  • For this episode of Stimming's ongoing series, Martin take a closer look at IK Multimedia's Uno Synth Pro Desktop, a Paraphonic analog synthesizer with step sequencer, arpeggiator and effects section.
    The versatile machine weaves together three wave morphing oscillators, the original OTA filter from the manufacturers Uno Synth plus an SSI-based filter with self oscillation. On top of this there’s’ an on board 16 slot modulation matrix, delay, reverb and modulation capabilities via the effects panel, 13 adjustable scales that are playable across its 32 capacitive touchplate keys. The synthesiser can also be easily midi implemented and clocked via both USB and DIN.
    Let’s find out how Stimming got on with this latest addition to the IK Multimedia hardware synth collection.
    As a side note to this video, some of you might remember Stimming's Electronic Beats TV review of the Uno Drum Synth of which his conclusion wasn’t a good one and there was a lot back and forth in the internet and in different forums. But at 2022’s Superbooth they met accidentally and had a nice chat and Stimming got a Synth Pro Desktop for free. Here you can hear a fresh opinion on what the company has to offer with this most recent synthesiser production. And you can be sure this is 100% Stimming honesty.

    Finally..been awaiting for this like a month now..wish the review was like an hour. But it was honest and im liking my Pro more after this. That sound and effects are so buzzing. Not much synths sound this great for that price.
    Thank you Stimming for another great explaination...

      @@femto859 not really. I guess the modmatrix and menu diving is a bit of a search..but once you get that handled it is really versatile...the reeverb is really great but i think the delay is a bit simple. Still i say one of the best mono synths out there...i.m.o.

    @frankenfrank9553 Год назад +5

    Thanks for the review. It's a pity that you have a (not comprehensible) time limit and don't just make the reviewas long as it takes. I find the synthesizer aesthetically pleasing, but many find it ugly. The sound is really top and the price is fair. In my opinion, the touchplate keyboard is not that bad, enough for playing around with sounds. For more, just use a midi controller =). Better than no keyboard at all, after all, it is the desktop version. What I find really bad are the micro USB ports and the software. You are forced to register it @IKM Product Manager to use the editor, get updates, etc.. There have also been massive problems with firmware upgrades for several people, according to some forums. What I really appreciate is that IKM is taking a new approach and not cloning some classic. You can also hear that in the sound, you can say that it sounds independent. Overall, I think it's a great device for the price.

    Somehow our reactions here got killed (probably because of URL's). But anyway, again a great review by herr @Stimming_official. The reason this thing sounds so good is probably because one of the designers of the Alesis Andromeda team was involved: Erik Norlander. So makes us wonder how a real poly from them would sound...

  • @henryAightch
    @henryAightch Год назад +4

    That thing sounds really nice! Idea: Instead of companies reinventing keyboards, why not just assume everyone has a MIDI keyboard that we could plug into a keyboardless machine and that way they can invest the effort of creating a new keyboard into just adding more features into the instrument or lower the price.

    Hallo 👋, ich finde Sie hätten sich vorab ein-zwei Stunden in das Gerät einarbeiten sollen. In so einem kurzen Video x-Mal zu hören dass Hold nicht funtkioniert, obwohl es offensichtlich an der falschen Bedienung liegt, ist schade und wird dem Teil nicht gerecht. Die Matrix ist eigentlich auch recht simple zu bedienen, wenn man es einmal verstanden hat. Da gibt es weitaus komplexere Geräte. Es gibt einiges an dem Synth zu kritisieren (insbs. microUSB, Stromversorgung, etc.), aber auch vieles das man loben kann. Ein bezahlbarer Synth der nicht versucht irgendeine alte Legende zu imitieren mit einem "mutigen" Look. Top! Auch finde ich die Touchplates für ein Desktopgerät (dass ja für die Nutzung mit Midi-Keyboards gedacht ist) sehr nett und der USP hat potential für modulare Anwendungen. Am Ende ist das wahrscheinlich auch alles subjektiv. Ich finde das Teil auch nicht hässlich. Gesundes Neues Jahr!
