I think both of these team are capable of beating the Celtics but the Celtics have such an easy path compared to them they might have the advantage

Let's all admit one thing, it's a shame the Nuggets v Wolves series isn't for the WCF.
Nah, Mavs v. Nuggets will be an excellent sloppy fat white boy series

True. Remove all bias. This should be the West finals.

JJ, your podcasts are informative and non-biased! Do NOT take the Lakers head coaching job. That team is toxic! Maybe a younger team!

wolves guy here and hoping injuries on either team arent a factor. this matchup really deserves two teams at full power (as healthy any athlete can be after a long season) I'm looking at this as the Rumble at 5280 ft.

I think hunger could be a big factor. I'm not seeing it in Denver the way I did last year. Minnesota on the other hand looks very hungry for the title. Specially Anthony Edwards and he has the personality to influence the others.
As a nuggets fan 100% agree. Sense of urgency seems to be missing.

Great analysis
I feel Jokic has a better chance of not being stopped than Ant. We have seen players like Ant. Jokic is one of a kind.
They're both special players. Ant cannot be stopped though, even when he's not scoring well. Watched him all year, you'll be surprised what the T-Wolves can do when completely healthy. You've seen players like Ant? Who? Jordan? Kobe? TIMBERWOLVES IN SIX!
I think you're spot on that Jokic cannot be stopped - defense might slow him down, but he is incredible. That said, I'm 60 and George Gervin was a hero of mine, and can honestly say that Ant has a gear that I've only seen on a couple of other players ever. Consistency should be the goal for this 22-year-old. Whether he is able to muster this in an intense playoff series is a question only he can answer.
What players have u seen like Ant? There’s only 2. They cldnt be stopped and won 11 titles between the 2 of them.
ant averaged 32ppg in the series against Denver last season. ant is definitely not getting stopped.
@k1d55 Tell these fan boys
Yes, Naz and McDaniel are playing in this matchup, but MN as a team has crystallized to a degree - and how far they've come in this regard relative to Ant's rapid development is a possible determining factor. I hear so much about offense, but it seems to be as a whole too much work for a lot of analysts to speak to defense. These guys seem to get that, but MN's defense usually seems to get little more than a mention. Defense is grit and less flash for some - and the value and nuances of switching are perhaps harder to explain - so there you are.
Yea Ant man's maturity will show in this series; that part was impressive against the suns, without that suns would've won 2 games. Denver will be tougher obviously but we'll see if the young one will learn hard lesson from the Champs or if he will prevail. 😊
If MPJ and KCP would shoot well, the Wolves would have some really hard times.
mpj will be fine it’s kcp im worried snout between his ankle and having to cover Ant
They be hitting them timely, important shots tho. at least when I been paying attention
JJ great insight. I cant wait to watch this series!
Anthony Edwards legacy starts Now!
As a nuggets fan, if we lose this series im happy its minnesota. I love seeing ant play.
If you can be happy after your team loses then that’s a win
I am just happy they got their gentleman's sweep against the Lefrauds.
What kinda fan are you bringing that negativity in here
@@PullinMyOwnlol it’s really not that, it just he know the wolves really got a legitimate chance to put em out
JJ has the best analytics of all The NBA analyst. I love the way he explains everything. He does circles around everybody.
I’m a heat fan and I haven’t been this excited for a non-Heat playoff matchup in a long time. Probably since Warriors-Cavs in 2016. The talent and Star power is going to be crazy.
Minnesota is literally better in every way over last year's series. Minnesota didn't even have Reid or McDaniels last year if I'm not mistaken. Ant, Alexander-walker and Rudy are improved from last year. The only point of concern is KAT. If KAT plays well, Minnesota wins
This is gonna be the best series in the playoffs.
Its kobe(ant) and the Lakers vs timmy(jokic) and the Spurs.
NAW was definitely that player in the last playoff series. Nuggets are on record that wolves were the toughest out last year.
Doesn’t matter what they do wolves are younger, deeper, more athletic, longer, bigger, etc. etc.
This series shouldn’t be close on paper
?
If JJ takes a head coaching spot he'll have a steep learning curve no matter the squad or expectations. Understanding the game, even at the intrinsic long time player role he has, is not quite the same thing as translating to the instant decision making of making adjustments and rotation decisions. Now he is, clearly, highly intelligent and both has a real knowledge of and passion for the game, thus a big head start, but would still be a rookie HC taking the seat for the first time at doing so at the highest possible level when it comes to stakes and expectations. Either way if he does go that route I wish him the best as I've always admired and respected him as a player and that continued once he became an analyst and broadcaster at games.
JJ looks like the guy from curious George with that sweatshirt
Who will be the best 2? KAT or Jamal? I hope KAT, but Jamal is too clutch
I hope McDaniels, who’ll play a huge D on Jamal, will be the best 2.
The best 2? What you mean? Besides Denver has 4 of the 5 best players in this series.
@@PullinMyOwn what ?
this would be the ranking order - 1.Joker 2.ANT 3.Jamal 4.KAT 5.Gobert
..............6.MPJ 7.AG 8.JDMac 9.NAZ 10.NAW here you go. what do you think?
opportunities to prove he is a top player. He's mid tier. MPJ is off to an amazing start and he's only going to keep getting better, having more of a role on defense now which he has been doing good with.
Gordon will have a couple 20-25pt games but it is his defense and rebounding + off ball movement that is going to be so dangerous this series. Sure MN has more size than the Lakers but they like to be aggressive and double or help out. the moment that happens somebody is open and someone else is cutting. AG and MPJ are going to get a lot of good looks.
Rudy is only good for defense, no kinda offense whatsoever. Even then, he can't guard Jokic. He has had some of his best games against Rudy. And because Jokic doesn't have to work as hard on defense like he did against AD, the game will be easier for him. Sure Naz is nice but he's too small to go against Jokic and he's basically the same size as AG so that's not a mismatch in your favor.
@@twolvesnoplayoffs7489 that cut off for some reason. 1. Joker 2. Ant 3. Murray (although Murray has proven he’s better then Ant) 4. MPJ 5 Gordon
All I know is the wolves need to dominate the minutes jokic is off the court. They have the depth.

hey dudde - you are one of my favourite nba experts - luckily that you don't talk poorly about Jokic. :-) Will you become the new Lakers Coach? Would be really nice, but I am not sure if you would like to do that Job..
Kyle Anderson was also hurt in the playoffs last season against Nuggets. Played only 3 games.
Paint defense have to be crucial for the Nuggets to win. They can't just put the same effort they put against the Lakers allowing a ton of straight lines drives. Jokic NEEDS TO BE BETTER. He needs to put more effort on bothering drivers lay ups. At lot of time he just moved out of the way and never bother to contest
This series will be better than the finals...
How did the Nuggets win a chip with only one all star? Crazy.
Porter Jr playing like his brother bet the overs.
Let's go Nuggets!
Nuggets in 7 denver needs murray mpj and braun to all play well.
Make this man a head coach damn
not even giving u guys serie prediction?
Denver has a problem with TWolves via Gobert cutting Jokic assists way down during the season.
Even bigger problem is playoffs Big Honey dismantling a defense like a 3 second Rubik’s cube.
Rudy won't be guarding Jokic for most of the game. Kat, Naz, and Anderson will be his primary defender. Towns has one of the top 5 defenders against him when you look at the stats. Not going to lock him up but usually keeps his numbers modest.
2 or 3 of regular season games the Wolves were on the second half of back to back. The schedule makers did the Wolves no favors in the regular season matchup.
Funnel everything into gobert. If gordon can't shoot well enough to stop the funnel (something i doubt he will do), its going to be tough. I take MN D over Denver's offense if denver allows them to get set. They need to get rebounds and attack in transition because MN D is too good once set.
MN offense isnt as good, but ANT may swing it to be good enough against Denver's D.
I'm thinking MN in 6.
REQUEST: Lakers head coach JJ Redick with video coordinator Tommy Alter doing live video breakdown with the team at the Lakers practice facility. Imbibe responsibly. Haha!
I wonder we will ever see AG on Edward’s, Jok on Kat, and Porter on Gobert
Lakere are out, Now watching for three teams, Dallas (kyrie needs one with luka), Indiana Pacers & T-Wolves.
This is expected to be a 7 game series. But if Edwards shuts down MP, wolves wins in 6 games. Other thing everybody saying that the winner of this series is the one winning the championship, don’t forget that in the other side OKC is playing very well. And Boston … na forget that they choke in the finals.
We bouta really see if gobert is as great defensively and yall say he is im excited
These two teams are going to have one hell of a series. KAT vs Jokic & Ant vs Murray 🔥 🔥
If that’s all it comes down to then Denver in 5. KAT becomes a kitty in the playoffs and is a mid-tier PF/C in the league. He steady just shoots it, no post game.
Ant vs Murray is going to be like Murray vs Dame/Donovan/PG. He thrives against key matchups and is only rising higher in his confidence thanks to those 2 game winners.
@@PullinMyOwn Unfortunately, I think injuries might play a role in this series 🤔🙄. Murray has a calf strain (you have to be careful with those…that’s what led to KDs Achilles injury), while Doncic has a knee injury. Assuming everything stays as is, Denver in 7. The Nuggets really do have an actual physical home court advantage against teams that don’t play at the altitude they do, which is 90%+ of the league
I had questions about Ant's consistency. But if he played like that vs his GOAT, his favorite player all-time...the one player he looks up to the most...he'll play like that vs anybody. That being said, I think MIN takes it. DEN won't have the rebounding advantage like they had vs LAL. If LAL could've gotten an extra rebound here or there, the series likely would've flipped and been LAL 4-1.
They hate to hear that last part. The anti LeBron brigade pretends that the games wasn't close. Those that acknowledge it pretend that the nuggets "let them" make it close. It's insane
@@weplaydk2343you hate reality- the LeBron riding brigade pretends the Lakers didn’t go 1 -8 vs the nuggets in the last 2 playoffs. It’s insane. Denver didn’t let them anything, they just won. Everyone else pretending Booker and Durant near the playoff level of James and AD.
Hey coach jj, sounds good?
Jj you gonna be scapegoated in two years if you take the job bro.
That offensive rebounding 40% of misses stat is a wolves stat from Suns series. Not a Nuggets stat.
Kat will be the one who hold this team back.... i could see he got into foul trouble early amd could only take less than 10fga (it happened before)
I could see that. I'm sure he's aware of the doubt ppl have. He has the skill set and sharp shooting to change that narrative..
It's a heavyweight matchup, but do not assune the winner will simply walk over the winner of the OKC-Dallas series.
There's not a single person who, after watching the tape from last year's series, would argue that NAW wasn't incredible in his point-of-attack defense on Murray. His screen navigation was/is remarkable, and this season he has somehow improved his already superb body and hand positioning. But, it is unjust to imply that he wasn't effective on Murray--he just ran out of legs.
Throw away the crack pipe, JJ!
Facts. It was that series that people saw how good he could be.
Timberwolves are different/better this year. Nuggets are the champions, not sure they're better though. TIMBERWOLVES IN SIX!!! 🌲🐺🙏🏆
I think the nuggets will win again. Jokic and Murray are the best one’s right now plus they have the best role players and good coach.
I think we’ll see Ant start on Murray and McDaniels on MPJ
30 f'n years since any mn team had a championship, we overdue, this is our year gd'it
Murray, KCP and MPJ have to shoot well (45%+) in order for Nuggets to overcome Wolves,
LeBron's new son dropping some good takes on this pod. Nice job JJ.
Jokic can say goodbye to 10+ assists per game against the Wolves 🐺 in this series. Ain't gonna happen. Gobert takes away all the easy back cut baskets and our perimeter defenders HOUND the guards.
He better average 40+ points 15+ rebounds every single game or Denver is in trouble.
Lets goooooo!!!!! 🐺
i think the series will go to 7 atleast, timberwolves are much better than we expected and match up pretty well
It might go 9 games lol
I’m putting Aaron Gordon on Ant. Jokic takes KAT and just put Porter on Gobert.
We also didn't have Kat 3 games along with no Jaden and no Naz and 1 game no Gobert
Jj was spot on
Whatever the outcome is, we already know what an EPIC SERIES this will be!! 👍👏🔥🔥
Hey, here is simple kendrick parkins like analysis for you: Jokic will outplay Kat, Jamal and Ant will contribute pretty much the same overall in the series same with Naz Reed and Aaron Gordon, Jaden Mcdaniels and Kcp will have the same 3pm in some matches. Denver in 6
Oh and btw Mpj will have a game winner
Ant will no doubt contribute more, but the gap between Joker and KAT is big. Minnesota is much deeper so it should be close and depend on schemes

Loudest crowd Denver will have faced all year. Game 3 Wolves is a lock. But agree. Denver is a legit back to back threat this year.
Dont sleep on OKC
In my opinion this is a 1 seed vs a 1 seed. It really sucks they had to meet in round 2 only cause both teams deserve to have multiple playoff series wins under their belt for this season. Like if Wolves lose the narrative will be you were a 1 seed all season til the end and only could win 1 round with a two big lineup that includes Gobert. You cant run it back and pay into the 2nd apron. Trade Gobert or Towns.
And if Nuggs lose it is the looked disinterested. They had a weak bench and never addressed it with the cap limitations they had. The wolves found the formula to slow down Jokic and counter him.

If Joker doesn't play down low where he belongs (he's 7 foot, duh!) then Denver doesn't have a prayer of repeating as champs. He too much is like many of the trees these days who want to shoot 3-pointers from downtown. He's got to play the low post and own it muscling in to the bucket drawing fouls besides scoring buckets or Denver is toast in this series. Joker was too strung out and roaming around too much. The famous post p-layers from yesteryear knew their role and their spot on the court. Joker get in thier down low and mix it up with them and you'll cause them to implode!
