Shin Megami Tensei is older than Pokemon, coming out in 1992. It's even older originator Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei came out in 1987. Both of these had the core concept of adding creatures to your party, and are basically to the Monster Collection genre what Dragon Quest is to JRPGs as a whole. Tons of interesting things to discuss with it in how it uses mythology for both it's designs and it's stories. While the entire debate of SMT vs Persona is unfortunate in how the franchise as a whole is viewed and discussed, using the shadow names was a good way to structure a quiz, even if Persona as a whole is considerably less of a Monster Collector than SMT proper. Not sure how else you'd do it given the very blunt mythological inspirations for the entire franchise. Maybe read the in-game description and have the players pick which demon it's describing? That said, maybe you guys could do another SMT quiz given SMT V: Vegeance is coming out this month. Even if I doubt any of you will play it.
Well Digimon clearly takes inspiration from SMT. SMT came first, and although Digimon was inspired by tamagochi, the RPG Digimon games are basically just Shin Megami tensei. That's one of the main thing that annoys me about people who say Digimon is a rip off Pokémon. There is no Pokémon DNA in Digimon, it all tomagachi and shin megami tensei.
PLEASE Say this is going to be a series cuz if it is i just found my new favorite series on all of youtube. Also please let there be one on the pary's personas as well🙏
Fun fact: in persona 3 portable, equipping Mara on the female mc with the male velvet room attendant (Theodore) will have him comment on how "unladylike" it is and ask you to use a different persona.
Yeah, "Jack o' Lantern" was always intended to be the name, but it exceeded the character limit in older English games, so they shortened it to Pyro Jack.
RIP Kyle Sandwiches, 2023 - 2024 Edit: nvm HE LIVES YET AGAIN. He probably arrived in digi hell and discovered he couldn't handle LadyDevimon and came crawling back.
The reason Jack-o-Lantern is called Pyro Jack in the older games is because the original name exceeded SMT3’s character limit, the name is supposed to be a reference to the story of the man that tricked the devil, so I prefer the current one cause I like the reference to folklore
And this is why Kyle should never host one of these, just the out of the blue win and out of pocket stuff he says makes him the best contestant possible
28:48 so in smt 3 nocturne you can fight this thing as a boss. the game there calls it mara, and it looks that way cause 2 npc's asked the demon that was summoning mara to rush the ritual so it LITERALLY didnt have enough time in the oven
30:27 also Yoshitsune has the potential to be the absolute most powerful Persona in the game if you build it right, with it being Immune, Reflecting, or Absorbing all but like 3 of the 10 normal damage types, being Resistant to 2 of the others, and Neutral to the only remaining one, AND having Hassou Tobi, a massive multi-hit AoE attack that melts basically everything.
I saw the thumbnail and I never clicked on a video so fast in my life. Great video. Hope you guys do more persona/smt videos. Like guessing the names of the main character persona's.
Metatron and Yoshitusne are what is called ultimate personas. Each Persona is associated with one of the 22 major arcana. These arcana also corespondent with various characters, either teamates or npcs. By forging bonds with these characters, known as confidants, you get more power when fusing personas of the respective arcana and upon reaching rank 10 you get access to that arcanas ultimate persona, meaning only then you can create it. Metatron belongs to the Justice Arcana, while Yoshitsune is towers. Also, small funfact I always found hilarious, one of your confidants is a doctor and what is her arcana? Death.
@@eddmario Thank you for the correction, I was sure Yoshitsune was the ultimate tower, but somehow I got that wrong. Even checked P3 and P4, because I thought I misremembered from those games, but nope.
Huge Persona/SMT fan, I have played 5 of them and will play more as they become available to me. Love seeing other people get exposed to the absurdity of some of these little goobers. Some of my personal favorites are Take-Minakata, he was a staple demon/persona for a large chunk of time in every single game I played, and Halphas because he is a funny little fancy bird, and Daisoujou, love his design and he is op in P5 and Nocturne.
You should see the designs for Artemis throughout Shin Megami Tensei. Her initial two designs are VERY out there, because they decided to emphasize the fact that she is the Greek goddess of Fertility by making a good portion of her design by comprised of female breasts. I am NOT joking. They definitely tone it down with her later two designs, but holy cow! Those early designs...!
Couldn't have written a better ending. Glad I stumbled across this, it was funny throughout. I would've guessed Yoshi, since bonus boss Margaret has them in P4 and P4U. Metatron makes sense though, he's one of the top Law dudes when Messiah isn't around. Surprised they're only one fusion sum apart!
I hope you guys do more Shin Megami Tensei/Persona ones in the future. Lots of good designs in the series. And with SMT 5 Vengeance releasing this week, it's a good time to surf on whatever interest that may generate lmao.
Shin Megami Tensei, the granddaddy of all monster collecting rpgs. Well there was Nethack before it, if you want to be pedantic but SMT was definitely what established the genre. And then pokemon exploded in popularity worldwide and became the face of the genre. Effectively being the Oreo to SMT's Hydrox. While I'm a huge fan of pokemon, it annoys me to no end when other monster collecters are simply written off as ripoffs or as clones. Digimon got it bad but nothing will come close to the vitriol and hate that was thrust upon Yo Kai Watch in the states.
Love the P5 style screen wipes 🤩 Edit: 19:32 The designs for all the SMT monsters are drawn from various folklore and myths, and I think for that reason the designs only get 'modernized' in that they are made higher res, basically. Very few get big changes to design, one I will be a little surprised if I dont see it later in this video... because you have to. (edit2: 23:27 yep, it had to be here. When I played SMT3 last year, I learned mara was instead a giant slime that was shaped like... *ahem* just the tip. So Mara got a redesign that made it muuuuuuuch worse.) Edit3: oh craaaap totally forgot about the torn king bringing up the old mara mantle.
Nice to see y'all finally tackling this topic! Having played Dx2, there's some pretty neat species! I'm hoping to try some SMT proper (NOT Persona!) in the future! Thanks for uploading!
the shadow at 28:16 is actually a weakened version of Mara its been used as a mini boss in a couple of games and Beelzebub does appear in SMT/Persona but i wonte say anything about him because i hope to see a reaction to him in a future video

He made that explanation way more confusing than it needed to be when explaining personas as shadows vs “capturing them” I had the same puzzled look on my face as the man bun dude at the bottom right while he was explaining, and I sunk 140 hours in Royal
5:27 The thing is, Jack-o-lantern only appears in the FIRST Palace, which is definitely not crypt themed. Also, it's generally considered Spoilers and Bad Manners to name the owners of any of the palaces after Kaneshiro, unless you're in a forum where the general audience has already played the game, or if the spoilers are clearly marked. After that, they should just be referred to as Palace 4, 5, etc.
Jack-o'-Lantern only sounds worse than Pyro Jack when you don't have the context of the "Jack" enemy archetypes, I think it's a way better name personally but it sounds lame if you didn't know beforehand
Isnt Fursona known for its dating mechanics? This should be the next AI date em on, as the demons, not the player characters as thatd be weirt. Can confirm, did not come

There's a slime in SMT called KING OF ALL SLIMES and it is just a slime on a buff body still looking like slime! Thats why it always looks cut off in games. This isn't true but what if it was!? 🤔
MUAHAHAHAHAHA… welcome to the Cathedral of Shadows. I, your resident Demonologist, will assist you with your fusion needs. Ahem… Yeah, I am a huge fan of SMT and I love their take on mythological figures. Some of their designs actually reference obscure things about these gods and other legends that may not make sense at all until you actually do a deeper dive. I am excited to see how you guys react to the monster taming series that predates Pokemon… and tbh should have been the spark of the Satanic Panic in the US. The Persona series often revolves around a social sim starting from 3. 1 and 2 are strange. 1 is a dungeon crawler similar to Wizardry. 2 started to branch out and is a duology of games. It is highly regarded and the story is like a modern Persona game without the social sim. 3 is what started the modern era. The SMT series often revolves around an end of the world, apocalyptic scenario and has the Demon Summoning Program or something of that sort that lets you party up with Demons to take on the game. Often philosophical and morality choices affect an ending you can get. The first of these was actually just called Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei and was released in 1987. Again, this was a dungeon crawler similar to Wizardry. Heck, there is even the Devil Summoner series that plays more like a tactical RPG where you split your team into 4 teams of 3 with 1 human and 2 Demons where each Demon has their own skills and even a Racial skill. I am gonna enjoy this! Kekekekekek Pyro Jack/Jack’ O Lantern Ah one of the Jack Bros and a Demon obviously based on the legend of Stingy Jack and Jack O Lanterns that people make on Halloween. It could also be based on how will o’ wisps look like someone holding a lantern. Note: The name “Crypt Dwelling Pyromaniac” may be a mistranslation as the word they used in Japanese could also mean basement or cellar, which is where they are found in that game, referring to the dungeon and areas near it. This demon’s original design was literally a Pumpkin with arms and legs. This creature has one of the LONGEST histories of the SMT monsters going back to the original Megami Tensei. In Persona, it is often of the Magician Arcana and in SMT it is a Fairy Race, which fits since this race is based on fairies and neutral magical phenomenon. Will o’ Wisps are sometimes attributed to the mischief of Fairies. As you can see, they usually focus on fire spells. A fun fact about this little dood is that they had a spin off game released on the Virtual Boy console. Incubus Ohhhhh yeah, this thing is somewhat accurate to a real life Incubus legend. They prowl the nights to assault women and in some cases, it is believed that SAs and other crimes of that nature were the acts of these monsters… usually to hide and protect the criminal. Other things attributed to Incubus are sleep paralysis phenomena. This demon is also another original Demon from the very beginnings of the series. In Persona, it is of the Devil Arcana most commonly and in SMT it is of the Night Race, which references demonic entities that often come out at night. Fitting for a sleep paralysis demon. They focus on Charm and Sleep spells. In some games, they evolve into Succubus. A fun community thing is that some people will fuse an Incubus that knows moves such as Hell Thrust or Sword Dance in reference to their… ya know… “sword”. Still, they naturally know Dream Needle… Bicorn It originates from a satirical poem, Bycorne and Chychevache, describing two beasts. The Bycorne eats good husbands (and is fat because there are so many) and the Chychevanche eats good wives (and is starving cause there are so few). In this poem, they are described as panther/bovine hybrids with human faces. It is believed that the current depiction of a two horned horse is based on the Re’em, a creature from the bible that is noted to most likely be a description of an oryx. Most likely the comparison to the Unicorn is fiction writers making a connection and going with it. Now its kinda a popular depiction. Note: Nice names, you accidentally referenced the origin with that one. It is relatively newer than the previous two, originating from SMT 2. Persona 5 is its first appearance in the Persona series, where it is part of the Hermit Arcana. This demon is more common in the SMT series where it is a Wilder, or wild and violent beast. Yeah nothing much more to say about this guy. He is just kinda neat. Black Ooze Well, this thing is actually based on D&D. The creature there is called the Black Pudding and despite being a slime, in D&D, they are a dangerous acidic creature. You will find that many of these monsters have D&D based designs. Another oldy, this guy originates from the original SMT and often they are noted to be demons that failed to materialize correctly, leaving them as a sludgy pile of hate and death. Another creature that had its first appearance in Persona 5, these guys are part of the Moon Arcana. In SMT, they are of the Foul Race, which consists of strange creatures, empowered humans and urban legends. A neat quirk is that nearly all of them are weak to light. Succubus We’ve seen the Incubus, now for the Succubus. Again, another creature that is based on rumors and demons to explain away phenomena. This case, it is adultery and maybe even birth defects. They strike at night and drain men of their vitality. The Lilim, daughters of Lilith, are known Succubi. Joining the cast of the original, Succubus were around for the Megami Tensei games. Interestingly, in the Persona series it jumps around the Moon and the Devil Arcana. In SMT it is of the Night Race, which as described above is fitting for a monster that attacks men at night. In the original design, it was literally a naked woman with flowing red hair and that design shows up in its sprite for Megami Tensei 2. So yeah, that Succubus shown IS a redesign. As you might have figured, they are usually specialists of Charm spells and magic. Their levels often bounce around, but you can count on those two aspects. Note: My 2 cents. They made her generic because the aforementioned Lilim and Lilith are common demons too, so they made Succubus generic and focused on different designs for these two “evolved” forms. Mara MY LORD AND SAVIOR!!! THE DICK CHARIOT HIMSELF AND THE MEME OF THE SMT SERIES. This creature has an over foot long scale figure with positionable tentacles… that cost over 300 dollars. He is THAT popular. Mara is the Buddhist Demon who tempts and seduces people away from the path of enlightenment. He is the ultimate obstacle for those who wish to seek enlightenment. So of course he despised Buddah and when he attacked him, but when the Buddah touched the ground, the gods showed up and smote him. He is often known to use lust and violence to get his way. Mara originates from SMT and his original design is a dick with tentacles coming off the balls… yeah… In SMT 2 his boss fight includes his iconic deathmobile chariot, but ditches it when he is summoned to your side. In SMT 3: Nocturne, there is a version of Mara called Mara Slime that is a failed summoning of Mara (as noted with Black Ooze, slime monsters are normally summon failures), though Mara is so powerful, even his slime form is super strong. They reference this in the rapist’s dungeon by having the Torn King of Desire as a miniboss since normal Mara would POUND YOUR ASS at this level Fittingly… in the Persona games he is of the Tower Arcana. In the SMT games he is of the Tyrant Race, who consist of powerful evil beings from various pantheons, often their big bads. Mara’s movesets are always decently meme worthy. He is weak to ice in reference to blue balls and often uses the Charm status and powerful physical attacks. In the Persona games with weapon types, Mara often does Pierce damage or Gun Damage. They go further in Persona 5 and 5R where Mara also focuses on Charm and Psychic attacks which mesh together for bonus damage. I love this guy and making meme builds using him. But my favorite aspect isn’t even the demon itself. It is another demon that is connected to him. Girimekhala is a famous SMT demon known to the fanbase as the first demon to naturally reflect physical attacks and most noobs will just kill themselves on him first time. That is my favorite SMT demon and he is the one eyed elephant that Mara rides into battle… aka his chariot made flesh. With enough fusion, you can make one that is near invulnerable since he naturally has an immunity to physical and darkness, so is a great base to build upon. SMT 5 they introduced a true Taunt attack… I made an invincible wall that focuses on debuffing you. Kekekeke I am not gonna go into detail into the bonus guys… but yeah Yoshitsune is OP asf. 8 hits of basic attack level damage to the entire battlefield literally just shreds anything. Ofc, in Persona 5, you NEED to max the Magician Arcana to get him, which means you need to to basically be on the final day to unlock him.

Hell, one of the character specific ones in P3 is loosely based on Jesus
@@eddmariodon't forget how the protagonist of SMT2 is literally the reincarnation of Jesus. And a character from Devil Survivor is the reincarnation of Abel from the story of Cain and Abel. Now that i think about it, most prominent figures in SMT and Persona are either reincarnations of or modern day manifestations of major entities from religion and mythology.
@@eddmarioit's only loosely reassembles Jesus cuz it's the Judeo-Christian concept of the messiah not specifically jesus himself. Even non Judeo-Christian religion might have a messiah in one form or another so that's why persona's messiah is non-specific, because it's not based on a single religion
Is Black/King Frost based off real world stuff? Or is just because Jack is a good boi who deserves all the love
Okay so I tried to comment this already but it’s not showing up so let me re type it. The character of Jack Frost came from a child’s nursery rhyme. His design in smt was so iconic he became the series mascot. Over time as the game went on multiple powered up variants of Jack Frost were created some off them like king/ black frost became reoccurring demons.
FUN FACT: SMT actually invented the monster catching genre which one of the Dragon Quest games would incorporate which inspired Pokemon.
Nope. Fighting Fiends was the first creature collector. It came out in 1982 for arcade, and was in development since 1879. It came out 13 years before Pokemon.
@Candjstudios2024 I was more referring to it appearing on consoles since Megami Tensei was 1987 but I'm also having trouble finding the game you mentioned, send me a link cause I'm interested.
@@SeelkadoomandJokic00idk but is he talking about but game called “Hack” (1982-1985) had monster taming mechanic as a side attraction. Later “NetHack” (1987-2023) got released which expanded on the mechanics but Megami Tensei was the first to have monster taming as a main gameplay mechanic
The concept as a whole originated from Shikigami honestly
Also fun fact:
SMT is actually a spinoff series itself.
For those unaware, Megami Tensei was originally a book series, and the games are a spinoff.
for the royal players. torn king of desire got moved in royal to be the will seed boss rather then a random midboss
but hgaving it guard a seed of lust is fitting
This is rather good way to do SMT Demon design quiz. Kyle came at the end and chose rightly and thus he will have his spot in Heaven secured.
Dirty two horned beast makes sense if you can remember that Unicorns are suppose to represent purity.
You know you have to show them 2 monsters and then ask what they fuse to make.
Yeah, but that can be different every game.
@@neffariouspandait can also be different in the same game depending on level
@@kain6996 yup, that too
@@neffariouspanda if they just did persona 5 it'd work. Just say "according to the fusion calculator, what do these make?"
@@Kerubu lol busting out the fusion calculated give them 2 batches of the same personas but with different levels and show them the different results there’s gotta be some great changes
You are actually right a lot of these designs are basically the same as they were originally which for reference predates pokemon
We need an out of context comp, because that would be absolutely hilarious
I would love to see a follow up video based around the lore of personas.
That would just be real life lore (myths/religions) except for the one dude who just manifests his dead butler on a jet-powered flying skateboard.
Maybe they could show lore and design and they have to guess the name from those
Honestly I'd love to see pokemon fans seeing just random demons from the SMT series in general, no quiz needed. It's great to have that contrast.
Oh, I love this idea! I’d love to see another one!
That ending was so funny,
Just the perfect storm.

"spf 100 isn't for him"
lmao, didn't expect a Blond Boyz reference in the Year of Our Lord 2024
Bleached hair, fair skin makes the ladies swoon👍🏼
These are like Digimon if they had YuGiOh names
Well Digimon clearly takes inspiration from SMT.
SMT came first, and although Digimon was inspired by tamagochi, the RPG Digimon games are basically just Shin Megami tensei.
That's one of the main thing that annoys me about people who say Digimon is a rip off Pokémon. There is no Pokémon DNA in Digimon, it all tomagachi and shin megami tensei.
PLEASE Say this is going to be a series cuz if it is i just found my new favorite series on all of youtube. Also please let there be one on the pary's personas as well🙏
it's always a good time when I when I see a new upload from these guys.
Fun fact: in persona 3 portable, equipping Mara on the female mc with the male velvet room attendant (Theodore) will have him comment on how "unladylike" it is and ask you to use a different persona.
Do a lore version.
Or tell them the lore if you do this again.
28:52 You also fight this in smt 3 after some demons rush a Mara summoning ritual
2:20 fun fact: The name "Pyro Jack" comes from the older games, where there was a limit to how long the names could be.
Yeah, "Jack o' Lantern" was always intended to be the name, but it exceeded the character limit in older English games, so they shortened it to Pyro Jack.
Imagine Not having Jack Frost the mascot in there, also, Mara is unfortunately a good persona to use
This is gonna be interesting
Also, my favorite demons are Cleopatra, Dagda (he is voiced by the Smash Announcer) and Odin (smt4a)
Are Cleopatra and Dagda new to SMTV?
@@berserkerciaran their both from smt4 Apocalypse but are put as dlc in 5V
The fact that Joker is also voiced by the Smash Announcer makes this so much better
Cleopatra frolic 🥵
I hope we are enjoying, persona name guessing: elimination mode
I'm surprised they didn't mention the fact that the BIG and powerful mara is actually female
RIP Kyle Sandwiches, 2023 - 2024
Edit: nvm HE LIVES YET AGAIN. He probably arrived in digi hell and discovered he couldn't handle LadyDevimon and came crawling back.
What happened in Digihell is for me and LadyDevimon to know and absolutely no one else👀
@@stylez_71 understandable, have a nice day
@@stylez_71that video was wild
The reason Jack-o-Lantern is called Pyro Jack in the older games is because the original name exceeded SMT3’s character limit, the name is supposed to be a reference to the story of the man that tricked the devil, so I prefer the current one cause I like the reference to folklore
And this is why Kyle should never host one of these, just the out of the blue win and out of pocket stuff he says makes him the best contestant possible
Kyle here, I love you too random citizen🫡
28:48 so in smt 3 nocturne you can fight this thing as a boss. the game there calls it mara, and it looks that way cause 2 npc's asked the demon that was summoning mara to rush the ritual
so it LITERALLY didnt have enough time in the oven
The fakeout death at the end was wild
You guys are so creative and funny. I hope your channel blows up soon :3
Fun Fact with Mara... In P3 it speciallised in Pierce Attacks and is weak to Ice Attacks.
I DEMAND THE FULL SPORKS RANT
30:27
also Yoshitsune has the potential to be the absolute most powerful Persona in the game if you build it right, with it being Immune, Reflecting, or Absorbing all but like 3 of the 10 normal damage types, being Resistant to 2 of the others, and Neutral to the only remaining one, AND having Hassou Tobi, a massive multi-hit AoE attack that melts basically everything.
Game show idea: guess which the demon/shadow negotiation is real
I saw the thumbnail and I never clicked on a video so fast in my life. Great video. Hope you guys do more persona/smt videos. Like guessing the names of the main character persona's.
15:31 Go look up Alciel's design and that is exactly what you're describing
The Sporks gave Kyle the win XD
love how you jump off of each other's jokes, so hilarious! xD
also you need to do some quote compilations for shorts or something
YES SMT/PERSONA DEMONS this is going to be incredible i love all the games persona 1 through 5 and smt 3 and 5 are all incredibe games
I would've loved to see their reaction to Angel immediately after Succubus
I will forever thank persona 5 for getting me into those series. So 5 will always be my favorite
Yes continue this persona / shin megami tensei series love the persona series
Death.
I mean she can ruin my life so it checks out
Not so fun fact:
Mara is the Tower arcana in P5, and that same confidant is a little boy...
@@eddmario Thank you for the correction, I was sure Yoshitsune was the ultimate tower, but somehow I got that wrong. Even checked P3 and P4, because I thought I misremembered from those games, but nope.
@@christopherfu2169 You seem to have misunderstood me.
I was just pointing out the coincidence that Mara and Shinya are both the Tower arcana.
Not using Balfahgor really?
6:29
No way, not the Blonde Boyz reference 😭
I apologize in advance for being one of the ones who asked, as I know this is going to probably cause y'all some level of damage lol
So it's YOUR fault (Thank you for your suggestion)
@@MitchFromFBS No problem. Glad y'all had fun lol
Turns out you can't put uncensored Mara into the video after all
Couldn't have written a better ending.
Love the P5 style screen wipes 🤩
Edit: 19:32 The designs for all the SMT monsters are drawn from various folklore and myths, and I think for that reason the designs only get 'modernized' in that they are made higher res, basically. Very few get big changes to design, one I will be a little surprised if I dont see it later in this video... because you have to. (edit2: 23:27 yep, it had to be here. When I played SMT3 last year, I learned mara was instead a giant slime that was shaped like... *ahem* just the tip. So Mara got a redesign that made it muuuuuuuch worse.)
Edit3: oh craaaap totally forgot about the torn king bringing up the old mara mantle.
Y’know, I didn’t like Kyle at all when I first found this channel. Now he’s my favorite.I don’t know if he’s changed or if I have, but his energy keeps me rooting for him even when I want someone else to win.
Kyle here, I appreciate that haha! Thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoy our future videos! WE KEEP WINNING BABY LETS GOOOO!!!!
I like his suffering in Digimon. I can't hate him for that to be fair
He's definitely gone from just clueless to a more inquiring clueless. And we love him for it
I think yokai watch would make a good quiz. Not a large following but I enjoyed it.
He made that explanation way more confusing than it needed to be when explaining personas as shadows vs “capturing them”
I had the same puzzled look on my face as the man bun dude at the bottom right while he was explaining, and I sunk 140 hours in Royal
5:27
The thing is, Jack-o-lantern only appears in the FIRST Palace, which is definitely not crypt themed.
When i saw the thumbnail, i knew i had to watch it since the throbbing king of desire was in it
My favorite thing about Mara is how everything he says is related to sex. Even his skills have a sex theme
Oh gosh! I've played Persona 5 and Royal and didn't even notice that about Mara! That's so disturbing!
Isnt Fursona known for its dating mechanics? This should be the next AI date em on, as the demons, not the player characters as thatd be weirt. Can confirm, did not come
RIP Kyle.
I didn't realize that the english translation for the names are so different
Oh boy, this one is gonna be great.
6:27 It's a penile sheath on Incubus, not the actual thing.
wow I didn't expect them to react to the virginsona/CHAD tensei demons by the way they could make reactions to the different designs of the demons like odin or satan
There's a slime in SMT called KING OF ALL SLIMES and it is just a slime on a buff body still looking like slime! Thats why it always looks cut off in games.
This isn't true but what if it was!? 🤔
No doubt Mara will be here. It just seems to be the perfect mental flashbang.
Edit: yuuuuuup.
Honestly, I like the Bicorn. But it's a horse with goat horse. Still cool XD
My boy yoshitune is on the list best persona

As SMT fan who's Persona 5(and those game that's too old) is the only game i haven't played so i'm confused as hell
Funny enough. Shin Megami Tensei came first before Pokemon. It just wasn't popular until Persona I guess.
yes
MUAHAHAHAHAHA… welcome to the Cathedral of Shadows. I, your resident Demonologist, will assist you with your fusion needs. Ahem…
Yeah, I am a huge fan of SMT and I love their take on mythological figures.
Kekekekekek
Pyro Jack/Jack’ O Lantern
Ah one of the Jack Bros and a Demon obviously based on the legend of Stingy Jack and Jack O Lanterns that people make on Halloween.
Incubus
Ohhhhh yeah, this thing is somewhat accurate to a real life Incubus legend.
Still, they naturally know Dream Needle…
Bicorn
It originates from a satirical poem, Bycorne and Chychevache, describing two beasts.
Black Ooze
Well, this thing is actually based on D&D.
Succubus
We’ve seen the Incubus, now for the Succubus.
Mara
MY LORD AND SAVIOR!!!
They reference this in the rapist’s dungeon by having the Torn King of Desire as a miniboss since normal Mara would POUND YOUR ASS at this level
Fittingly… in the Persona games he is of the Tower Arcana.
There was no "Kekekeke" at the beginning, so I didn't buckle in and am now splattered against my wall (I will recover by next week, dw)
Can you do Pulsemon's evolution line next?
Now this is peak
Persona means person and ohana means nobody gets left behind

As good as this video is, I have one complaint: I wish it wasn't *just* the sex demons. I feel like it gives the wrong impression of Persona and Shin Megami Tensei as a franchise. Show off the demons like Amaterasu, Michael, etc.
the virtual boy Exclusive game Jack bros had the jack bros pyro jack included dungeon crawling hence the name i suppose
