As much as he was eventually, OK with our scientist touching the fluffy tail and him giving head pets in return it sounds like that was a very personal and intimate thing amongst tribe members. Even though our scientist friend is there for research purposes, I think their new friendship could go in a different direction. For now get them crystals and save his tribesmen.
