Long long ago we had an electric one. Not with this junk with a vacum cleaner motor, a mower with 3/4 or 1HP induction motor. Pretty heavy motor, good inertia. We used it to cut a really good surface (2 to 3hr continous) and survived several years. It was a proper lawnmover from a brand that only makes lawnmovers, not an appliance pretending to cut grass. With a proper 1HP induction motor you can "go places" ... LOL. Of course it will never match a gas powered one. But pretty decent got the job done. It barely stalled under normal conditions.
