Thanks, this was helpful information I was looking for and finally found it. Originally, I thought about formulating my own in the beginning but realized this would require a lot more time, money and resources along with testing. I think doing private label with an established already tested formula to get started will not only help me gain more insight and experience in this industry but can get some cash flow going and moving product while I work on my own formula in the process to make the transition in the long run. Right now I'm going to be doing sample testing from each vendor and get feed back from other people before I decide on which one to go with before putting my brand name and logo on it.
I looked at private label but realised it was just basically a generic white label with a tweek. I ended up creating my very own Bespoke formulas which is more money upfront but the rewards are far greater & Because of this I legally own my product formulas too.
Thank you for your reply. Yes, it is white label, which my video is about. Many companies start off their business using private label products, and many larger companies use private label as well. It's a great way to create your own product line, with a lower cost. There are pros and cons to both, which I also explained in my video. This was to educate business owners about exactly what private labeling is, and make a decision on what is best for them. Either option can be very rewarding. Thanks for watching, and good luck!
Love how you not only give the business side but your own personal experience. Letting people know to do their own research is key. Most people will not due that. They will suggest what products to use.
Thank you so much for inspiring me and pushing me to go forward with starting my hair care line for black women and kids. All the information was very detailed and much needed. Thanks again beautiful. Your skin and makeup is flawless
Ok now! I'd love some info on your products when you launch. And stay tuned because my course on private labeling will be launching soon! Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you so much for all of the gems you have been dropping! I have been binge watching your videos today...and, yes, I did subscribe. 😁 Very valuable information and I hope to be able to use these tips to have a successful business in the near future.
This is really great information! Thank you. And may I suggest FAIRE as a vendor source. I was just approached by a boutique to private label my parent company’s (Pure Lux Face & Body) face cleansing balm. FAIRE has really nice terms and has basically vetted and researched the companies someone may be interested in reaching out to.
Hi Drew, fantastic video, thank you for sharing so many insights. Hoping you will share one more, how did you create you youtube channel introduction which is played at the start of each of your videos? i would like to do something similar and have no idea where to start! thanks so much
Hello! I actually paid a videographer to put it together for me. I gave her the pictures to use and she made it. I'd suggest that I'd you don't know how to or don't have the time to make one yourself
@@TheBeautyBusinessBoss Thanks for taking the time to respond, really appreciate it and thank you, good to know and I think i shall do the same, yours looks great!
I'm going to do that but idk if I should show the legal certificate of my supplier so people don't acuse me of lying about the no animal testing, vegan and non toxic ingredients claims people can be so mean and love to nitpick and cancel you over nothing I'm so scared to start because of it
I have a question about the insurance part it’s mandatory for private label ? And who would I talk to the vendor for theirs if they’re supplying it or I find my own
It's absolutely mandatory! It protects you in case someone was to come after you in case they have a reaction to your products. You'd have to find your own through your insurance company
I wouldn't get products from there because the formulations. If you're licensed, you should use your license to get pro products. If you want to get tools and other little things to sell in your store, those are great websites to use.
Hey girl, what if you see a ladies bag on Amazon, and you want that bag replicated by a Chinese manufacturer on Alibaba, do you just slap a label there and start selling on Amazon or you need trademark , etc?
Hey, I'm not an expert on trademarks, but I can give you my take on it. If you have a unique logo or brand, and something that you plan on marketing on a larger scale, I'd recommend trademarking. But keep in mind that the trademark process is very long and expensive. You can easily go to Alibaba and have them put your label and branding on their products. That's a good place to start
Yes I do! Loans aren't for everyone, but if you use them correctly and don't abuse them they're a good way to get started. Remember: regardless of how much money you make you'll have to pay it back. Look into a local credit union first because they cater to small businesses. And check out sba.gov for loan and grant info.
Hey girl, thank you so much for this video! This was so informative and I am so grateful! Question - I am on a tight budget, how much would you estimate it costs to private label for haircare products (shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, etc.)? Also, just fyi, there's a menu tab on your website and I think it's a template carryover from wix.
Great question! I'd recommend that you pick 2 or 3 products to start with just to make it easy. With everything, you could get started for about $1,000. That includes products, packaging, insurance, website, and labels. That number could go up or down a little depending on the prices and exactly how many you decide to start with.

Great tips, thank you. Please I would like to know if it is a legal requirement to disclose vendor / supplier information on the private label ?
No it's not necessary. That's one of the good things about private label, you can create your own name and branding, so the product line is yours!
Thank you💜

There are a lot of good ones. Aesthetic Backbar, Prana, Onaxa, Martinni beauty, Wholesale natural body care are a few good ones that I can think of
