This is very informative. I think I understood most of it in Cantonese although I have no formal education in the dialect. It would be helpful to have this presented in Hoisanese since that is the topic. I would probably understand the presentation better as I am Hoisanese. However again, I have no formal education in the dialect either as I was born in the USA. Even better would be an English translation for those of us who are in my position and proud of our ancestry.

台山市（漢語拼音: Taishan；傳統外文名：Toishan）舊名為新寧，1992年撤縣設市。現時為廣東省江門市代管的縣級市，位於珠江三角洲的西側、南海岸邊，是嶺南著名的僑鄉。目前全市旅居海外的華僑約有130餘萬。過去與新會、開平、恩平合稱「四邑」，近年加上鶴山，改稱「五邑」。

台山市的傳統外文名并非Toishan，如果见到用Toishan命名的华侨团体，可以断定这个团体的成立时间不足50年。历史悠久的台山华侨团体，用的外文名称是Hoy Sun.

從台山舊城來睇，當年陳齊堂年代台山最繁華都市騎樓底下車水馬龍银號，當埔茶樓洒店.賭場應有盡有遠遠勝于香港惜日繁榮昌盛一去不復返實在令人感到非常失望。

漏料多。 金山系指美國。美國三藩市，（早期當地華人來自台山的多，此同北美早期華人情況相同）稱為舊金山。台山人在北美和南美的多，可能系當年買豬仔多數來自四邑。東南亞華人則台山人都有，但比例唔多。明代或者更早都已有兩廣福建甚至江浙人去東南亞。後生仔，多讀書才出來講啦。少讀匪書。
