    This little cutie would have had me completely sold, if it wasn't for the loudness of his motors. They kinda distract from the whole "magical, miraculous liveliness" aspect they were trying to go for here. Other than that, I say we have a really sweet, charming and quite engaging animatronic toy! Something that beats out the newest FurReal toys by a wide margin, if I may say so myself.

      Furreal toys are great, but in iview, I find them more geared to girls, and not really general neutral, and also they seem to appeal more as just kids real pets in the form of toys rather than actually being realistic like they were in the beginning if that makes sense. little live pets are great but more in the same way in an exaggerated way they also are like the for real friends. That is to say, they resemble a kids toy like a dog that makes funny barking sounds or miaowing and singing within one or two minutes rather than something that is always like a real pet. Not sure if that makes sense. I love for real pets and I think there’s been attempts to try and make them realistic but some thing about them today feels cheaper. I got my very first for real cat back in 2005 or so, and it would purr and react to motion and miaow if you stepped on its tail and that’s all it did. It didn’t, sing or make funny pooping sounds or call out in funny voices. The squawker parrot was pretty realistic, though… I still have him.

    I love this guy! I've probably mentioned before, I was a huge lover of the original furbys, then had Robo Baby also and loved her. Thready reminds me a bit of the original furby! Maybe not quite as complex, but he captures that same magic without all the bells, whistles, and gimics that a lot of the newer toys have. He'd fit nicely into any imaginative play. Thank you for sharing him!

    Maybe because I’m a Teddy Ruxpin enthusiast but the concept reminds me of the “Talking, Emotive Teddy Bear” concept of Teddy Ruxpin!
    Thready Bear does look cute! I can see how someone could get creeped out by the mechanism but overall he looks and sounds pretty cute!

      Yea, I'm also an enthusiast within the teddy ruxpin stuff and other WOW products like Snoopy and grubby and all, I thought he resembled a teddy ruxpin a little bit too,
      I don't really like the fact the eyes get squished down as I see there is marks in the eyes from the bending, but it is cute, I'd say thready is just teddy's weird little cousin lol

      Actually for some reason him coming alive with the motors and sounds and everything reminded me of starting up the Teddy Ruckman tapes

      We are all a big part of the human and robot family and I love this community so much! I especially love the overnight appeal of the bear. I think that is so great for kids!

    • @goingup6098
      @goingup6098 17 дней назад

      I will add that initially I was a little creeped out by him because since I am blind and had no visual references and thought the motor sounded very mechanical, it almost reminded me of Human sounds so I wasn’t sure if that was the bear talking or not. So when he came alive, it sounded a little strange. But like Paul, I eventually warmed up to him. Now I want one! Like right now lol but will need to wait.

    I must admit the "Talking back" feature where kid can make up what he says but adults will hear muffled sound is genius. All functions are really cool and well thought!
    Shame the eyes do not animate that nicely. I expected them to be better. And shame there is no feeding sensor!
    I already can see how these eyes will desingerate in few years...

    You know the whole bringing the bear to life by making a wish thing kind of remind me of that comedy movie from 2012. The one with the boys that wishes that is fair would come to life and well that happens. The movie is called Ted there’s even a sequel to it. Oh, and I know this comment might look weird. My dictation is acting up a little but yes, this kind of reminds me of that movie that’s awesome really.

      Thanks for posting the video with Cubby.
      It would be so cool to see if this bear reacts to music as well. It would be fun to dance along with him to teddy bears picnic or something.
