Guys trying to say in a nice way, that he thinks you have to have a mainstream image or you limit your appeal & he thinks he's hiding behind the drag. Not sure I agree. George is a living example that being different doesnt limit you.

Guy was trying to say he turned for his voice, not because of what he was wearing or what he chose to identify as. because at the end of the day when it comes to being a music artist; the music is whats going to matter. George made good music people loved. If George's music was trash; all the other things wouldnt have mattered for his career as an artist.
Exactly. When George was big in the 80s I was a teenager, had no idea what drag was and to be honest: until recently I did not even know that George sees himself as drag. I loved the music and did not care about the appearance.

He should have chosen George because he is the one to show you how to get to where you want to be on your own terms. JMO
I love all the judges, all. They are all kings, queens, etc, but BG gawd, what did he just do. Wow. Boy George has been doing his own thing since I was young. Thank you for being your amazing self and selves everyone, peace and much love sent from Ontario, Canada.

I’ve seen Guy do this to artists before. I was stunned when he chose Guy as his coach. Big mistake. I guess though, that decision shows Jimi isn’t ready even if loaded with all the talent he needs.

True! LOL I was a farm girl, and it was men who taught me to apply makeup, wear heels, walk....everything I know about "being a woman" was taught to me by men who were very good at it! I would have never become the woman I am without the MEN who taught me!

I honestly don't know why these performers pick Guy. He promises the moon and then let's them go at the first hurdle. I've watched him do it so many times that I found myself talking to the screen when Jimi was considering who to pick.... 'Don't pick Guy, he'll drop you like a hot potato!'

I thought josh performed better in the battle. His high notes were exciting. Jimi was great too, but i thought it was the right call. I hope Jimi keeps plugging away. Definitely a career in the making 😊

Yeah I feel he actually understood and identified with what Guy said. Drag can be a "safe zone" for some people and sometimes you have to get out of your safe zone to learn how to connect more. Their duet was AMAZING and props to Josh for being such an open minded sweetie. There are a lot of guys out there who would be uncomfortable and it would show.

You know if they would promote more on what they can do to enhance his performance by their own rather than fighting against each other it would make each individual performer have a clearer judgment who they want to represent them for their authentic self whatever that may be.

Just from what Jimi said in the beginning I think Guy was right. I mean Jimi basically said that putting on drag made him feel safer on stage. But to bare your soul you kinda have to be more bare! Putting on drag means you are more playing a part than being yourself in my opinion. Yes that can be a part of your identity but it can also be a barrier between you and your audience.
Actually, the most important part of what he said is that dressing in drag makes him look like what he feels inside! THAT is why people are drag queens and whatnot. It’s not because they’re insecure. That’s so silly. 😐😂

I think people who go in drag are their way of being free , it's their way of escaping.

Guy needs to understand it's what he needs not what he wants. Glad George said something. Guy is uncomfortable with him being in drag wants him to strip all of it off to make him comfortable that is the wrong way to handle it.

I have to say that it pisses me off that he fought so hard to get Jimi on his team, and then he purposely put him in the position to have a disadvantage in the battles, although in my personal opinion, Jimi's tone is MUCH better than Josh's. I was sad at the outcome.
Yeah she should have went with George. I feel like what guy was saying during the initial coach picking wasn’t right for this artist. George would have also given her a way better song to sing. I feel like coaches should know when an artist just isn’t for them regardless of what they give in an initial performance.
Why did she pick Guy then? Because she felt his words. Just winning is not everything in the world. And i don't get how people dare questioning other peoples life decissions.
It was cringeworthy listening to Guy talk about Jimmy finding her real self , inferring that drag is just a misdirected person ...awful, but then Jimmy made a mistake too,as that was a serious red flag.

I agree with Guy, he doesn't need the drag to be noticed. However, if he feels better that way and feels he can unleash himself with the drag, then that's what's best for him. While George gets it, I do think it's more important in a VOICE competition to be focused on the VOICE and not the extra stuff. Though I do like that Jimmy is fine in being in drag for performance, but doesn't need to live that life 24/7, though it is more as if he feels he NEEDS to be in drag to perform, which is why I'm glad Guy made him deconstruct even in rehearsal to see that he can be creative without being in drag. He seems fine with being a man who likes to use drag for his performative arts, but not every day in his career. Basically, he doesn't follow the agenda of you HAVE to be trans. Nowadays it seems it's trans way or no way, they are trying to erase the rest of the LGB community. He does drag because HE enjoys the freedom of it in his performances not because of an agenda or a political statement that needs to be forced on others.

I dunno what to say, He did choose the wrong coach. Being in DRAG doesn't mean that you're not yourself, it makes you more of YOU. I don't understand what went through his mind. The right choice in my opinion would be George or Kelly.

Good choice in Guy and the openness to see others were not genuine to his success and more of a movement/agenda.
