You are soooo like my bff!! I would have a field day making stuff with you if youre commentary is like this! Lol you rock!! Awesome explanation to everything!!
I really love your signs. Also thank you very much for your informative videos. I am also a crafter and I use lots of vinyl. It comes out beautiful and I have never had a problem. I think each person has their own technique of what works for them. However it does not diminish the value and definitely not the quality or looks of a project that is done with vinyl
You are definitely very right Cynthia! There are so many wood signs made with vinyl, I just have never done it. I mean I have with smaller signs and I should definitely broaden my horizon and try it on a larger scale and play around with putting clears over it. Do you put clear over your vinyl?
I absolutely love your work you do a beautiful job! Obviously you must be using a cricket or something but what material are you using to make your stencils with?
Well darn! You just made my morning! Thank you so much! I am happy that my video was able to inspire you! If you do make it and have IG make sure to tag me!!
Hello...this is the first time watching your video and it will not be my last...I loved it!. You give so much information and you make me laugh. I will definitely going to try making one of these. Thank you.
Well thank you for deciding to click on my video and stick around to watch! I am so happy you loved it and if you make one make sure to tag me! I would love to see it ❤️
Hello Colleen!! I have all the transfer tapes in my amazon store link. I actually prefer the vinyl ease now!! Just the right amount of adhesive without taking paint with it.
I just discovered you today! I thought I saw a KC Chief shirt on you on one video! I’m in Kansas too (Army Brat/Wife)! I love your signs! I am going to attempt to make my own this week!
Hey girlie!!! Yes! I’m in Kansas! Nice to see I have a neighbor ❤️ definitely attempt one! You can even start with a smaller round versus the huge one for your first attempt.
Hi Sammie, I just absolutely love watching your videos and you working so hard but enjoying it! I do have a question for you on this video as I have looked for these in several places including Hobby lobby and online I cannot find the stencil tool set show off dabber sets? Apparently hobby lobby does not sell it I have been to the store and I have looked online is it called something else maybe? I would love to get a set of these I would think they were some kind of ink or paint dabber‘s or something? Please let me know what you think or what I can do. Omg! I love love your sign! I just recently started making wood signs myself and I was wondering, how do you package your 17.5 wood round? like what type of box do you use? What do you use as box fillers? And if possible could you share where you get them from? I have a method in mind to use pool noodles, bubble wrap, and a 20x20x4 box, but i want to look more professional. Do you have any advice for me? If you could help it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
Hello 👋 sooooo I don’t ship my wood rounds out much. Especially with the shipping rates right now 😬 they are crazy! But I’ve used this foam sheet stuff at Walmart - I can show you tonight if you’re on the LIVE (8pm cst) and then wrap in shipping paper. I’ve also heard people using pizza boxes which is pretty genius!
Hello, I love watching your tutorial so much, learn a lot from you. Can I use minwax polycrylic water base for my round wood for outdoors? Thank you so much.
Hello Rowena! Thank you! So you can use it. It’s what I started out using but it is for indoor use. Helmsman spar urethane will hold up against the elements of weather of the sign is outside and not protected by a storm door
That really turned out so beautiful... good job 👍 I love those rounds they look gorgeous hung up... and I do use one of the silicone hot pads from dt for my glue gun and it works great!😊🌻🌻
Have you tried applying matte Mod Podge before you apply paint to the stencil (for extra security that it won't bleed)? My husband uses a similar technique when painting stuff around the house, and I was curious if it might work in this situation!
Hello 👋 I have tried it and it’s never worked for me. It has a tendency to bring up the paint with it when you take the stencil up. But Crafted my Corie does that technique all the time when she does smaller vinyl DIY’s and doesn’t seem to have issues.
Hello Joe. I am have been using my Cameo 4 and have recently got the Cricut. I do suggest the Cameo if you're planning on doing more than the wood rounds.
I have watched a couple of your videos to learn how to make the round signs. You do such a great job & take you time. Your signs are beautiful! So if I'm understanding correctly, it will take at least 2 days to complete the sign if chalk paint is used along with the stain? Thanks for a great tutorial. I'm sure I will be checking out more....need to learn to make a bow!
Thank you so much! I would give yourself 3 days if you were trying to work on the time management. Because the third day you will apply your clear and do all the flowers or bows
@@UnicornDustDesigns Just wanting to make sure everything is spaced out correctly. No time mgmt schedule as of now. Just starting & will be doing for family then maybe try to sell. Thank you for replying!
Do you have to use black chalk paint underneath the white chalk paint if you want it to be black with white on top or can you use acrylic paint or a different kind of paint?
Hi Jamie, Just wanted to say hello. I just discovered your channel and I love all the tutorials! I would love to see a video on how you make felt flowers... Also , do you have any tips on how you organize all your supplies? Can’t wait to see your next DIY. 😍 Jen
Hi Jennifer😻 thank you so much for watching! I’m actually do a LIVE Q&A Wednesday at 8pm cst so make sure to join in and I can try answering this question so everyone can hear 😊 i can definitely do a video on felt flowers. Actually wanted to make a fall wood round with some so that would be perfect.
Hi Jenni! I think it’s just preference for me. I like how thick and easy chalk paint is to work with. I’ve used acrylic in the past but if you let it dry down too long it peels up with the vinyl. Or at least that’s been my experience. I should probably give it another try because they do come in more color options! Thank you so much for watching ❤️
Your videos are just great. Sorry if someone already asked, but what size is the font are and what cutting machine are you using with the stencil vinyl or did you use contact paper?. I just purchased a Cricut, not that familiar with design space yet, and I'm not sure if the fonts can go beyond a certain size. Thanks
Hello Shirley! I actually use the Cameo 4 to cut my vinyl so I’m unsure of the Cricut info. If you go to this video I do put the size in description 😊 and thank you for the compliment and for watching. Hey, Sammie! Thank you for showing the line on your wood rounds; I was actually wondering about them when I watched your other video. 😜 I LOVE the polka dots!! SO CUTE!! I also love how you clearly explain & show things...truly helpful for others who want to make wood signs like this!! 💗 (Oh, "consistency" is the word you wanted for your water-based clear coat, right? 😃) I'm so glad that you do all you can to protect your pieces!! They are so BEAUTIFUL; it would be a shame for one LITTLE THING to ruin all that work!!!! Have you tried using a glass coaster or a dish for your glue gun? I've never seen a silicon mat at DT, but YOUR store is so nice! [If you can't find one, maybe you could buy something small, like a flat pot holder or a spatula. (?)] Oh, YES! A brand would be AWESOME! Since you do these as a business, be sure to get some quality tools for yourself, girl...a glue gun that is made to last, Gorilla glue sticks, sanding tools & paper, etc! I LOVE handwritten notes--used to correspond with my MIL; I miss her so much! 💗 You may want to get to know a realtor in town who may want to give your signs or handwritten coupons (pre-paid $) FROM YOU for one of your designs, so they can have it personalized. Just a thought...
Hi Michele! Thank you so much for watching! Yes, CONSISTENCY! That was the word I was looking for you. Thank you haha. I find that the hot glue sticks to everything that's why I want to try the silicone mat. I'm gonna look at DT and if they don't have one I'm sure I can find one on Amazon. i actually use gorilla glue sticks for my glue gun. Love them and you can get them cheap with coupons!
@@UnicornDustDesigns I currently CANNOT put my hands on my glue gun, but I know I have one!! This is very frustrating for me, who wants to start making some of the things I've seen people doing in these videos for the past 8-9 months!!! You said some thing a while ago about using that super long glue stick, but never told the story. I'm SURE the IDEA of making it was good, but I'm still curious! What happened?
@@UnicornDustDesigns thank you so much! And one last question, I just bought the vinyl stencil you use. Which setting do you put your cricut on when cutting?
Super cute! Love this one! Do you use platforms like Etsy or Facebook marketplace to sell your signs? If not what’s worked best for you to get your signs out there? Thanks😊
Hi Elizabeth! Thank you so very much! I appreciate you watching it. I only use my business page to sell my items. I don’t have any items pre made to sell on Facebook marketplace and I haven’t opened an Etsy shop but I really want to one day.

@@UnicornDustDesigns Wow, thank you for the quick reply!! I'd rather not tempt fate... I'll just try it your way. Thanks again!
You’re so welcome!
Hi there, lovin your videos. One questions: 1. What machine are you using to create your vinyl stencils designs?
Hello Joe. I am have been using my Cameo 4 and have recently got the Cricut. I do suggest the Cameo if you're planning on doing more than the wood rounds.
Girl, you're so talented!! I have been wanting to get into these kinds of crafts and you just make it look so easy!! I love your content!
Awww thank you Amy! Definitely give it a try. Wood rounds are sooo much fun to create
@@UnicornDustDesigns I think I will one day! What kind of cricut machine do you have?
I use the Maker
Love watching you create your boards. What fonts do you use?
Hello Kathy. I put all the fonts down in the description box :)
and thank you very much for watching :)
Nice piece ;)
Thank you Alexis!
I also have a bow tutorial ❤️
@@UnicornDustDesigns Just wanting to make sure everything is spaced out correctly. No time mgmt schedule as of now. Just starting & will be doing for family then maybe try to sell. Thank you for replying!
Do you have to use black chalk paint underneath the white chalk paint if you want it to be black with white on top or can you use acrylic paint or a different kind of paint?
Hello 👋 to be honest I have never used any other paint on my wood rounds so I would be able to confidently answer that for you.
Hi! Just wondering where you get your blank wood signs? Love your videos!
Hello Caity! I get all of my wood rounds at Home Depot :)
Hi Jamie,
Just wanted to say hello.
Looks fantastic. Thank you for such a thorough tutorial. Second video of yours I’ve watched!! Wondering why chalk paint was used versus acrylic paint?
Cute dog!!!
Why thank you! Hank thinks he’s a lap dog 🐶
Love this . Where did you get your paint roller and what size is it ?
I’m sorry 😐 I don’t know. Next time I go to my hardware store I’ll make sure to get that info because a lot of people ask

Hi Jamie! I love your videos, they have helped me so much! Do you let the black chalk paint dry completely before peeling the tape up?
Thank you so much. Yes I do Allow the paint dry completely before peeling the paint off 😊
@@UnicornDustDesigns thank you so much! And one last question, I just bought the vinyl stencil you use. Which setting do you put your cricut on when cutting?
@@sarahhanley8915 if you search all materials there’s actually a stencil choice. Cuts perfectly every time
Hi, great video! Can you please share a link for the stencil vinyl? 😊 thanks!
Thank you so much girlie! It’s posted in description. Thanks for reminding me
Love these! What are you using on the door to hang from? The video didnt go high enough to see?
😬 we have a screw nailed to our door 🚪 thank you so much for watching Renae!
That turned out beautifully!!! Could you turn up the volume I cant hear too well!!!
Ugh!! It’s my darn phone! I try to take the case off when I’m doing my voice over but my phone is just horrible with sound for some reason 😩
