Very helpful video. I would add, that disconnecting the battery resets a number of settings in the Bolt including the Hill Top Reserve which I had turned on to keep the car within the recommended constraints of less than 90% charge. When I saw that I had more miles than expected on the charge after battery replacement I checked the HTR and indeed it had been turned off by the disconnection of the battery. I'll say that at the time of this writing, turning on HTR is still recommended by GM for Bolts that do not have the software fix (which I believe limits charge to 80%) and do not have the main battery replacement yet. So, things may change in time, but it's worth at least making a note that some settings may return to factory default.
You may want to mention in a disclaimer, or for sure the tool list in the video description, that a long ratchet extension is needed for the final bolt to get the 12v battery retention bar removed. That last bolt is a good 8-9” down in there. I don’t think most people will have the correct extension for it-I certainly didn’t, and had to go buy a 10” extension to complete my 12v swap.
Don't be a Dummkopf as I was and leave the new battery in the trunk area with the rear hatch closed. I learned, of course, that the rear hatch will not open without a 12 volt battery.connected. I was able to open the unlocked back door, lower a seatback and drag the new battery out that way.
Hi - Thanks for watching! We don't have access to that vehicle any longer to be sure, so we suggest that you check the vehicle owner's manual for that.
If you still need help, there's a lever on the driver side under the steering wheel, once the hood pops up you can stick your fingers under the hood and press another lever near the middle of the hood which will allow you too open the hood fully

What kind of extension did you buy specifically?
At this moment, a tutorial about how to replace the traction battery will probably be more useful. Joke aside, thank for posting.

What is the BIA battery group size for the Bolt EV ?
Is the later part of the video needed for the 2017 Bolt? Do we have to register the new battery into the battery management system?
Hi - Thanks for watching! We recommend that you check the vehicle owner's manual or a service/repair manual to be sure.
HOW DO I OPEN the hood to access the 12 V battery on a 2019 BOLT ?

How dare you say 13 mm wrench and still use a deep socket.
