I think Moody has exactly what he was wondering around looking for. He has a family that love him. He is fed at the same time each day. He has plenty of water, grass, and hay. He has companions in his paddock. He does not have to wander to find food. His needs are met and he now feels security for the first time in a long time. Thank you for taking him in and making him a part of your beautiful farm family.
I completely love and respect you and your delightful family! I am amazed by every thing you do for your adorable fur friends! Such Love. . . 💕💖💕 You are an inspiration.
I hope you put the water station where Nugget can help you. He loved playing in the water coming out of the faucet. It was so cute to watch him. Love how the 40 is progressing.
I would recommend against a permanent halter for Moody that is left on… it is easy for them to get caught on things and can result in them injuring themselves. If he were to get caught on a T post and get a fright he could get hurt, as well as wreck the fence possibly letting other animals out. I would only leave a halter on under supervision for an hour or so at a time, so that if he goes to rub his head on something while wearing it, you can easily intervene. The halter you have already is perfectly fine for training, with the benefit of it being adjustable, it is the style I used to use back when I was handling and showing cattle. Love that he has found you guys ❤️
I agree. Horses and cattle can get into messes you never thought they would. With that kind of fence and posts, I think it would be dangerous to leave a halter on.
Some halters have leather that fastens behind the head. We had a horse at the stable I worked at that hated to be caught. Her owner left a halter on that was poly except where it adjusted behind the head. That may seem bad but I assure you the leather would break if it had the weight of a large animal trying to get unstuck from something. Worth thinking about. :) Edit: Or those chain breakaway bling necklaces they use on the goats is a good idea too. :) Pro tip! Animals that don't want to have a halter on will be wary when you try to put one on. Use your lead rope...Walk to them, loop the lead over their neck while they are getting love and then they can't get away when it is halter time. Well unless you drop one end and it will let them loose quickly should you need to rethink your plan. :)
Oooh, I just LOVE Moody so much. I think a permanent halter is a great idea. Just check under it from time to time to make sure it’s not rubbing his beautiful hair off. He is SO ADORABLE! He’s a very HAPPY and BLESSED steer.
@@caroldorsett8170 Sorry that happened, what a horrific tragedy. Jason’s had some very good advice from seasoned cattle farmers, he told us. They know their onions so to speak. Try not to worry 🕊

Best video yet! Jason dancing!! Looking good Man! Congratulations on a good job! Something to consider: Make sure there's no way for Moomoo to get his perm. halter stuck on anything. If he does there might be lots of damage as that big boy tries to get it unstuck! He is such a sweetie.
You had me laughing out loud when you did your dance Jason! Love your channel and watching you and Brooke having such a good time even while you work. HUGS to you both and that sweet MaryCarl!
Congrats on the completed water system for the animals. Love the daily feeding and loving on the animals. Moody is a character and he adds so much to the farm. Can’t wait for the new pasture to be built and new pasture animals to be added.
Did they say they’re getting more and different animals besides animals the already have? Maybe sheep?? I know new baby goats are coming in the future 💕

Congratulations on the awesome plumbing job!! 🎉🎊👏🥳🥳🎊🎉 That was One Big Job! Placing a permanent halter on cattle is not quite as dangerous as horses, but it does have some concerns. An animal can get a foot caught in the halter very easily when scratching near their ears or neck. The larger the animal, the more potential there is for serious or even fatal injury. I personally never left an animal unattended with a halter on. If they get a foot caught, especially a hind foot, it will cause serious neck injuries. The larger animals especially can go down and suffer “gut tie” and perish within just a few minutes. Be sure to get a break away halter that will literally break away if too much pressure is put on the head stall portion. I personally do not feel permanent halters are worth the risk of a freak accident unless the animal is needing to be moved or led around on a daily basis and under constant supervision. This is purely my opinion, but a thought from a different perspective. I have enjoyed and appreciated your love and passion for your farms. Thank you for sharing and bringing us along your on your adventures and journey! ❤️❤️❤️
I seriously agree with everything but the " gut tie up " statement. That takes hours of no water available to the animal. But the rest is true. And I have stated it multiple times. I was raised on a farm with cattle & horses. Had horses until a few years ago, during my divorce. Cattle off & on all my life. I'm over 60 so it's been a long time & I have seen other people's animals suffer & die or needed to be shot to stop their suffering.

It's not safe for animals to wear collars/halters while running free in the pastures. PLEASE STAY SAFE, and DO NOT put a permanent collar/halter on any of your animals. Especially cows/horses who are always scratching on tree branches & fence posts which they can get the collar/halter caught & choke or break their necks bcuz they freak out. They are strong enough to snap their own necks. Only put halters/collars on when moving or loading or trimming their feet.
Congratulations on your plumbing. The fact that you do all that work and can still dance at the end of the day, says your still young and enjoying your new 40. GREAT JOB.

I greatly admire your family’s work ethic and “Never Give Up” attitudes. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork! Love & Blessings to each and all at the beautiful Cog Hill 40❣️
Jason if I were you I would use stainless steel hose clamps on the hydrants and T post connection instead of that wire that way you will have a strong connection between the two. Reason being the hydrants are pretty hard to turn on.
That was fantastic work Jason. Happy for you, Brooke and Mary Carl things are coming along. The farm animals look happy. God Bless you, Brooke, Mary Carl and your mom-in-law. Jan From Texas
Are you planting any shade trees in your (future) goat, pig and cow pastures? Most of them need shade not to get sunburn or heat-stress in summer, just like we do.
Well done! Pleased for you. Are you going to have live stock for freezer camp in the future and be self reliant ? Look forward to your veg patch and house build.
Love watching your farm and all the work with the water lines for your animals, just wondering do your outside dogs have shelter? Your doing such a great job!
I have seen halters on Simmental bulls for an indoor auction so I’m sure you can find a large enough halter for Moody. Here’s a great story for everyone. I grew up in Texas. In the 1970’s, We were invited to a Simmental cattle auction. It was indoors on THE TOP FLOOR OF THE FAIRMONT HOTEL in Dallas. It was BLACK TIE cocktails, dinner, and auction. They built an enclosed runway at the end of the ballroom and brought the bulls up on the freight elevator. The money spent that night was almost unbelievable! Once in a lifetime experience.
I can see Moody skipping around the sprinkler
The best part of this video (for me) was Jason dancing, we needed Brooke out there dancing with you! Congrats on the plumbing! I knew you could do it!

I don't know about leaving a halter on all the time you know how we feel at the end of the day to relax out of daily items. Do what you think is best love ya show. It's all alot of work but someday you will look back and wonder how you did it!!
Congratulations Jason, great job 🥰🥰
To keep chickens calm we would tuck their head under a wing, works great and still have a free hand for opening gate/door etc. Keep up the great work.
I enjoy you so much! You always make me smile, giggle and laugh! I think Mr. Moody was such a great addition to your Cog Hill 40. Can’t wait to see your next video. Love your family. I’m so thankful for you! Blessings!
I know it’s a LOT of hard work, but what an amazing feeling it must be to know you’ve done it yourselves. Impressed with every video all of the things y’all accomplish.
I'm so excited when I watch this wonderful story..his man 👨 is soo hard working in all his activities...how are you doing over there? I hope all is well over there!!
Congratulations! I know y’all are over the mooon on the successful completion of the water pipe project!! Jason, you are a perfectionist, as are Brooke and MaryCarl. I greatly admire your family’s work ethic and “Never Give Up” attitudes. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork! Love & Blessings to each and all at the beautiful Cog Hill 40❣️
Haven't seen that dance in such a long time, I truly LOVE it and it just made my day ... Thank You !!!
Congrats Jason I know that was hard work !!! Great Job!!
That was a monumental task to run water lines all around your farm. Great job! Thanks for the celebration dance -- loved it!
What a beautiful farm Jason!
Great job Jason 👍🏽 As someone who also has anxiety I know the struggle. You kicked butt 🏆
Are you planting any shade trees in your (future) goat, pig and cow pastures? Most of them need shade not to get sunburn or heat-stress in summer, just like we do.
Great job with the water I have to say I really love Moody next time you dance you're going to have to get Brooke out there with you
Well done! Pleased for you. Are you going to have live stock for freezer camp in the future and be self reliant ? Look forward to your veg patch and house build.
Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃. You guys bring smiles to so many beautiful people and you fill the days with so much love ❤️ 💙🧡❤️💜👍
Love watching your farm and all the work with the water lines for your animals, just wondering do your outside dogs have shelter? Your doing such a great job!
Yes they do have some houses for the big dogs.
@@debbiecozortakalonghornmom1862 good too know just never seen them but I’m new on here also Thanks
You can now call yourself a professional 40 farm plumber. The celebration dance took the prize!
