I think this comes back to what lilith noted with the giant shark at the start of egghead, no matter how hard they try they can't program base instincts away. So I think this is still base intellect Kuma just being the best guy at his very core

Craziest thing is it's not clear at all what will happen in the next chapters. Kuma might very well lose against Saturn, Kizaru might very well betray the WG (if he hasn't already), there's a giant fricking robot approaching, Luffy is getting back to Gear 5, there's still the possibility Blackbeard appears out of nowhere, etc.

12:21 Oda gave a hint there! Notice on page 6 where luffy is eating food, we can see the bowl of noodles from kizaru. Its the same bowl kizaru was eating from on chapter 1089 page 9. Another argument to back it up is Kizaru is the only one able delivering food to luffy fast enough without anyone noticing it.
I would like to point out that Borsalino / Kizaru could also become active against Saturn once he regains his strength and is able to move again (especially after it came out in the last chapters that he also obeys more under duress than voluntarily), judging by the picture of him lying on the ground, having just learned that Sentomaru and Bonney have been captured. He seems very sad about this information.

Kizaru's motto is unclear justice, so providing the food to Luffy to make him able to fight again, may be all he's willing to do, since Luffy was out of stamina because of him in the first place. What happens after that is left to fate.
It's no surprise that Kuma will perish soon. But if he does, then do you think we'll see a Gear 5th Luffy go WB on Saturn. Which may result in us seeing more serious side of the Sun God, even if it helps make the Elders right on their opinion on that deity?!

Saturn talks about that Bonney did not connect the dots to Luffy yet. Maybe believing in Luffy. In a free world/future/Nika is the reason Kuma can move and Bonney only partially. Like she can move but is still weak bc she is unsure about Nika. But Kuma knows/believes Nika is luffy and so he is free of everything.
We saw franky’s poster to be the sunny ship of the straw hat’s crew . We also know that kuma is programmed to keep sunny safe , what if kuma returned for saving franky as we know that there has to be something serious about bounty posters just like sanji’s poster otherwise oda doesn’t mess with posters.

Probably not artificial or haki related at all outside resistance to it, the freezing people and killing them with just a look is kinda the main schtick of the demon his devil fruit is based on.
There's a fourth possibility. Luffy's Nika powers give him the ability to alter reality, at least in the white form. What if that power doesn't just exist in the white form? What if, when he wants it badly enough, he alters reality in all forms? It would explain so much about his other gears that doesn't make sense. tldr: what if Luffy provided himself the food?
I do hope it's kizaru who helped feed luffy. It's out from the left field, but i'd laugh if it's leo and the others from the tontatta kingdom and it turns out, the straw hat grand fleet are there by chance or bec somehow bartolomeo wanted to see his idol again. I think Kuma's action is due to his instinct. Hinted by Dragon of him saying about an "Instinct Fragment". It may or may not be a part of his programming but I believe it's due to him being the father and having the natural instinct to protect his child. And, again, maybe because of a program that Vegapunk sneakily input it in his systems or maybe even as natural as animals having to instinctively protect their child
I like to see it as Kuma having his instincts purified into becoming a slave/servant for God after fully letting go of his ego, by then he can only do what's right, like Luffy
As for how Kuma's punch happened, I think it's worth mentioning that personalities aren't entirely erased when the Lineage Factor is in play. S-Snake was just as infatuated with Luffy as her template, Boa Hancock, so it's pretty believable that a man like Kuma could possibly carry ill will against Garcia.
Kuma coming back is foreshadowed at the beginning of the arc itself when Lilith mentions not being able to override primal instinct. Kumas primal instinct is to protect bonney at all cost.
The Kizaru theory is actually pretty good, but what if Boneys ability could affect her environment too and she is the one who created the food for Luffy!
In the last chapter saturn told vegapunk “ I'm a man of science too” Which could be hint that gorosei really are immortal from void century as back then world was really advanced 😶🌫️

Kuma attempting to punch saturn and saturn looking the way he does. Makes me think we are getting more and more hints of what the original joyboy looked like. From the way kuma comes to the rescue and the fact he has buccaneer blood. To bonnie and her power with her imagination. To luffy's gear fifth form. The way its all coming together is giving saturn flashbacks of the original joyboy. And all the moments they thought it was it for them when joyboy struck back with a passion.
A fourth option for the food provider occurred to me. What about the black beard pirates? Lafitte has snuck into Mary Geoise before without being noticed, plus it would be to their advantage. Why get involved in the fight when they could encourage all their enemies to fight each other and swoop in when everyone is exhausted.
I think one of the best things to come out of Egghead would be Saturn having everyone turn on him. Kizaru, Bonney, Kuma, Seraphim, Vegapunks -- everyone turns on Saturn. And it's not enough to defeat him. It would be a great way to show the strength of the WG that they've been hiding from the world. We already see that he has weird regeneration powers that we've never seen in other characters.
Kizaru for sure slid Luffy the food. Kizaru is a mission specialist. He realized he wasn't targeted by Saturns power. So he could stealthily use light clones or just teleporting out while Saturn was distracted and teleport back. Giving Luffy the edge. Kizaru made a new objective. Support the straw hats without Saturn noticing.

After the king reveals the truth that they are all only waiting for luffy to liberate them from their 10 year oppression everyone goes to help each other and regains hope. I think Xebec could be the user of the Toshi-Toshi no mi because of the flaming skull on the flag being the use of both Ace's fruit and a bone fruit thanks to the distorted future attack and he used this fruit to keep his crew in line thanks to the near-death experience attack or showing them their best and worst timelines.
That would be super intense of a twist. Rock's crew did not respect him, and remained members due to something unexplained. Could be that the crew individually "resigned to their fates" after being shown their potential futures.

Looks like he started in Chapter 1067. So Bonney hadn't interacted with his memory bubble yet. From rereading the chapter it looks like maybe Kuma responded to or was aware of the Seraphim being ordered to take on the Navy. Interestingly enough the Kuma seraphim was standing right behind Rob Lucci when he mentioned Bonney being on egghead and making her "disappear for good". Maybe Kuma shares awareness with the Seraphim somehow?

The last page of the chapter has 2 beautiful panels. 1st is kuma protecting bonny from saturn, its similar to Ace protecting luffy from Akainu. 2nd is kuma preparing to punch saturn, its similar to luffy punching a celestial dragon. This shows kuma was really impressed by luffy's actions at sabaody
I think Dr. Kurhea & Blackbeard could be earlier examples of experiments by Saturn with Kurhea's long lifespan & Blackbeard being able to have multiple powers coming from these experimentations

MY gut feeling now is that the reason Kuma went to save Bonney was because she touched his memory bubble. Perhaps after touching it, the memories goes back to him or is a trigger for an override.
I think the Saphire necklace also has something to do with Kumas behavior. In the translation I read Vegapunk said, that the necklace will always protect her.

I think you might be on to something. The necklace might have some special properties. But if it acts like one of those command chips, I don’t know. Kuma was very far away and I don’t recall her saying something that sounded like please attack Saturn. Can’t wait for the next chapter 🙌🏼!

Maybe VP created that split personality and programmed each to be Kuma so he only erased one and left it on there. Then the moment Bonney touched the necklace it activated the other personality, which is also Kuma. Then he bolted from his battle with Akainu and raced to Egghead and suddenly has haki which someone with no willpower should not have. Vegapunk did say the necklace is for protection or something like that.
I think Bonney's saphire necklace is definitely related to Kuma's appearance, maybe it works like a vivre card of some kind and kuma felt her life vanishing from it. Dragon mentioned the "instinct fragment" or something along those lines right after the necklace was shown, as well as Vegapunk calling it "a protection charm" I think Bonney having that somehow awoke Kuma's fatherly instinct, but didn't make him alive per se
He already passed Red Line when Vegapunk gave her the necklace. So what could´ve triggered him ? It's clearly not the necklace since she only got it a while ago. Kuma left Kamabaka Island exactly after Lucci said they would kill Bonney on sight. That timing is too good to be a coincidence
2:30 You can see the right side of Kuma's face is charred and bleeding, his right eye exposed after the lens got blown off, his face is certainly not fixed, but the damage is visually lesser than the one Whitebeard suffered probably because of his modifications made him more durable than old Whitebeard.
my understanding the of the dialogue of the scans is that Bonney was experimented as a baby and the sapphire scale was inherited but the devil fruit was after she was born. Also, that it’s not an artificial devil fruit but the actual thing. Like he was experimenting with trying to see if he could get people to eat the same devil fruit (hence why since Bonney has the ability, the fruit was deemed useless now). Like how masked deuce didn’t get the fire powers as he bit into it second
A lot happened here, but it strikes me that there are 3 important things: (1) Ginny was apparently Saturn's 8th wife, which does call into question his longevity, (2) SOMEONE gave Luffy food, and (3) Kizaru expressed some concern (a few panels after Luffy asked for meat and a few panels before Luffy got given meat...). Make no mistake, I think Kuma's going to (successfully) Android 16 our elder star here, but before then I wonder if we're going to have 3 powerhouses against Saturn... if only to scale the threat.
Kuma's most likely gonna die soon, which i feel like people will come after Oda for killing him because, well, its kind of obvious. But if Kuma lives, (which is a big if) then maybe the final war might be less sad than Oda says it is.

In the arc's where Luffy is the one to beat the main bad guy in the end. He didn't defeat Big Mom. The newspaper just gave him the victory but he couldn't beat her in combat. On the topic of how Kuma is defying the government right now is due to his devil fruit. If he has no memories, he basically has no will to fight but as we've been told before. Devil Fruits have a will of their own especially zoan types. Kuma's devil fruit is always referenced towards cats so this could be another renamed fruit that the government didn't anyone to know the real name of which could be another one of the god devil fruits. We already have Luffy as the Sun God, so what if Kuma is the forest god? His devil fruit is highly used to recreate other devil fruits which seems to involve the soul and from the skypia arc they believed that the souls of the dead inhabited sacred trees. In fact, paper is used to make vivre cards to lead you to that person. A piece of you that is trying to get back to your body, which is exactly how Kuma's fruit works. If nothing is done with the bubble that is pushed out of you, it will return to its original host.
Sadly, I do think we will see the end of Kuma here but his will can be carried on through Bonney joining the SH being that she wants to save all slaves in the world so no one will have to have to suffer what her dad did.
I think Dragon believes in freedom, I don't see him raising luff to be a revolutionary without him wishing it himself, which would have happened only if there was a strong motivation for luff to do so.
Forgetting that Saturn and Akainu, hell the WG as a whole fear Kuma, which is why Saturn went through hoops to ensure that Kuma would not have the option of turning his wrath upon them. Akainu said his blood ran cold when he heard Bonney had escaped, Vegapunk berated Saturn, asking him if he feared Kuma that much. We have yet to see Kuma strike anyone, let alone in anger, we have not seen him lay his hands on anybody even once. If he has engaged somebody, it has been through his paw paw fruit or his lasers. Considering he endured two years of torment and still had the energy to beeline across the world, climb the red line, ignore Akainu's lethal blows (without having his body burn off), ignore the firepower of all the marines on egghead and an attack from Saturn, if his durability scales to his strength there might be a good reason why Saturn feared giving Kuma the chance to strike back at them. I want Kuma to administer a unilateral smackdown on Saturn, Luffy can well deliver the final blow, but Kuma deserves to unleash his anger here, or rather, I would not feel satisfied unless he does.
Its his fatherly urge to protect his daughter. Remember the start of egg head arc vegapunk said they can't control the urges of living creatures. Kuma running on pure instinct.

A theory I have which I know is probably stretching is the fact Saturn called Ginny the 8th holy lady and it deals with Imu. Now it’s been rumored that Imu is immortal due to the op op no mi but if the surgery allows them to jump their soul or mind into another body like how Law did to the Strawhats and Smoker and Tashigi at Punk Hazard but on their own at that Imu has been jumping bodies for the last 800 years with Ginny supposedly to be the 8th body or as Saturn said the 8th holy lady and the experiment was to give the body longer chance to be active similar to Orchimaru’s reincarnation technique or Dante from the first Full metal alchemist anime

I have a theory that Saturn will get hit with all of Kuma's pain, which will be a massive bubble. Somehow Luffy will get caught in the crossfire and learn about Kuma's past. Saturn will survive but Luffy will finish him off.
Since Dr Vega Punk was studying and adapting tech from the void century what if the ancient robot sensing nika sent out an SOS signal. Kuma being the original Pacifista probably has actual ancient parts received the signal, went to continue its last active mission, got a status update signal and changed directions because one of it targets is in a different location . All while his subconscious is slowly waking up. like his soul remembers and is fighting the programming even though his memories are gone

I think the gorosei try to capture high potential people like Ginny to make them noble by alliance, and form them childs as warrior (like the Figarland) or science experience (Bonney).
If I were Kuma and still had a bit of my old self somewhere deep inside, I would definitely extract all the damage my body received along this way to save Bonney, and give it back to Saturn before he could even react, so he could savour all until the last bit of it. Boy, would that be satisfying...
Saturn didn’t say he gave the devil fruit extract to Ginny. He said “we conducted experiments to whether extract infusions could grant a BABY an ability without feeding them the fruit normally” which to me implies the infusions were done directly to Bonney (not Ginny).
Another arc where Luffy did not fight the big bad of the arc is Sabaody. I think Kuma saving Bonney is closer to Rayleigh saving Zoro. I'm more in the party of your 2nd option. I think this time Luffy will ask Kuma to save everyone and he'll hold off Saturn. Then Kuma will turn around and also send Luffy away. Only issue I see with this is how does Kuma know where Elbaf is? Or perhaps they get sent somewhere else? Another problem is Vivi. Isn't Morgans on his way to egghead? One other weird Bonney question is why doesn't Saturn kill her? Seems weird he can only hold her and tell the marines to shoot her, right?

I would like to point out that Borsalino / Kizaru could also become active against Saturn once he regains his strength and is able to move again (especially after it came out in the last chapters that he also obeys more under duress than voluntarily), judging by the picture of him lying on the ground, having just learned that Sentomaru and Bonney have been captured.
He seems very sad about this information.

Kizaru's motto is unclear justice, so providing the food to Luffy to make him able to fight again, may be all he's willing to do, since Luffy was out of stamina because of him in the first place. What happens after that is left to fate.

Saturn talks about that Bonney did not connect the dots to Luffy yet. Maybe believing in Luffy. In a free world/future/Nika is the reason Kuma can move and Bonney only partially. Like she can move but is still weak bc she is unsure about Nika. But Kuma knows/believes Nika is luffy and so he is free of everything.
The weird thing wasn’t that he got the food. It was the fact that Saturn knew to prevent him from getting it.

Probably not artificial or haki related at all outside resistance to it, the freezing people and killing them with just a look is kinda the main schtick of the demon his devil fruit is based on.

I think Kuma's action is due to his instinct. Hinted by Dragon of him saying about an "Instinct Fragment". It may or may not be a part of his programming but I believe it's due to him being the father and having the natural instinct to protect his child. And, again, maybe because of a program that Vegapunk sneakily input it in his systems or maybe even as natural as animals having to instinctively protect their child
I like to see it as Kuma having his instincts purified into becoming a slave/servant for God after fully letting go of his ego, by then he can only do what's right, like Luffy
As for how Kuma's punch happened, I think it's worth mentioning that personalities aren't entirely erased when the Lineage Factor is in play. S-Snake was just as infatuated with Luffy as her template, Boa Hancock, so it's pretty believable that a man like Kuma could possibly carry ill will against Garcia.
Kuma coming back is foreshadowed at the beginning of the arc itself when Lilith mentions not being able to override primal instinct. Kumas primal instinct is to protect bonney at all cost.
I think the necklace Bonney got as a Birthday present could have something to do with Kuma showing up

Kuma attempting to punch saturn and saturn looking the way he does. Makes me think we are getting more and more hints of what the original joyboy looked like. From the way kuma comes to the rescue and the fact he has buccaneer blood. To bonnie and her power with her imagination. To luffy's gear fifth form. The way its all coming together is giving saturn flashbacks of the original joyboy. And all the moments they thought it was it for them when joyboy struck back with a passion.

A fourth option for the food provider occurred to me. What about the black beard pirates? Lafitte has snuck into Mary Geoise before without being noticed, plus it would be to their advantage. Why get involved in the fight when they could encourage all their enemies to fight each other and swoop in when everyone is exhausted.
I think one of the best things to come out of Egghead would be Saturn having everyone turn on him.
Kizaru, Bonney, Kuma, Seraphim, Vegapunks -- everyone turns on Saturn. And it's not enough to defeat him.
It would be a great way to show the strength of the WG that they've been hiding from the world.

I think Xebec could be the user of the Toshi-Toshi no mi because of the flaming skull on the flag being the use of both Ace's fruit and a bone fruit thanks to the distorted future attack and he used this fruit to keep his crew in line thanks to the near-death experience attack or showing them their best and worst timelines.
That would be super intense of a twist. Rock's crew did not respect him, and remained members due to something unexplained. Could be that the crew individually "resigned to their fates" after being shown their potential futures.

Looks like he started in Chapter 1067. So Bonney hadn't interacted with his memory bubble yet. From rereading the chapter it looks like maybe Kuma responded to or was aware of the Seraphim being ordered to take on the Navy. Interestingly enough the Kuma seraphim was standing right behind Rob Lucci when he mentioned Bonney being on egghead and making her "disappear for good". Maybe Kuma shares awareness with the Seraphim somehow?

I think Bonney's saphire necklace is definitely related to Kuma's appearance, maybe it works like a vivre card of some kind and kuma felt her life vanishing from it. my understanding the of the dialogue of the scans is that Bonney was experimented as a baby and the sapphire scale was inherited but the devil fruit was after she was born. Also, that it’s not an artificial devil fruit but the actual thing. Like he was experimenting with trying to see if he could get people to eat the same devil fruit (hence why since Bonney has the ability, the fruit was deemed useless now). A lot happened here, but it strikes me that there are 3 important things: (1) Ginny was apparently Saturn's 8th wife, which does call into question his longevity, (2) SOMEONE gave Luffy food, and (3) Kizaru expressed some concern (a few panels after Luffy asked for meat and a few panels before Luffy got given meat...). Make no mistake, I think Kuma's going to (successfully) Android 16 our elder star here, but before then I wonder if we're going to have 3 powerhouses against Saturn... if only to scale the threat.

Kuma's most likely gonna die soon, which i feel like people will come after Oda for killing him because, well, its kind of obvious. But if Kuma lives, (which is a big if) then maybe the final war might be less sad than Oda says it is.

In the arc's where Luffy is the one to beat the main bad guy in the end. He didn't defeat Big Mom. The newspaper just gave him the victory but he couldn't beat her in combat.
On the topic of how Kuma is defying the government right now is due to his devil fruit. If he has no memories, he basically has no will to fight but as we've been told before. Devil Fruits have a will of their own especially zoan types. Kuma's devil fruit is always referenced towards cats so this could be another renamed fruit that the government didn't anyone to know the real name of which could be another one of the god devil fruits. We already have Luffy as the Sun God, so what if Kuma is the forest god? His devil fruit is highly used to recreate other devil fruits which seems to involve the soul and from the skypia arc they believed that the souls of the dead inhabited sacred trees. In fact, paper is used to make vivre cards to lead you to that person. A piece of you that is trying to get back to your body, which is exactly how Kuma's fruit works. If nothing is done with the bubble that is pushed out of you, it will return to its original host.
Sadly, I do think we will see the end of Kuma here but his will can be carried on through Bonney joining the SH being that she wants to save all slaves in the world so no one will have to have to suffer what her dad did.

I think Dragon believes in freedom, I don't see him raising luff to be a revolutionary without him wishing it himself, which would have happened only if there was a strong motivation for luff to do so.
Forgetting that Saturn and Akainu, hell the WG as a whole fear Kuma, which is why Saturn went through hoops to ensure that Kuma would not have the option of turning his wrath upon them. Akainu said his blood ran cold when he heard Bonney had escaped, Vegapunk berated Saturn, asking him if he feared Kuma that much.
We have yet to see Kuma strike anyone, let alone in anger, we have not seen him lay his hands on anybody even once. If he has engaged somebody, it has been through his paw paw fruit or his lasers. Considering he endured two years of torment and still had the energy to beeline across the world, climb the red line, ignore Akainu's lethal blows (without having his body burn off), ignore the firepower of all the marines on egghead and an attack from Saturn, if his durability scales to his strength there might be a good reason why Saturn feared giving Kuma the chance to strike back at them.
I want Kuma to administer a unilateral smackdown on Saturn, Luffy can well deliver the final blow, but Kuma deserves to unleash his anger here, or rather, I would not feel satisfied unless he does.

A theory I have which I know is probably stretching is the fact Saturn called Ginny the 8th holy lady and it deals with Imu. Now it’s been rumored that Imu is immortal due to the op op no mi but if the surgery allows them to jump their soul or mind into another body like how Law did to the Strawhats and Smoker and Tashigi at Punk Hazard but on their own at that Imu has been jumping bodies for the last 800 years with Ginny supposedly to be the 8th body or as Saturn said the 8th holy lady and the experiment was to give the body longer chance to be active similar to Orchimaru’s reincarnation technique or Dante from the first Full metal alchemist anime

I think the gorosei try to capture high potential people like Ginny to make them noble by alliance, and form them childs as warrior (like the Figarland) or science experience (Bonney).

Saturn didn’t say he gave the devil fruit extract to Ginny. He said “we conducted experiments to whether extract infusions could grant a BABY an ability without feeding them the fruit normally” which to me implies the infusions were done directly to Bonney (not Ginny).
Another arc where Luffy did not fight the big bad of the arc is Sabaody. I think Kuma saving Bonney is closer to Rayleigh saving Zoro. I'm more in the party of your 2nd option. I think this time Luffy will ask Kuma to save everyone and he'll hold off Saturn. Then Kuma will turn around and also send Luffy away. Only issue I see with this is how does Kuma know where Elbaf is? Or perhaps they get sent somewhere else? Another problem is Vivi. Isn't Morgans on his way to egghead?
One other weird Bonney question is why doesn't Saturn kill her? Seems weird he can only hold her and tell the marines to shoot her, right?

question:- Who knows when this kuma/boney flashback will finally come to an end? I am referring to the fact that we have had very few flashbacks on the Straw Hat members, particularly zolo. lol
