- Hello all my wood loving peeps! I'm back with a DIY WOOD ROUND - PART 2 !!!!! In this video I will still be walking you through the process but I will also be introducing some tips and tricks along with clarifying questions asked in the first video. Despite what the picture shows, I will also be showing you how I put my flowers in the burlap bows to attach to my signs.

I am thrilled you stay away from the glue. I can’t imagine pieces throughout your home being held together with gobs of glue. Sorry..but that’s not “high end” in my opinion. Also appreciate your explanations to the “whys of products” do what they are capable of. For example the 6000 & hot glue and how they work together. Your short cuts of adding flowers to your bows without being held together with excessive glue. Your
techniques and the whys of doing what you do and the outcome of...such as “bleeding through” if these measures are not taken. I find it necessary to know. You are steps ahead of other DIYers dear.

I really love your signs. Also thank you very much for your informative videos. I am also a crafter and I use lots of vinyl. It comes out beautiful and I have never had a problem. I think each person has their own technique of what works for them. However it does not diminish the value and definitely not the quality or looks of a project that is done with vinyl
You are definitely very right Cynthia! There are so many wood signs made with vinyl, I just have never done it. I mean I have with smaller signs and I should definitely broaden my horizon and try it on a larger scale and play around with putting clears over it. Do you put clear over your vinyl?

Hello Joe. I am have been using my Cameo 4 and have recently got the Cricut. I do suggest the Cameo if you're planning on doing more than the wood rounds.

Hi Jenni! I think it’s just preference for me. I like how thick and easy chalk paint is to work with. I’ve used acrylic in the past but if you let it dry down too long it peels up with the vinyl. Or at least that’s been my experience. I should probably give it another try because they do come in more color options! Thank you so much for watching ❤️

I also love how you clearly explain & show things...truly helpful for others who want to make wood signs like this!! 💗 (Oh, "consistency" is the word you wanted for your water-based clear coat, right? 😃) I'm so glad that you do all you can to protect your pieces!! They are so BEAUTIFUL; it would be a shame for one LITTLE THING to ruin all that work!!!! Have you tried using a glass coaster or a dish for your glue gun? I've never seen a silicon mat at DT, but YOUR store is so nice! [If you can't find one, maybe you could buy something small, like a flat pot holder or a spatula. (?)] Oh, YES! A brand would be AWESOME! Since you do these as a business, be sure to get some quality tools for yourself, girl...a glue gun that is made to last, Gorilla glue sticks, sanding tools & paper, etc! I LOVE handwritten notes--used to correspond with my MIL; I miss her so much! 💗 You may want to get to know a realtor in town who may want to give your signs or handwritten coupons (pre-paid $) FROM YOU for one of your designs, so they can have it personalized. Just a thought...

I find that the hot glue sticks to everything that's why I want to try the silicone mat. I'm gonna look at DT and if they don't have one I'm sure I can find one on Amazon. i actually use gorilla glue sticks for my glue gun. Love them and you can get them cheap with coupons!

This is very frustrating for me, who wants to start making some of the things I've seen people doing in these videos for the past 8-9 months!!! You said some thing a while ago about using that super long glue stick, but never told the story. I'm SURE the IDEA of making it was good, but I'm still curious! What happened?

Omg! I love love your sign! I just recently started making wood signs myself and I was wondering, how do you package your 17.5 wood round? like what type of box do you use? What do you use as box fillers? And if possible could you share where you get them from? I have a method in mind to use pool noodles, bubble wrap, and a 20x20x4 box, but i want to look more professional. Do you have any advice for me? If you could help it will be greatly appreciated. Hello 👋 sooooo I don’t ship my wood rounds out much. Especially with the shipping rates right now 😬 they are crazy! But I’ve used this foam sheet stuff at Walmart - I can show you tonight if you’re on the LIVE (8pm cst) and then wrap in shipping paper. I’ve also heard people using pizza boxes which is pretty genius!

Your videos are just great. Sorry if someone already asked, but what size is the font are and what cutting machine are you using with the stencil vinyl or did you use contact paper?. I just purchased a Cricut, not that familiar with design space yet, and I'm not sure if the fonts can go beyond a certain size. Thanks

I do have a question for you on this video as I have looked for these in several places including Hobby lobby and online I cannot find the stencil tool set show off dabber sets? Apparently hobby lobby does not sell it I have been to the store and I have looked online is it called something else maybe? I have watched a couple of your videos to learn how to make the round signs. You do such a great job & take you time. Your signs are beautiful! So if I'm understanding correctly, it will take at least 2 days to complete the sign if chalk paint is used along with the stain? Thanks for a great tutorial. I'm sure I will be checking out more....need to learn to make a bow!

Other videos Ive watched I’m usually left with lots of questions or confused; so I appreciate you taking the time to explain each step & process! 🖤 I am just starting my own business making & selling home items & tumblers :) towards the end of your video you mentioned that you love when your customers ask for you to make a design you’ve never tried before. So my question for you is, how do you advertise for that? Do you have a website for customers to purchase & someone just asked you to try “sunflowers & polka dots” based on another wood door hanger? - Hope my question makes sense, thank you for your channel :)
Hello Jessica! So all of my orders come through my Facebook business page. I customer will message me saying they want a wood round and give me some ideas and then I will present them with what I think would look good. So when my client wanted this sign. She said she wanted black base, white letters, and sunflowers. I showed her a Pinterest pic of a wood round with stripes and polka dots - she didn't like the stripes but loved the polka dots and we went from there. I hope that helps.
Have you tried applying matte Mod Podge before you apply paint to the stencil (for extra security that it won't bleed)? My husband uses a similar technique when painting stuff around the house, and I was curious if it might work in this situation!
Hello 👋 I have tried it and it’s never worked for me. It has a tendency to bring up the paint with it when you take the stencil up. But Crafted my Corie does that technique all the time when she does smaller vinyl DIY’s and doesn’t seem to have issues.

Hi Cindy! I have the link for the chalk paint I use down in descriptions. You can also usually find it at your local hardware store. I use vinyl on smaller, inexpensive signs, but never on a sign that will be going outside.

Do you have to use black chalk paint underneath the white chalk paint if you want it to be black with white on top or can you use acrylic paint or a different kind of paint?

Hey Sammie, I just made my first sign using the 813 (was using Oracle 631, but it was pulling up paint even after letting it dry for 48 hrs 😭). I liked the 813 (the bubbling effect freaked me out at first!) but I’m a little confused and I went back twice and listened. Did you say that you got a lot of bleeds with the 813? I may of heard wrong and it wouldn’t be the first time, but I’m really looking for my “forever” stencil vinyl and I’m hoping that 813 is it. Once again, A-MAZZZ-ING job and I had missed the first video, so I went back and watched and promptly spit my coffee out when you slo-mo’d 😂🤣😂 Keep being extra ‘cause you’re rocking it!
🤣🤣🤣 well I am so happy that I put a smile on your face. And sorry for the confusion - I start rambling and most of the time I don’t know what I’m saying. So I like the Oramask - Masking Film - 813. I DON’T like the Oracal 631 because every time I would cut all the letters would start popping up. I hope that helps and clarifies 😍

Hello Ashley. I’ve had one on my door all summer and didn’t have any issues with it banging but we don’t open and close our door all day - you can grab felt pads from dollar tree 😊
