It really makes me wish I could see into the mountain and just get a glimpse of all the different rocks they are made from, they are probably loaded with stuff not even discovered yet
That was a pretty cool place to look around! It would of been cool to look around the old mines.Nice view from the top. Unlucky you didn't quite make it to where you wanted to go. But you did find some very cool pieces. That big rose quartz rock would have nearly fitted in your bag😉😂 Thanks for taking us along on another great adventure 👋
Fun video, my friend! Glad you found some fluorite, and that malachite was pretty crazy for how abundant it was. Great finds!! tell Hamilton I said hi. :)
I was super happy to find stuff other than gneiss Schist and quartz out there .. made my week ... also I have him a petting and told him that was from you.
Nothing like taking the wrong turn on a 2 mile hike! Pretty sure I’d die on that hill even if I took the right path. I would have to take O2. 😂 Love that chunk of amethyst and the chunk of black tourmaline. Gotta respect the fact that you didn’t haul out tons of materials. I would be so excited, I’d grab it all! Especially the malachite. Did you wear spikes on your boots? That hill looks so slippery!
It was a beast of a hike ... although in all fairness, only the first mile are, so was up hill LOL. Yeah it wasn't easy to only take a little but I had two things going for it. 1) I was a Colorado rockhound guest and 2) I still had hill to climb 😐 gaaaaa. I did not have spikes going up was OK but when it started to sprinkle a bit coming back down was a weeeee bit tricky in spots till I got to back into the heavy tree line.
Great video!!! The grate covering the mine was not 100 years old. Who do oyu think put that in place? Is this public land? If a goverment agency put that in place it seems there would have been warning signage. I hope you have people who know where you are and when to expect you back, should you ever fall into a hole. That can be pretty dangerous.
So out west, a lot of the old mines were just left open. You can still run across them from time to time, Colorado started the Inactive Mine Reclamation Program back in 1980, they go around and place grates over old mines to make them safer. A lot of western states do the same. It's kind of funny here in the Midwest we learned about weather danger like tornados and the such, when I went to school in Nevada and Arizona we were taught mine safety , which sort of gives you an idea of just how many open mines there are still out there many with vertical shafts like this one.
Lovely day for a hike with a nice variety of finds. Colorado is amazing
I love Colorado , the history and the geology there is just amazing

Very cool place to hunt, i loved how there were heaps of different types of rocks and crystals all around each other🌞🌞🌞

Haha I thought the same thing about the rose quartz .. I could have picked it up on the way down, gravity after all can be your best friend LOL
