Seeing how this song and video are from 1979 I think it's fair to say Robert Palmer was almost 10 years ahead of his time. Everything in the song screams late 80s.

I have always loved artists who put the heart and soul into their art. You could FEEL the emotion in their music. I feel the same about MEATLOAF. He couldn't he more opposite than Palmer but, you can just feel the emotion in his songs. Also, both are widely underrated, underappreciated artists

Robert Palmer is the James Bond of Rock n Roll! This has to simply be one of the best songs of all time! I never get tired of hearing it! I feel sorry for those of you that missed the 70's and 80"s when we actually had great musicians, singers and songs (unlike the crap they make now)! RUclips is great so I can watch all these artists now that I heard on the radio then!

Great singer, great song writer. Never really bought him as a frontman, though. By his own admission he would tour with The Power Station as bands such as Bon Jovi who were touring at the time eclipsed what he could do as a solo artist. Smart man, pioneer, made great vids for his great tunes. Good albums, but his Greatest Hits, the collection of these magnificent songs, is in itself a classic. Sorely missed.

Definitely the James Bond of Rock - suave, debonair, and surrounded by stunningly beautiful ladies. Underrated. I couldn't imagine any of those 007'S in the movies having a good singing voice. Pierce Brosnan in Mama Mia, oh dear! stick to the acting Pierce - painful. Palmer had a smooth, powerful, great voice. A musical icon of the 80's. I think 'Addicted to love' is my abiding memory of Robert when I was a boy in the 80's. RIP Robert Palmer.
