To be fair to the Raider, fighting survivors is getting to be more and more of an uphill battle as the general skill floor rises. If you’re fighting a competent team (or god forbid a LV250 premade), and you’re playing a Raider other than the Ginyu Force, defeat is usually a foregone conclusion.
One thing I've noticed is the fact that time is almost always on the side of the survivors. Like there is a huge suite of abilities that exist to help evade or nullify the raider by doing something to immobile them or put distance between you and them and the fact is that even if those things don't fully work to whatever your immediate goal is the fact that you bought time for the entire team means creating time where everyone advanced the win state through various ways. The general rules of action economy means the raider is disadvantaged in competing with the survivors in almost every way. I say all this but I'm in A4 right now and still match with mooks who see me using Cook and refuse to wait the three seconds for me to finish the animation and also an actual bot who stands in one place waiting to get merced every round so what do I know.
