Warm up, stretch and then stick to "elevated" cardio exercises, a moderate basic barbell, dumbell and machine resistance training program and most of all, adjust it accordingly, as you age. Don't forget a reasonable eating regiment.

A lot of things are wrong here. One is that every exercise is potentially dangerous if you don’t know how to do it. There’s tons of ways to challenge your lower body’s stability without doing that particular exercise, which is overrated in my opinion. Second, you don’t do movements like that when you’re 55 years old. Just not worth it. Third, when you select an exercise you need to think about the yield and the risk it involves. I don’t think the video mentioned if she had a trainer, but she needs to get a smart one. I hope she recovers quickly.

All these equipment for fitness... no its only money making... nothing is wrong with OLD... fashioned ways of getting in and staying in shape... Do hope you heal well... and soon... you still beautiful...
If falling of a balance board in the gym does this too you, you must be doing a lot wrong. People fall off balance boards all the time without destroying themselves. Actors are made of glass physically and mentally
I had no idea this happened until just now! At first I was like "so what?! People break bones all the time..." And then when they said it was her femur, it brought me back to when I was in high school and my best friend Mike who was a Motocross racer broke his femur during a race and how long it took for him just to be able to get out of the wheelchair and then months and months of PT and Recovery and even a year later he was still barely able to walk normally... The only thing that kept him going was knowing that how the accident happened he was actually a hero. Because the rider in front of him who had gone over a huge jump had crashed when he landed and if Mike hadn't dumped his bike, the bike and he would have landed on the kids head and chest and basically killed him so he dumped his bike and when he landed next to the kid he snapped his femur....
Of the two, the sepsis was far more life threatening. (The longer you stay in a hospital... An alcohol prep isn't enough and then the dirty glove feeling the skin to find the point of injection.) And still may have long-term complications. When bacteria travels through the blood stream and passes through the heart it can change the integrity of the valve leaflets in the heart causing a prolapse in the future and necessitating a valve replacement, which can be very dangerous itself. Think Bill Paxton, his was an aortic valve replacement. Any valve, including the mitral valve can become involved. I hope her doctors will monitor this closely going forward but it is doubtful they will be aware until it becomes a problem requiring treatment. Echocardiogram is a good way to monitor the patency of the valves noninvasively. The go-to fav is cardiac catheterization, very invasive with risks of another infection, etc., but insurance will usually pay for it. Such a ka-ching.
Those of you who have made a practice of drinking lots of soft drinks should know they cause porous bones, particularly in women. Phosphoric acid and carbonic acid are the culprits. I know an ex mother in law who is 65 and still horseback riding. She fell 2x and last time it was her scapula that she broke. Be realistic and do not attempt to do activities that are high risk for fractures it's inevitable.
That’s not a freak accident. That’s a perfectly regular accident for a 55 year old woman on a fucking balance board.
You have to accept as you get older, you're no longer the same as your younger days. Tone down on your activities. I do.
Why is this story annoying? You are not a shero, get over yourself. You broke your leg like millions of us.
Oh wow that's horrible! I had no idea. She's in a rando movie I was passing. Oh wow this is terrible. I feel so bad
Why would you be on a balance board to start out with??? Dumb thing to do.
Brooke shields was a supermodel?
Yes, from the age of 8 months old.
Shield was a kid model 7-8 years old and her mom was very demanding force her into acting at 10-12 years old. Was married to Andre Agassi for 14 months.
@@Agent77X Completely totally forgot Andre! She was on Ivory Snow detergent boxes as a baby...it some brand .
Brooke, you are strong and the most beautiful woman ever existed on planet earth. The hospital should use the photo of you on the wheelchair, you look amazing; because you are. Strong Brooke Shields!
🤕 Grandma needs to stop acting like Peter Pan
She took a knee in protest!
??? That’s not funny at all about this situation.
Lol tj is the coolest ..the end lol
All these equipment for fitness... no its only money making... nothing is wrong with OLD... fashioned ways of getting in and staying in shape... Do hope you heal well... and soon... you still beautiful...
Kudos to her! I can't walk and chew gum at the same time!🤣
Looks like Katlin Genner
If falling of a balance board in the gym does this too you, you must be doing a lot wrong. People fall off balance boards all the time without destroying themselves. Actors are made of glass physically and mentally
You clearly don't know what actually happened and no, she didn't just fall off and land on her side.
nobody should ever use those balance boards so much more dangerous than anything else
Brooke should have gotten treatment from her favorite doctor, Dr. Drake Ramoray.
Why using such a high role under board? There are less dangerous way to do balancing exercises.
Nevertheless I wish Brook speedy recovery.
Right Femer...Ouch! Is there a problem with her bone density? So unusual. Get better!
Learn your age limits, what is the point of doing circus balance acts?
Some older people try to defy age by doing risky things.
Wow!
Osteoporosis is real get well soon Brooke
An untreated strep throat is a prime cause of valvular disease. A little sore throat that eventually goes away.
Yeah it's more impressive when it happens to someone who doesn't have millions or a mansion to recover in🙄🙄
Those of you who have made a practice of drinking lots of soft drinks should know they cause porous bones, particularly in women. Phosphoric acid and carbonic acid are the culprits. Lifting weights helps offset this by the compression of bone tissue, stimulating denser calcification. Vitamin K helps, according to holistic practitioners. You'll make it back, Brooke. We love you!
Get better Brooke Shields!
Geez.
The result of a lifetime of Hormone replacement therapy
Speedy Recovery!!!
Jeez!
