell in love with its looks and now i can say love is really blind

FIAT does not care if you buy it or not, I for one was bought up with two in our home in 70s, an elegant and Delight, They were cheap to run and low maintenance. Compared to amby they broke down rarely. But well nowadays what do they have , A 2005 design punto, being given fancy names now and then?, I think TATA fell into the same trap with indica and indigo, HM closed down because there was never any product improvement. Well if you still want a classic car buy any of these, If you want to show off you have too much black money buy any German car, They will let you spent it easily, If you want some modern sleek, superb driving, reliable cars go get a MARUTI or Hyundai, simple.

No hatch back is even close to it..

Hows the driving experience in city? Power developed a bit late in the rev band does it mean too many gear shifts in city?
With a little change in the driving style, the Punto Diesel drives effortlessly in the city. The car has really short 1st and 2nd Gear, that mean you can not go faster in those two gears like others. But, if used wisely those two gears works like a charm in back to back crawling traffic and it does crawl without riding the clutch. Unless you want to race in the city from every traffic signal, the car is a breeze. Put the car on the highway and nothing comes close. The 3rd, 4th and 5th gear is where you can make full use of the Turbo boost.

Frankly telling Fiat owners say first cars are so great and Bla Bla. I think they are worried about resale value. Or probably, they have learnt to appreciate something they can't get rid of without losing a lot of money when they sell. I experienced this when I had Suzuki gs150. If these cars were so good, why is fiat winding up in many countries and not adding cars to their international portfolio

Sales are low because fiat doesn't have large number of showrooms like hyundai maruti suzuki or tata
Parag Kakati they don't religiously focus on sales. Secondly they focus on bulk supply to Maruti. Thirdly Fiat is a car which attracts people with passion to automobiles and not first time buyers, so they can't compete with Maruti or Hyundai
it is expensive and right now, at cost of punto other manufacturers offer dual airbags & ABS, which punto lacks in lower variants

adil nandyat are you using Fiat?? Which city you belong to? I heard that some times issue - I am in bangalore n getting spare points as n when necessary. Same with bro who is in Coimbatore..
Wtf you have to open the hatch by the key?? And door knobs are centuries old. No touch screen too. Fiat ruined it for themselves with an ordinary feature list on otherwise great car. Come on fiat its a competitive market out there
i20 petrol or punto evo petrol ?
The petrol Punto is a 1.2 motor, which churns out a dismal, anemic 67bhp. You will love the handling and other bits of the car, but the engine lacks grunt. So in my opinion, you either buy an Abarth (if you want a petrol and a Fiat) or buy a diesel. The i20 petrol isn't a great performer either, but fares better the Fiat. Hope that helps.

Too much talking, too little showing
The car is difficult to drive in city and it have heavy stearing and front V cut bonnet, both are negative. High way ride is fine but too engine noise in my diesel one. The climate control not that much good and blue and me not that much helpful. Millage is fine and build steel is good. There are so many negative points in building joints. The main thing customer service... It's still very very bad only. We could not get any proper reply from any level of their customer service team, even you touch with Mumbai office also. Think and choose your best car...
Fiat and Premium do not go in the same sentence.
The backseats look cramped. This review looked biased.
I sat in the back seat of the Punto and trust me,they look cramped but,the space is much improved.I had adequate amount of space left even when the driver seat is completely pushed back.
shashi bhushan kunda ever been in the back seat of a Swift with a tall driver in the front ? try it.
It just looks like that. The Punto has TONS of space even when front seats are pushed back so no problem there
One more thing these are thick because Fiat never Compremise on safety think if they also make thin seats that is improve in leg room and its help Fiat also to Decrease money from their car but Fiat dosen't do it why Because in bigger accident thicker seats are way safer because they are thick and connot brake easily
