There is no limit to members, so every comeback, the members of each sub-unit could change. In the era of Firetruck, there were the members: Mark, Haechan, Taeil, Yuta, Taeyong, Jaehyun and Winwin. This era, they added Johnny and Doyoung. But those aren't the fixed members, every member could be changed. Same goes with NCT U. Next comeback, they could add Hansol for example. I hope you'll understand a little bit more, even though my English isn't that good :D
im pretty sure they said that johnny and doyoung are the final and only additions for nct127. they won't be adding any more or changing the members for nct127

To those who don't understand NCT, this is basically it: NCT U (Representative/Experimental Unit) - Rotational Lineup/Changing Members. Open to any concept. Their debut song is "The 7th sense" which consisted of 5 members Taeyong, Doyoung, Ten, Mark and Jaehyun. They also have "Without You" wich consisted of the 3 main vocalist: Taeil, Doyoung and Jaehyun. These two songs are very different and although it's the same sub group the lineup change depending of the concept. NCT 127 (Seoul Based Unit) - A normal group, basically. Unchanging members. Sound R&B/EDM Debut song: "Firetruck" it first consited of 7 members Taeyong, Taeil, Haechan, Mark, Yuta, Jaehyun and Winwin. Comeback and the reason they're in Weekly idol: "Limitless". In this case SM added two menmbers to this sub-unit as permanent members: Doyoung and Jhonny. So now they're 9 members. (SM did the same thing with Red Velvet when they add Yeri) NCT DREAM (For members under 18) - When members graduate from school, they move on or simply remain in whatever other fixed unit/normal group (like 127) they're assigned to. Their sound is bright, and their concept youthful. Debut song Chewing Gum consisted on members: Chenle, Jisung, Haechan, Jeno, Renjun, Jaemin, and Mark (Graduating this year). Comeback "My first and Last" in this case they made a comeback without Jaemin because he's injured. Mark is the only person who debut in all 3 sub-units and Taeyong is the general leader of the group and it's sub-units (similar to s.coups in seventeen). The other units set to debut are probably going to be like NCT 127. In other words, fixed and targeted towards a specific country (like Japan, China, Thailand). You know, they were new to variety shows and they will have repetitive questions like this in the future, so they would like to see how these kids will handle when they have this kind of situation coming to them.
NCT is a group with many sub-units in it, like NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT Dream. There may be more sub-units to come in the future with the addition of other trainees that have not debut yet. There is no limit to how many members can NCT have in total. For NCT U, members can be changed during each comeback depending on the concept. For NCT 127, members can't be switched out (imo they are the main unit that SM will be concentrating the most). For NCT Dream, their members are all much younger compared to U and 127.
sparkle Lee Sooman said that all units don't have any exact limit of members. So 127 also doesn't have any. Maybe they are focusing on 127 most, because people like them most. Dream unit as well, but this unit is with age limit. So there can be any member under 17 years old.
NCT is a group that is broken up into different subunits. Most of NCT were members of Smrookies (SM's predebut team). Each subunit has their own member line up, concept, music, etc. So far we know 3 sub units: NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT Dream NCT U: The experimental unit. debuted with the 7th sense and Without You. To be honest, its not that difficult to understand NCT's concept. SM have done this with Super Junior. (e.g; SJ-M, SJ KRY and etc.) But the people back then wasn't as accepting on adding or leaving a person in or out of the group for a comeback. I remember that people back then was SO against Kyuhyun getting into SJ. But now, it seems to work for NCT. Maybe it would confuse a few but, once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy to tell who's in the comeback or not. I just hope the other rookies gets to debut too. It seems to me like DonCon are just trying to test the members' patience lol haha I think they understood it, but they were trying to test the members to see how they will handle answering the repetitive questions like this, and I think they did it well :) They calmly explained it without bad attitudes or were annoyed. You know, they were new to variety shows and they will have repetitive questions like this in the future, so they would like to see how these kids will handle when they have this kind of situation coming to them.

NCT is a group with many sub-units in it, like NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT Dream. There may be more sub-units to come in the future with the addition of other trainees that have not debut yet. There is no limit to how many members can NCT have in total. For NCT U, members can be changed during each comeback depending on the concept. For NCT 127, members can't be switched out (imo they are the main unit that SM will be concentrating the most). For NCT Dream, their members are all much younger compared to U and 127.
sparkle Lee Sooman said that all units don't have any exact limit of members. So 127 also doesn't have any. Maybe they are focusing on 127 most, because people like them most. Dream unit as well, but this unit is with age limit. So there can be any member under 17 years old.
Am I the only one who isn't confused about their whole unit thing? I mean, it's just different units. xD
I actually felt that Mark knows something more than the other members 'cause he somehow debuted with all the current units

NCT is a group that is broken up into different subunits. Most of NCT were members of Smrookies (SM's predebut team). Each subunit has their own member line up, concept, music, etc.
So far we know 3 sub units: NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT Dream
NCT U: The experimental unit. debuted with the 7th sense and Without You. The members are Taeyong, Ten, Doyoung, Taeil, Jaehyun and Mark
NCT 127: The Seoul based unit. Debuted with Firetruck. The original members were Taeyong, Jaehyun, Winwin, Taeil, Yuta, Mark and Haechan. Doyoung and Johnny were added later
NCT Dream: The unit for the youngest members of NCT. Debuted with Chewing Gum. The members are Mark, Haechan, Jeno, Jaemin, Renjun, Chenle, and Jisung
To be honest, its not that difficult to understand NCT's concept. SM have done this with Super Junior. (e.g; SJ-M, SJ KRY and etc.) But the people back then wasn't as accepting on adding or leaving a person in or out of the group for a comeback. I remember that people back then was SO against Kyuhyun getting into SJ. But now, it seems to work for NCT. Maybe it would confuse a few but, once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy to tell who's in the comeback or not. I just hope the other rookies gets to debut too.
