Criminal and civil cases are separate, she may very well still be able to do so. That or she may not have been able to prove it was her so she went for civil
But also, as she said the house exploded so much that there wasn't enough clear evidence.
Unfortunately, even criminal court may not have given her $$$ as restitution for her home. There is no guarantee, even with a guilty verdict/sentence. Know from experience. It is very sad and heartbreaking.

I hope this is a lesson to everyone to be mindful of who you allow into your dwelling. I went through something similar (minus the house blowing up). Once someone starts receiving mail at your address and they’ve been there a certain amount of time then you must proceed with a proper eviction. If the plaintiff did that before hand I feel like her house would still be standing. The defendant is really a terrible person for this.

I don't blame the plaintiff for not liking and respecting the defendant at all, because I definitely don't like or respect her myself. And not only that, the defendant crossed that big line setting the plaintiff's house on fire by touching the pilots on the stove like that. And I also hate that her father disrespected his daughter by letting the defendant in there after he was told not to. The defendant also need to spend the rest of her life in jail. Because she knew it was illegal for her to enter the plaintiff's house like that. She also knew that she's not a resident in the plaintiff's house. And what she said at the end was cruel and disgusting. And not only that, she's a horrible person. And I hope she rots in hell
