This, The Women’s Game, and The Late Sub are everything. This is what competent commentary sounds like. I love the women out here who love sports, know their stuff, and can talk naturally about it. I’m not naming names of the ones it’s tough to listen to, but this (O’Hara, Leslie, Mewis, Saurbrunn, Williams, and Claire, I think) is what it’s supposed to sound like. Great show. And what a joy this Olympiad has been so far! Biles, Ledecky, USW Rugby, USWNT Soccer, USW Basketball, and the list just keeps going. Being able to share this with my daughters has been magical.
I love Kelly's explanation of the low block. Also, appreciate that they are both experts from different sports and I love hearing the comparisons and differences.
Yes Lisa, I saw the Trin gag on the sideline from the powder. You aren't alone on that. Plus the Olympics is a darn cryfest to me, all these heart touching moments. Damn those women have to be exhausted and sore. I need more tissues for this last week of Kodak Times of Your Life Moments. (Yes I am old to use that reference babyZ's)
Don’t even put a normal person running next to them! Put like a fast athlete from another sport out there. Like if you put Trin or Banda or something. Them leaving someone everyone already know is real fast in the dust 😮
The possession of the USWNT didn't mean anything for me because they didn't do anything with it but mostly play backward. They have to provoke more from an attacking point of vue to team like that..
Come on now, our ladies did a double shift! 89% possession is not good when the score and chances were so low. We did more side to side passing than moving the ball forward. Good thing Germany hasnt been playing well at all.
That’s because Japan wanted it to be that way, they wanted the U.S. to have so much possession because they are very good tactically at a low block and know that the U.S. struggles with it. Fortunately, we just have greater individuals that won the game for us than Japan
When you play a team in a low block as good as Japan there is no space to pass forward into the box, they were never pressing yes it was frustrating to watch but the US did a great job with what they were given
