Your painting is lovely, I wouldn’t worry about being “a slow painter”, because painting isn’t about speed, but observation and calm. This video shows both, thank you 🙏
I get it, the time standing still when you paint... everything gets quiet, in this world that has become so loud, it is so refreshing. Another great video and painting!
yesss... I started to be consicous about myself seeking more and more situations where I can kinda "slow the time" and enjoy the moment, hell I even want it to be boring and last forever. I recall memories from early childhood when u were bored and hour could last so long.... well to me now, this isn't so bad, time is fleeing way too fast and I want back that sensation of time passing slowly.
Time goes so fast, and it feels even faster when you're older. I'm inspired by your relaxed approach to painting and hope to do more when I have time (ironically).
Just discovered your channel with this video & subscribed. Your work is beautiful- the colors are so rich and tasty, the scene serene. I completely relate to your feelings about the passage of time. Your willingness to really be in the moment, absorb and witness- comes through in your work, I think. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and art.✨
CD, like you, I'm learning to treasure quiet moments, slow, deliberate, joyful painting, and trusting my instincts (that internal nudge) that tells me: paint this! I believe there's always a reason aka benefit to following that prompt. Thank you for sharing your journey, and your thoughts. You are never boring! 😅❤
Everything you said in this video is exactly how I feel! You’re 12 years younger than me (wow I feel old but I’m only 33 😭) and funny enough 12 years is also how long ago since I started doing art seriously. So actually your age right now! You had to have been 9 then. It’s amazing for me to think kids back then are now here as adults sharing such wise and profound words. Time is moving so fast alright. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Subscribing cause I definitely wanna follow you on your art journey. Cheers to all the awesome art we’ll be drawing for years to come!
Nice mediative video. I like a yellowish under painting too since yellow represents the color of the sun and I feel like it adds warmth. A professional landscape artist suggested that I should try a black under painting to change it up, think I’ll try that soon.
i feel the same way, trying to improve my art to work with it. and sometimes i feel like im pusshing to much of me, but art its more about calm than speeding things up. love the way you expressed yourself here
Lovely result. I agree with the feeling that time goes by quickly, I feel like I'm running after the clock and painting helps me to enjoy the moment. Btw I like how you painted despite the fact that you didn't have apropriate tools, I should take my cue from you haha
@@cdsketch we are getting ready to have a warm up in Ohio. I will get to plein air. I’m not going to record just because Ive gained speed and I don’t want to throw you tube off. It hates me again haha. I’m so close to 1000 I don’t want to mess it up. 🤗
I feel impatient and frustrated when I paint and draw lately, but as a kid I just felt enjoyment. I’m not sure how to find my way back to that feeling TT)💔
I feel like a lot of us can relate to that. I don’t have all the answers but what I will say is that there’s two big differences between adult artists and kid artists. EXPECTATIONS and AVAILABLE TIME. I’d say try and find a way to change one of them. you’ve got this :)
beautiful! I liked what you said about painting letting you slow down time.
includding the bridge "fence" in your sketch brings it back to a human scale .wich fits nicely your general intention .thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bleu! I went back and forth with whether I should include it. Im glad it came across :)

Thank you! so many people doing so many things, it’s nice to step out of it all for a bit :)

Don't scare me haha. I can only imagine how fast it will start to go. I really hope you can find some time to get out painting. :)

Thanks so much! i’m glad you’re here :) That little bridge was so serene, I’ll probably go back without painting
thanks man

Thanks Colleen! I'm trying my best too, it can be hard to not get busy sometimes but doing a painting is always worth it.

Looking great! Love the pace of the video! Plein Air is so cool
Thank you!
Very nice video. It needs to warm up here so I can paint in plein air
Haha absolutely, It's been really up and down for me, occasionally the weather warms up to sit and paint for a while.
