    Totally agree on the Omas 360, esp. want the Magnum. I also got to use the Leonardo Prisma while at the Stilo & Stile store...and they wouldn't sell it :-)

    Somewhere in my home is an Omas arco bronze celluloid milord. I purchased it at an astonishingly good price before I was ready to own such an amazing pen (I had finally filed for divorce, it was, at best ,contentious and I moved 2000 miles from home.) So I hid it from myself.
    I haven't finished unpacking yet.. I'm delighted that I was able to write with it and then clean it. 😊

    I am the proud owner of a Platinum Carbon Ink Desk Pen which ran me $14. Right after I bought it they changed the name and nib, both for the worse. My go-to layout pen.

    If it wasn't for the price, then I would have loved a Del Mar pen in my collection. My family and I visited San Diego and enjoyed a great time in Del Mar. Awesome pen and awesome name! David your collection is mesmerizing. Im sure you struggle to use all your pens. I am curious, what pen in your collection is the most used pen? Maybe another top 10 video topic. Love your content!

    What a beautiful collection, I'll add the Del Mar in the grail pen list when your stock is sold :) I was fortunate enough this year to purchase my grail pen, without triggering a divorce, and it was the Visconti Jacques de Molay, by far the most expensive pen of my collection but I was fortunate enough to find it NOS with a fine nib so perfect for me. I own other Viscontis but this one is really special and as an history buff this pen talks to me. My other interest is in astrophysics and as you shown in your video, space themed pens are not too difficult to find so there are only beautiful pens there but nothing that comes close to grail level. In any case thanks for this very nice review of your top 10 pens!

    So glad I was able to get a Faber-Castel Loom with nib! Matte-black cap with shiny gunmetal barrel and clip was all that was available to me at the time. I love it.
    The Psycho Montblanc is so cool!
    I remember when you got the Sailor KoP Sky. You were so excited that I was excited for you. Congrats.
    Your brace of Classic LB5 pens is just spectacular! They are breathtaking. Whole nother level.
    Thanks for the show!

      I have a Faber-Castel Loom . I hate it. The grip hurts my hand quickly, and the cap is rather hard to remove. But my favorite ink SBRE Brown goes smashingly with it, and the nib is great. I have it inked all the time. I use it only to write cards and address envelopes.

      I keep my Faber Castell Loom simply because it matches my favorite ink: SBRE Brown. It hurts to write anything of length with it, and the snap cap is comparatively hard to remove. 🙃

    I too hesitated on the Kumpoo but jumped on the Voyager Del Mar (#12) ! Love my Sailor Sky KOP; had one CONID and sold it; the clip was not machined to perfection; have since acquired a CONID Wild Tiger; much better quality control. Thanks for sharing.

      Wild Tiger is a great material for Conid, but it was way out of my pen budget for this year, unfortunately. Maybe it will come back for Regular model some time, the Antwerppen Regular fits my hand just perfectly.

    Dave:
    What exactly is "Arco"? Is that a material? Or is it the style, color, and layering style of that resin? Is it a rare material??

    • @FigbootonPens
      @FigbootonPens  21 день назад +6

      It's the material...arco celluloid. The material is no longer manufactured. If you check out my review of the Omas Milord, I go into more detail.

    • @jacobus57
      @jacobus57 21 день назад +3

      @@FigbootonPens doesn't one need to be careful, however, because it's my understanding that there are new celluloids being manufactured in China that claim the arco name.

      @user-br3sl9go3b 20 дней назад +1

      First on line for $4,000 or $5,000? Well, I guess that's well within the norm. Just a day ago, an old jersey worn by Babe Ruth, a Yankee super-star baseball player and an American icon -- sold for, wait for it, sit down and take a deep breath, $24 million. Two years ago a dealer paid $195 million for a silkscreen of Marilyn Monroe -- basically just an old-fashioned method of stenciling developed nearly 125 years ago by advertisers to sell their stuff. Proof that money makes the world go 'round. Always did. Always will.

    I'm trying to get one omas.. But the models are so confusing and there doesn't seem to be any proper descriptions of the pens anywhere.. If only there was a video of a comparison of different old and new omas models

    • @jacobus57
      @jacobus57 21 день назад +1

      Do not under any circumstances get a "new" Omas, because they aren't Omas. There is plenty of information about original Omas pens available if you put a little effort into searching it out.

    Torture, pure torture. I've had (and actively considered) a DB5 and an Omas 360 in my hands at the DC Supershow (some years back) at retail but passed on both as above my budget. Wish I''d stretched! And I hunted for awhile for that Monty Winfield, similarly without luck. At least I have a Loom and each of those two Lamys you showed!

      I have the Faber-Castell Loom and hate it. Painful to write with for any length of time, and the cap is comparatively hard to remove. But my broad nib is nice and the pen looks great with my favorite ink: SBRE Brown.

      @@user-br3sl9go3b No reason to hang onto a pen you hate, as there are so many other pens that you may enjoy. Just pack up that Loom and send it to me. PM and I can give you my mailing address. I am not kidding. Well, I am kidding, but I'll gladly take the Loom off your hands and your desk. With a bit of persuasion, I might even send you a bottle of brown ink, all natural, handmade in the USA, based on a pre-colonial era method. Let me know.

    I think a lot of people have pens like thiis, if you have been collecting pens for decades.
    My list is mostly ballpoints as fountisn pen versions were just out of my price range.
    Parker 180
    Visconti Divina (original relelase)
    CrossTownsend Jade and Lapis
    Delta Indigenous People Masaai
    Visconti Titanic
    Stipula Ra (only 18 ballpoints were ever made)
    Omas Milord with Arco Celluloid
    Retro 51 Toenado with make-i finish (Dragon image, only 150 made)
