Costco is my regular grocery store! We have a large family, but we still like to eat organically and they have such a large selection of bulk organic foods. I love that place😍
+Jezel Bow I have not shop at Costco lately but I see more organic Food; before in Toronto just 3 years ago....only organic was 'hemp seeds'...so now is the time to go back?
At Costco they started selling the Explore Asian noodles that you've previosuly made a recipe with so that's been one of my new favorite items to buy there. I find that buying quinoa over there is super convenient since we make quinoa as a head start ingredient for the week ahead!
I love Costco! I live in Canada, so it might be a bit different. I like Quaker quick oats, trail mix, quinoa, and maple syrup! As for that butter... I've never seen white butter! Ours is always yellow, even the regular grocery store kind. I guess it really makes a difference where you live.
Hubby and I went to our Costco today. (Canada) I keep a list of my regular items, I purchase from Costco. I had Gastric by pass surgery to I need to take a lot of vitamins, all of which I purchase here. I love the Almond Breeze Vanilla unsweetened beverage. I purchase Premier Protein shakes (premade) to have on hand when I don't have time to make a shake. I try to buy cheese here as they have lots of delicious varieties and my real favorite item is the Delightful Diva crackers. Only 60 calories for 4 crackers and they can be eaten as a cookies as well. Hemp Seeds. Oh and I also like Bobs Red Mill Steel Cut Oats in the large bags.
Costco is hands down the best place for healthy non perishables. I work for Whole Foods but I can't lie. The price is just too good. If you're a busy person or on a budget, you gotta go. I haven't bought a toothbrush in 2 years :)
Great video! I'll definitely give some of those things a try next time I go to Costco. I really like Boom Chicka Pop, which I buy there. I don't think it's organic, but it IS non GMO and made with only four ingredients:)
Children who enjoy eating artichokes out of a bowl for snack time, lol. A true demonstration that children learn what they live. I'm single so my food choices are a bit limited at Costco (the packaging is just too huge for me), but I still manage to get some good deals: organic ground beef and chicken, wild caught salmon (I divide each into 4 parts and freeze individually so I have at least 8 portions in the freezer, wild-caught canned salmon, etc. If the product allows me to divide and store it easily, then I get it. I have to look for those organic frozen cherries. Now that's a snack for me! I just eat them as frozen treats or over vanilla yogurt. Great haul!! Thanks for sharing :-)
+YT4Me57 LOL! Trust me they eat plenty of sugar and pizza too - so I try when I can to get those veggies in;). Love the tip for individual freezing, super helpful.
Ever consider splitting your membership with a friend or two? They chip in a little towards your membership and then you split the cost of certain items. Say you both need toilet paper, you can buy the jumbo pack and divide it up evenly. Then, your friends just pay you back for their share. This can also work for food. You may not be able to eat a dozen yogurts before they go bad, but you can split the 12 pack with 1-2 friends. That will leave you with 4-6 yogurts and after being reimbursed, you'll still save money compared to buying it at the grocery store in many cases. (Plus, you may luck out and find out that the flavor your like least is your friend's favorite, which means you don't have to suffer through a flavor you dislike).
I love grocery hauls! I have Sams club Im thinking of switching to Costco because it just seems so much better and I actually grew up going to Costco with my mom so Im thinking yes :)
The things that always throws me about videos made in America is when someone has to mention 'pastured' milk products. Coming from nz I have to say I've never in my life seen a dairy product that has that label and I didn't realise until I was much older that other countries didn't keep their cows on grass. Scarily, by the amount of cattle we keep getting and the amount of feed that is getting feed to them each year that's going up, I hope we are not trending towards US standards. Also judging by our recent climate evaluation I'd say the jig is up, we're being greenwashed to the max so I won't be surprised. :/
+Red Deer Sadly, US cattle is fed corn & soy not because they care about the environment, it's because both are subsidized by the federal government, and therefore much cheaper. It's all about maximizing profit. It's really unhealthy and unnatural for the animal, which is why they're pumped with antibiotics. The hormones are used to make them larger, increasing yield. Whenever possible, organic free range grass fed beef is much healthier. Problem is, it can be 3 to 400% more costly.
+Joseph1NJ I think you misunderstand me (I agree with you though, no fear!) I would prefer that nz cattle do not go the same way as the US. nz has been drastically increasing the amount of cattle they have to the extent that they have begun to need to substitute their traditional grass feed diet with feed. That's mainly because it's our main source of income and therefore nz gets more profit the more they export. Keeping everything on a smaller more local scale would be much preferable, but like you said maximising profit seems to be their goal. Also +Clean & Delicious I think while it's only become popularised in recent years in mattered years ago and now is becoming out of control.
Red Deer I believe I may have ordered some whey protein from NZ specifically because of the natural cow milk. The risk is once they go "unnatural", such as the US did, there's no turning back.
I never knew you are right here in Jersey! Hi neighbor! Thanks for the great Costco haul. I am going to try some of the popcorn and the grass-fed butter.
I love Costco! Thank you for the list of groceries, I buy a lot of organic products there too, unfortunately here in Mexico Costco does not have the same products than in the USA, but still they have good products.
Thank you so much for doing this video. I was considering joining cosco but wondered what I would find there, would it be worth it? I made my list to buy as you talked. Perfect.
Hi Dani. thanks for sharing this video. I love shopping at Costco. I usually get organic quinoa, hummus, chia seeds, spring mix sald, almond butter, mixed nuts. etc..
Can you please talk about canned food? I always though canned food was bad for you but you seem to have quite a bit in your haul. Can you please talk about the benefits and risks?
No one seems to have commented on the placement of the cherry bag ... OMG Cracked me up way more than it should have!! haha .... thanks for the suggestions as far as what's a good value at Costco -- that store is SO BIG it, literally, gives me a headache. So anyway to get my money's worth and get out of the store somewhat quick - is a great idea!
These are big sizes even by American standards. Costco sells in bulk for really low prices. I can't shop there because it's too difficult for my family of four to eat that much food without it spoiling. They do pretty much have the best prices, though.
+Kristin G I'm single so I have a similar problem. I was thinking that maybe I could pair up with a friend and we could divide what we purchase together. It may be something to look into for you and your family as well.
I love to get the organic produce there like the spinach, mixed greens, carrots, sweet potatoes as well as quinoa, chia seeds/hemp seeds. Anything outside of that is usually stocking up on frozen organic fruit and sometimes their organic raw tortillas to have on hand, but I don't go for that too often. I love avocados too and do almost the same with with some ezekiel bread and smashed avocado and then I dash in some hot sauce and do a really good grainy mustard. Delish!!
Sardines... I live in a large Portuguese-populated area and they sell it here fresh frozen, imported from Portugal. I could never get into canned sardines, but oh my, medium to large sardines lightly fried in flavored oil is to die for. It's also delicious simply grilled outside with a sprinkling of sea salt. And now I'm drooling... I really need to go get some. I don't really shop at Costco, but do take advantage of their free memberships at random. It's just me and my husband here, and mom is by herself, so at most it would be 3 people to eat all that food. I stick to my local Shoprite usually.
I've been following you for years and somehow only just discovered this video. 9 of the items you highlight here are also on our "favorites" list for Costco. Especially the canned sardines which are a favorite of mine and my toddlers. In fact sardines were one of their early foods and they've loved them ever since much to the surprise of everyone we know. We probably eat 3 cans a week. I'm excited to check out some of your other favorites especially the anchovies and the artichokes.
We are a Costco people here for sure. Love to get the organic tortillas, quinoa, beets, frozen fruits, organic coffee, raw sugar....I could go on and on :)
Love Costco. I buy a lot of the same things you do. Jerry gold for sure. Also get a giant bag of chia seeds there. Love getting their Brussels sprouts and dates.
Thanks for sharing your shopping at the different stores that usually are at least coastal for the US or larger city. For example, this list was similar to my own shopping plus I found some new ideas. 🤗🌀🤝🌀👩🏻🍳🌀✔️
I have an apt size fridge/freezer so I have a space issue. I buy the 100% Organic Lemon Juice "Italian volcano" bottle 33.8 oz to also use for my daily warm lemon water to start the morning. I buy to keep in pantry - 100% organic "cooked brown rice bowls". I buy the blister/clam shell container of organic spinach and blend it all up immediately and freeze in cube forms for my smoothies.
They have kombucha at my Costco! Waaay less expensive than buying it at a regular grocery store. Almond butter, almond milk, nuts, chicken breast, Mary’s crackers and fish are my regular faves!
Thank You so much for posting this video. I had no idea that Costco carried all these types of items and had such a large fresh produce area! You eat your avocado toast like I do :) Namaste
Shopped? I worked there in the pharmacy for 15 years! I had to beeline to work and out of there without shopping. I could literally spend my paycheck there. I allowed myself to shop every two Weeks. Lunch every day was visiting the food booths since I knew all thr ladies.
Oh... this is going to be a long comment from me. I don't know how things work in your town, but when fresh cherries become available, they can range in price from 2 dollars a pound to 6 dollars a pound. When they get to that two dollar mark, I buy quite a bit, pit them, then freeze them. Usually, the two dollar a pound price is cheaper than the ones that you buy frozen. And I think you're the only person who likes anchovies besides myself. Ha ha. Thanks for the grocery haul, Dani. You gave me a few new great ideas. Now for my dumb question, it that popcorn already popped? Because you can whip up fresh organic popcorn for so much less in such a short time, I would think that you would prefer that route. I recently bought my mom an air popper to get her away from that microwave garbage, and she's quite happy with her new air popper. LOL when the phone rang!!!
+Thaneii We make fresh popped corn ALL the time. The reason I like the pre-popped isi for what my kids have a bunch of friends over and I want something FAST and easy that all kids like, popcorn always wins!
Using sparkly water mixed with anything we call "Schorle" in Germany and it is very very popular and it is also predone available like coke or any soda.
I go to Costco alot but I've never been into canned salmon..I'm used to buying it fresh..i loved the video..if you never tried there coconut clusters in the snack section you should :)
I wish I could show you my cabinets it looks like your haul :)The sardines and canned salmon are amazing I just made some salmon patties last night with a lemon poppy seed coleslaw on top of them. I wish they would bring back the popcorn :( have not seen it in a while it was so good :)
I go to Costco once a month and my usual items are the super huge jar of pickles, a flat of eggs, the avocado, 2 rotisserie chickens, jalapeno/garlic stuffed olives, the big canister of Parmesan, organic salsa with roasted jicama, bacon, sausage, fresh spinach, Kerrygold butter and Wholly Guacamole. Oh and I get my chia seeds there now because they are $10 for 2 pounds and I get the coconut oil there. It is usually a twin pack. $26 for 82 ounces. The rest of my groceries come from Aldi or Fresh Thyme Farmers Market.
Those products look great Dani. We have a few costco's here in Australia and you aren't kidding when you say it's a huge store 😳 I get lost walking around .
When I shop at Costco, I always buy Vita wild caught herring in the jar. So yummy, and so good for you. 😋 I have never seen that brand of popcorn. They carry Smartpop at our Costco. I buy that for my family. The frozen organic quinoa and kale is really good. My younger son likes the organic chocolate milk in the little boxes. I buy Mary's Gone Crackers when Costco carries them. It seems to be a seasonal item. I'm at our local Costco way too much! 😆
We love Buddha Bowl Popcorn too! We go to Costco probably every 2-3 months for Kirkland items like tuna, natural peanut butter, olive oil, butter, canned tomatoes, raw nuts, cheese, reg/decaf coffee, rotisserie chicken, grass fed beef, pork loin, vitamins/supplements, TP, paper towels and batteries as well as blueberries, bananas, golden kiwis, pomelo, frozen fruit, Tide, Dawn and on and on :)
I have always wondered why butter is white in the US (I am from Europe) and I feel so stupid....never thought of how the cows are fed. Thank you so much.....I feel better now and smarter...... btw this video was really helpful for tips and tricks..loved it!!
Thank you for your interesting pantry/freezer haul. I live in Australia.Sydney. We have a Costco mart 5 suburbs away. I don't shop there. To buy, you have to pay a $70.00 annual membership fee, this fee adds considerably to the price of going there. To make it a lot more cost effective (value for my money), I search catalogues, watch specials etc. Their household products (tissues, toilet paper, napkins vinegar etc) can be purchased much cheaper elsewhere.
oh.. i would've like a list of product to take with me this weekend that I will be near a costco.... the nearest one is 2.5hrs away! :'( I LOOOVE COSTCO... one thing I always always buy when I get there is that same maple syrup, kirkland :organic canned green beans, canned sweet corn, tomato paste and diced tomatoes... ALWAYS... nice to discover new recommendations...
Costco coconut oil for the win!! I also get the organic eggs, organic milk, maple syrup, cheese, old fashioned organic peanut butter, big loaves of sourdough bread, and lunch meat... they have this deli style whole turkey breast that isnt sliced up and the ingredient list is the best Ive ever seen for lunch meat. We have a meat slicer at home so its awesome!
Loved the out take. So question. Would this be considered a weeks worth of eating for a family of four? Or is your fridge stocked with other groceries? I guess what I'm asking is, "is this considered supplementing your grocery, staples, or a full weeks worth?" I have a family of six. I wouldn't buy all of the extra snacks but I really like all the ideas on how to use a lot of the products.
I loved this since I LOVE shopping at Costco. Aside from buying all the bath/kitchen musts (TP, paper towels, floss, etc.), I get oil from there. Their evoo is really good. And I get their organic canned tomato products as well as their organic chicken broth. Plus their bananas are super cheap!
great video. today I printed out your shopping list and went to local Costco. Except Veggie Burger and water. we bought pretty much everything else you recommended. :) Thank you for posting this video.
We LOVE the Lesser Evil popcorn! It's really amazing and you cannot beat that ingredient list, not even with homemade. We always buy the Kirkland organic tortilla chips and their bakery bagels. The Kirkland frozen turkey burgers are so delicious and if I remember correctly, the ingredients are just turkey and rosemary. If not, it's a short, easy list anyway. We also save a lot on TP and Eco-friendly laundry detergent too. LOVE COSTCO!!
I love Costco and BJS and trades Joe's. All of them have good quality of food. Dates at costco. I got black rice full of antioxidants. I do suggest to buy it next time. 😜love watching videos of groceries. Thanks
Great video, Dani, even if there is no Costco in Germany I'm afraid... : ( Could you please make a video on how you use the canned fish be tuna, salmon and the sardines? My husband loves tuna but I sometimes have a hard time preparing something interesting with it... Thanks, you are my favorite youtuber! ; )
Awesome Costco Haul! I absolutely love Costco! I may look for that popcorn for my mom because she loves the Skinny Pop Popcorn and the popcorn that you bought seems to sound really good! My favorite staples that I get at Costco are brussels sprouts, eggs, egg whites, spinach, almonds, cinnamon and frozen blueberries (for my rolled oats). Now as far as recent awesome finds, I recommend trying the AMYLU Kale and Mozzarella Chicken Burgers (they are surprisingly good, thank you costco for having these as a sample) and my new find and obsession is the Veggie Trail Mix by Rickland Orchards!! I try to stay away from store bought trail mix because they tend to have so much unnecessary sugar and salt that it makes it not worth it but honey!! This stuff is addicting and the macros are pretty good and the ingredients are pretty good as well. The veggie trail mix is comprised of-Dry Roasted Edamame, Toasted Corn, Dried Sweet Potato, Dried Green Beans, Dried Squash, Dried Carrot, High Oleic Canola, Safflower and/or sunflower oil, dried Taro, canola oil, salt, dextrin, sea salt. Now I don't know why it has both salt and sea salt and why it has both safflower and sunflower oil but it was really good. Oh and I just saw that they sell Sriracha, which is a huge staple for me! A must have on my eggs/egg whites in the morning.
Our Costco has great hummus, sometimes they have different flavors too. I meal prep for myself and my husband for work, I cut up veggies, hard boiled eggs w/little jar of hummus and use it as a mid day snack. Also I’ve started buying the coach’s rolled oats, I go thru a bag every month. I’m going to make your carrot cake protein balls soo im excited!!!
I'm in a household of two (husband + myself) but we have figured out how to do most of our shopping at Costco without being wasteful. Conventional grocery stores in Hawaii are very pricey ($6 gallon of milk, $8 carton of strawberries, etc) so we have learned to make it work with Costco. I always look forward to our bimonthly trips. Currently my favorite items are their kale and mozzarella chicken burgers and their sweet potato and taro chips.
I get Kirkland Greek yogurt at Costco on weekly basis. really good deal for two large containers. I also love their produce. it's a little on pricier side but everything is always delicious...especially the fruit. also, you should try their sweet kale salad mix! I'm hooked! :)
I would like to see how you incorporated anchovies into your recipes. I absolutely love them, especially with spaghetti squash. I am going to have to rethink the way I use them after you mentioned using them to flavor oil. Sounds yummy.
Really enjoyed watching this. Loved the quick tips on what you do with the buys. I don't live in the US but as someone who cooks for the family, everywhere I go (diff countries), I must make a trip to super or hypermarkets to get some interesting foodstuff to bring home!
Great video, I have to keep walking a lot at Costco cause I am tempted by all the processed foods that are organic BUT still budget-pre-packaged foods.
Hi Dani! I love watching your videos, but recently I went vegan and haven't been able to find a whole lot of vegan recipes in your channel. So I was wondering if in the future you could make more vegan recipes?? Thanks
Costco is my regular grocery store! We have a large family, but we still like to eat organically and they have such a large selection of bulk organic foods. I love that place😍
Thanks, for sharing. We moved away from Jersey 30 yrs ago, We sooo miss NY. style pizza...
Cage free organic eggs, unsweetened vanilla almond milk silk brand, organic grassed ground beef, organic frozen broccoli, organic frozen spinach and kale, coconut oil, almond butter, honey, all of these I purchase at Costco.
+Jezel Bow
I have not shop at Costco lately but I see more organic Food; before in Toronto just 3 years ago....only organic was 'hemp seeds'...so now is the time to go back?
yeah organic hemp from Alberta! we have all over Canada this product
Thanks Joe

Great video! I'll definitely give some of those things a try next time I go to Costco. I really like Boom Chicka Pop, which I buy there. I don't think it's organic, but it IS non GMO and made with only four ingredients:)

Oh darling. The cherries on the bag line up anatomically....
why don't you make your own pizzas? the kids would love helping out!!!
I never knew you are right here in Jersey! Hi neighbor! Thanks for the great Costco haul. I am going to try some of the popcorn and the grass-fed butter.

+Berlandina YEs - they are pretty popular here.

You gain bonus points with me... I LOVE COSTCO!!!!!
just got a Costco membership and can't wait to buy Amy Soups in large amounts. those soups are a staple at our house the low sodium kinds for sure.
+Amino Wellness :)
Everything is so huge in America. Look at those bags of popcorn or the bags with the frozen berries, or the honey.. So funny.
Lovely video Dani!

costco is a bulk food store
+Ana Luisa Lima So true. Along with the obesity rate here as well. Its a national epidemic.
Love Dani's channel though. Lots of heathly ideas.
Ana Luisa Lima Thats the reason why obesity is everywhere
I had no idea Costco had any healthy option or organic anything! Wow!
I love to get the organic produce there like the spinach, mixed greens, carrots, sweet potatoes as well as quinoa, chia seeds/hemp seeds. Thank you for sharing your grocery haul video with us.. I’ve made a list of items to buy & try.
BTW - I love sardines on toast with mustard. 👍

I've been thinking about getting a CostCo membership, so this is really helpful!
It's usually worth it for the gas discount alone!

I buy fresh Salmon, Apples, mixed salad, avocados, grapes, frozen berries and birthday cakes.
Love the idea of making the seltzer drinks with fruit concentrate. What brands of fruit concentrate do you use?
I quit drinking alcohol over 5 years ago and my go-to drink is seltzer and cranberry or another juice. Simple, delicious and refreshing!
Thank You so much for posting this video. I had no idea that Costco carried all these types of items and had such a large fresh produce area! You eat your avocado toast like I do :)

Great Haul but what I wanted to know have you ever been to SAM's CLUB? and is their a difference in the food at Sam's versus Costco? Thanks
I'm from NY and moved to NC. People laugh when I tell them about anchovies on pizza they laugh about fish on pizza
I love that popcorn. My boss brought that with her when we traveled to North Dakota, almost ate the whole bag
Using sparkly water mixed with anything we call "Schorle" in Germany and it is very very popular and it is also predone available like coke or any soda.
up here in Canada, Costco doesn't offer much selections as you. most of the brands you've shown, I have never seen before.... :(
try the mozzarella balls with grape tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion and vinaigrette. super delicious
I go to Costco alot but I've never been into canned salmon..I'm used to buying it fresh..i loved the video..if you never tried there coconut clusters in the snack section you should :)
do a 2018 haul since they are always updating what they sell!
I buy lots of cleaning items that last longer than regular ones and pantry staples like peanut butter, olive oil, ketchup, etc
We get cases of water, organic zucchini and yellow squash, rotisserie chicken and gas at Costco
I wish I could show you my cabinets it looks like your haul :)The sardines and canned salmon are amazing I just made some salmon patties last night with a lemon poppy seed coleslaw on top of them. I wish they would bring back the popcorn :( have not seen it in a while it was so good :)
+keylimekisses Wow, lemon poppyseed coleslaw sounds delicious!
Another excellent video!! I learn something new every time I watch your videos!
Silly but the bag of cherries right underneath your shirt 😜.... great videos!
I can tell your from the east coast. Because I moved to the midwest and they look at me as if I have three heads when I eat my fishes. :)
great grocery haul! thanks for sharing 👍 💕 ☺
I actually buy those sardines in Costco. They are very good and healthy
All those plastic bottles!! Why!!! Please buy a soda stream or buy glass
Those products look great Dani. We have a few costco's here in Australia and you aren't kidding when you say it's a huge store 😳 I get lost walking around .
PB2. I use it on my smoothies. Sweet mesquite, tomato sauce and tomatoes canned.
This video taught me how to pronounce salmón in english
I like the big bags of raw almonds
Did you ever look up which waters pass the alchaline test?
What brand do you recommend for the cranberries concentration?
Do you ever make a salmon Patty with the canned salmon?
OMG thanks so much, I took notes even! Yes, continue doing these, so helpful.
+Kathy Hazlett Will do! I love that you took notes :)
Doing whole 30, most of those things would not make it to my house.
So I went and got the popcorn and I ate the whole bag alone in 2 days..
Are they cool with letting people record in there or did you just wing it?
+Clean and Delicious you make cooking so much fun
The salmon has a really high amount of salt what you you think about that
I absolutely love this video by the way....so many helpful tips packed in here!
Where do you do your normal weekly shopping?
Could you please make a video on how you use the canned fish be tuna, salmon and the sardines?
I just recently discovered Buddha Bowl popcorn myself (I got the Wasabi flavor) and I completely agree Dani, it's quite delicious :)
I’m going to make your carrot cake protein balls soo im excited!!!
how many ounces is the big bag of popcorn?
I'm in a household of two (husband + myself) but we have figured out how to do most of our shopping at Costco without being wasteful. Conventional grocery stores in Hawaii are very pricey ($6 gallon of milk, $8 carton of strawberries, etc) so we have learned to make it work with Costco. I always look forward to our bimonthly trips. Currently my favorite items are their kale and mozzarella chicken burgers and their sweet potato and taro chips.
I've got a huge family so we love Costco - I am so excited about how many new organic options they're adding every time I go - Yay!
Thanks
